I am trying to downgrade my firmware to .534 in order to root and install a modified rom. I got as far as installing dual recovery for LB having gone directly from .290 to .534 with flash tool. For whatever reason only the TWRP portion would actually install and as I needed CWM I didn't go any further. At this point I noticed that the phone function wasn't working and I was getting an "Invalid Card - No Service" message on my lock screen.
On the recommendation of some forum folk I flashed back to stock .290 which cured the sim card issue but on subsequent attempts to downgrade again (this time via .257) I continue to get the Invalid Card message on the lockscreen. All were clean flashes with a full wipe, I tried excluding the baseband on one attempt but that did not alter the result.
Has anybody encountered this before, any help would be appreciated.
after flashing .534 fw..... root it....then make TA backup.....then unlock BL.....then flash .290 fw....flash doomlord kernel....root ur fon....now u r good to flash custom rom through recovery...

Hello everyone,
as a beginner in flashing roms/kernels, I flashed the dt2w (which is present on this forum) on my HTC One Mini 2. When I tried to reboot it, the screen was all blac. You could tell the thing was running, because of the vibration and sounds, but no image at all.
That's why I now need the stock kernel (original one?) and I don't know where to find it, neither if I have saved it somewhere, which I will flash using fastboot/adb.
Thank you

I believe someone has posted the stock boot.img somewhere(I can't seem to find it). You can also take the boot.img from the Stock Rom here
I am doing so right now, but will I be able to do the official upgrades? And is this a ROM or a kernel? Thank you

No , you won't be able to install official updates once you unlock your bootloader. But you can do so manually by flashing it through stock recovery with a relocked one. Just make sure you backup everything in the phone storage if you do it since it is wiped if every time you reunlock the bootloader.

How can I flash an OTA manually?
I've got an OTA (OTA_M8_MINI_UL_K44_SENSE60_Vodafone_CH-DE_2.18.166.2-2.18.166.1_release_448149.zip) but I am not able to install it.
I've already tried flashing a stock kernel (the boot.img from the link you've posted), I've flashed a stock recovery (M8_MINI_UL_Stock_Recovery_2.19.401.2.img) and I've relocked the bootloader.
But when I get the update notification and try to update, the phone goes to the stock recovery and the update proceeds but after about one quarter of the progress bar, it stops and shows the red exclamation mark (!).
I've also tried flashing the kernel and the recovery which are included in the OTA update, but still the same error.
Do you have an idea how I can manage to successfully update?

I managed to do it, but it was a really dirty method. What I did was find the firmware.zip file from the Firmware I got from here, locked the bootloader and then flashed it via the bootloader(renaming it to PXXXIMG.zip, check exact file name before proceeding). Make sure you find the firmware of the OTA, or just get the firmware.zip from it.
This gets messy because it will result in you reunlocking the bootloader(which I assume you probably will) which will in turn wipe the internal storage completely. So backup up the Internal Storage AND your SD card before you proceed.

I've tried what you did. Seemed to update Bootloader, Recovery and Radio.
Then I rebooted, again got the update notification and tried to install it.
Bit still the same error, software update still fails.
Hey
If u have flashed FTF or any other zip and lost your IMEI/Service And Major Issue Loosing Root status and unable to flash kernel/recovery using fastboot or flashtool
Rooting Status Unknown in service menu Configuraton *#*#service#*#*
Then you can revert back in two cases.
Case 1
That Worked for me.
You Have TWRP OR CWM Backup of previously working Firmware.
Steps:
1. Install Flashtool & Drivers. If you have already installed,Remove and reinstall. use 0.9.18.4 that worked for me.
2. Follow these steps.
A. Open C:/Flashtool/Custom/mydevices/
B. View The video for further steps and close flashtool folder.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkl9UyrQKSo
after above steps/Check wether you can flash Kernel/Recovery Using flashtool/If u succeeded then Cheers.
Otherwise procede to next step.
C. Relock ur bootloader using flashtool. U may have to try 2 to 3 times if it failed/Check adb fastboot drivers,I tried 5 to 6 times and then it relocked my bootloader. If it is locked, dont unlock yet.
3. Download and flash Kitkat 4.4.4 Firmware using flashtool.
4. Download XZDR From the link
http://nut.xperia-files.com/path/XZDualRecovery/XZDualRecovery_2.8.26 [email protected][NUT]'s for awesome work.
5. Start it and browse for Superuser.zip(Copy to storage),Install Kingroot v 4.5 and Busybox and install to phone.
6. Check root status if successfully rooted then Open XZDR and extract it. Run .bat file and check your phone,Give root permission. your phone will reboot to recovery.
7. Now
Wipe cacche/Dalvik/System/Data
8. Install twrp backup that you have already stored in cell phone.
9. Install Superuser.zip. Again Wipe cache/Dalvik cache only.
10. Reboot your phone and all set.
Method 2
If yo dont have twrp backup.
Relock bootloader/Flash Kitkat and root it using above steps.
One you installed recovery. Reboot to recovery and do steps 7 to 10.
Cheers
I have a similar problem, Please Help me
I was flashing a stock rom for my xperia z3 D6653. On flashtool I unticked "SIMLOCK" in MiscTA Exclude. (<----i think This was the problem)
After that, the flashing proccess started and done without any problem. When i put the sim card in the phone, it says: "Invalid Sim card" and in the service menu says: "Rooting status: Unknown". Before this, the service menu said: "Rooting status: Unlock Bootloader allowed: yes" then I unlocked my bootloader without any problem and everything was perfect, but after that flashing on flashtool the Rooting status change to "Unknown" and my sim card are unable to read. There is no problem with my sim card because I tried to put it on another phone and works perfect.
How do I fix it?
How I change the roothing status back to "allowed: yes"
and how I fix it to be able to read my sim card again?
sorry for my horrible english.
Please help me to solve it, im a noob in this kind of things and i dont know how to follow the tutorial.
Well this definitely has something to do with the TA partition. I also installed the 228 update yesterday which resulted in a non-working SIM, together with the "Rooting status: Unknown" error.
After creating a TWRP backup, I just flashed KK 4.4.4 (.292) onto my device. This however did not solve my problem, as it still showed "Rooting status: Unknown".
I have just restored my saved TA-partition (I made a dump of it before unlocking the bootloader months ago, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598) and this has fixed my problem!!! It now shows "Rooting status: Unlock Bootloader allowed: yes".
So, if you have saved your TA-partition you can try to restore it onto your device. Otherwise you could try to relock and unlock your bootloader, hopefully this will solve your problem.
Good luck
Hey there.
I'm in need of some help.
Last night, I was installing https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/orig-development/cr-5-1-carbonrom-t3529766 on my phone, going from stock 6.0.1. The steps I followed were:
First unlocked my bootloader. Phone boots up fine.
Flashed twrp and booted it. On twrp, the zip I was going to use gave me a error 7. Followed the instructions regarding that, and removed the get.prop lines.
Now it flashed without any errors.
Rebooted phone. It's stuck on bootloop (The Sony logo shows up for a split second and then starts again).
Tried relocking bootloader and flashing stock ftf, but it's still stuck on bootloop. Also tried flashing EliteKernelV3 but to no avail.
I have access to flashmode and fastboot, but can't get into recovery nor offline charging. Think messed up my partition table, and I can't figure what to do. Searched a lot on the forum, but usually the similar problems are solved by flashing stock ftf, wich is not happening to me.
Would be really grateful if some could shed some light on my case.
EDIT: I made a TA-backup prior to flashing custom ROM.

After I flashed the ROM, I did a factory restore.
Unlocked bootloader, flashed with EMMA, and it is still stuck on bootloop.
Thanks anyway.

Try flashing an older firmware like KitKat it maybe has the Z3C partition table inside of the ftf,but the MM firmware doesn't.

Indeed KK has partition table on the ftf, but it is still stuck on bootloader. I guess I'll contact Sony to see if they have a way of fixing it.
Thanks guys!
I've been trying to do this all night and am just having no luck. I was able to downgrade to Android 4.4.4 using C6906_14.4.A.0.157_Generic_US.ftf via FlashTool, and I was able to use KingRoot to gain root and FlashTool sees this, but when I look in the system menu it tells me that the bootloader is not unlockable, as well when I attempt to run the TWRP app with root and flash the TWRP image it says FLASH FAILED. I attempt to unlock the bootloader using FlashTool only to get errors such as:
WARN - ERR_SEVERITY="MINOR";ERR_CODE="0025";ERR_DYNAMIC="Wrong parameters";
ERROR - Processing of loader.sin finished with errors.
ERROR - null
I just want to be able to flash TWRP so I can install a custom 9.0 ROM and bring a little life back to this old device. Any suggestions?
Did you solve this?
I have the same problem
So I used fastboot to flash twrp on my xz3. I succesfully rebooted into that but realised my OS was gone. I downloaded flashtool and firmware from xperifirm but when i try to flash it says cannot open bundle. I tried flashing custom rom but it still says "no os, are you sure you want to boot". I have a lot of problems but the main goal is to get STOCK rom/firmware back
If someone manages to guide me to get stock back, i will provide a cookie
SOLVED: used Newflasher r20
