Hi,
a friend of mine has recently rooted my A30, I dont know whats going on, but when I turn on my phone it reports 40GB free of 64, after a couple hours it says no space left/free and not even whatsapp would open and the only way to free up space is rebooting.
Any hints on where to look?

When I turn off my phone because the memory gets real low even when i auto kill my apps or my phone simply dies due to low battery, i turn it on but somehow it resends a bunch of txts to my friends that i was txting with. I was wondering if this happens to anyone else and if there is a way to fix it? Thanks in advance
Which rom are you using?
I get what I call ghost notifications of text messages kind of the same way. I'll look at the message which clears the notification bar. When I turn off my phone at night and then back on in the morning I sometimes get a notification of the message I have all ready looked at. I think this was a problem in the international 2.2 roms hence the update to 2.2.1.
Oh, I'm using Cognition 4.1.1 ..... for now.
I am using the stock one. I haven't messed with the phone at all.
Oh ok thanks, to me it only happens when i turn it off it resends txts that i previously sent. It's kind of annoying not a big deal but gets old after a while. Thanks
I never had this problem with all ROMs I flashed. Or possibly I never noticed that happening. But I have to say that sometimes I still get double notifications for messages I have received previously after rebooting. personally I don't know why. I've tried cognition, phoenix, serendipity and now on firefly.

What do you mean by "I turn off my phone because the memory gets real low even when I auto kill my apps"? Are you checking how much ram is free and shutting your phone down because of that?

well when my phone gets to a certain point as far as RAM it will turn off on its own. kind of like it resets itself i guess or i will turn it off myself and turn it back on otherwise it will be really slow and that's when the resent text message thing happens.

That doesn't sound right at all.. Android is supposed to try to fill up the ram with the most recently used apps for quick access, but still manages a pool of free ram to keep things running smoothly. It should never get to a point where it "runs out" or shuts itself down, or even causes the phone to 'run slow'.
If you're running the stock official KB1 rom, then it's probably some app you're running that launches a very poorly coded service in the background that is eating all of your resources. You can try using a program called "Watchtower" that will tell you how much memory and cpu cycles each program is using to debug your situation, or simply uninstalling suspect apps until the situation improves.
Also, what batch is your phone from? You can find the build number under the battery, it's a four digit number like 1007, 1008, etc. Some of the earlier batches have a random shutdown problem affecting them (hardware defect), and if yours falls into the range of affected phones, you can go to an ATT store and they'll replace it with a new one.

Let me try the watchtower app first and I'll see if that helps me find the issue.
My build number is 1012, do you know the range for the ones affected by it? Thanks for your help

I don't know the specific range, but I remember hearing that if you bought your phone before Nov 2010, you were eligible for a replacement. I could be wrong though.. I think there's a thread about it in the general section.
Anyone else experiencing getting false internal storage almost full warnings?
A few days ago I had a warning that my internal storage was 75% full. I checked my storage and it says I still have 7gb free. Today the message came up again saying my internal storage is 101% full. How is that even possible?! In storage settings it still says 7gb free.
How do I fix this?

Maybe there are some temp files? Do you get warrning in time of usage some application/game?
Yup, have had exactly the same messages being displayed, first time round I agreed and it seems to have copied some random instagram photos and camera thumbs. 2nd and 3rd time I have just ignored the message but it does seem like a fault, and will become increasingly annoyingly. Using clean master app regular to remove temp files and free ram

yep i get it to, i just click close...
Same here, thought it could be hardware problems

Can also confirm it here, but only within the first week. Since then its been fine - most strange.
I also keep having my microSD card randomly dismount and that was driving me nuts, but as it was empty I just ended up taking it out. Will try another one when I eventually get around to it.
Hello,
I have a problem with my moto X and I hope somebudy could help me. Today i installed the Pocket app and my phone turned off in the middle of the instalation process, after turning it self on again a notification saying my phone is running out of space, but when I enter the storage settings, the device show that I have 7.78 gb Available. I almost never keep files, music or photos on my phone, I always use dropbos, drive, google play music so I don't have any idea what happened; also, the phone it's acting like it doesn't have space, I cant install any apps and it is really slow. You can se the image of the storage settings attached. I'll appreciate any help or advice. Thank you.
I've notice that sometimes my photos/vĂdeos disappear from my cellphone.
At first I noticed with media received from whatssapp and I thout it was an app issue and don't give to much attention to it.
Now I realized that recent media disappear, and then paying more attention I notice that they disappear just after my cellphone suddenly shutdown when running low battery.
Today I had a sad story, I was recording a trial, after that while using Waze my phone just shutdown without showing the logo information "shutting down". When I charged my phone and tryed to send the videos to people in the trial they do not appear. Searching for them I discovered the files still there, but the size now is 0 kB (and I watched some of them before the sudden shutdown)
So the question is, does anyone is facing the same issue? Is there a known solution? And the most important to me, does anyone know how to recover the videos?
Since Android does not appear anymore as a common removable card I can not use anymore tools like "miniTool Power Data Recovery".
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Hello there,
I've just bought Infinix Hot 2 (1GB version) because it's the only Android One device in Egypt (Awesome specs for the price, too!)
I was wondering if the current Marshmallow build is stable enough for daily use/doesn't have major bugs and if you think I should upgrade right away or stay on Lollipop for a while?

do not upgrade it now until a stale one comes out
its good enough for daily use, just backup your data first or you will lose it when you update
Well... Apart from all the marshmallow goodies the phone sometimes behaves weirdly, like when you leave the phone for a while then push the power button the screen takes about 5 seconds to turn on, no idea why maybe it's not stable yet as others said and it has to do with doze but otherwise I haven't encountered any major bugs, crashes... Etc.
I hope they will roll a patch soon though, maybe you should wait until then if you're worried.
i have not gotten my own update..... whats going on???
is it available in Nigeria yet??

but why havent i gotten my own yet .....maybe they paused the rollout coz of the issue......when did you recieve ur update:crying:
quite buggy update
My girlfriend updated her Hot 2, and there are quite a few issues
* As previoulsy stated, when the phone is in sleep mode, and when pressing the power button, it can take a few seconds for the screen to display the lock screen..
* When she wants to hang up a call, sometimes the screen stays black, sometimes the screen shows the hang up button, but it is not possible to click it, and she has to wait that the other side terminates the call
* caller name display does not work correctly, depending on how the caller's number is entered in contact list (with spaces between digits, and minus, etc....).
* when using to sim and configured "always ask" for sending SMS, it is not possible to send SMS anymore. When pressing the send button, an error message states that no prefered network is selected. SMS network must be forced in SIM menu
* contact list management is bad : merging seems to be broken, deleting duplicate entries prevents selecting remaining entries, and so on
I'm considering to rollback to 5.1, current bugs are very annoying and prevents correct usage of the phone, while it was working very well previously
Temporary fix for delay on screen light waking up
Hi, anyone who updated to marshmallow is facing the issue with the screen taking too long to awaken.
To fix that you can go to the play store and instal an app called wake lock.
Once you've installed it, select: PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK.
This seemed to solve the problem with the screen taking too long to wake up but it came at the cost of battery life. The battery drains a little quicker than regular.
This also fixes the issue with the screen not responding or coming back on after you make/receive a call.
The issue with the contact names not showing is annoying and I still haven't figured out how to fix that yet. Let's just hope Google fixes it soon.
Hope this helped.
guys , i am already on marshmallow but i got nw another update 836.6 mb
anyone got that update ?
Got the same update you are talking about. It's the monthly security patch for February. Came with some changes to the system like audio profiles and "do not disturb" when u swipe from the top of the screen and some other stuff. Try it out
Mine same
I used infinix hot 2 (2gb).. Laggy happened and freezing
I lost all of my data.. All my files... Everything. So pissed. But apparently, the files still take up all the space they took up. So my phone is still full.

I deleted all my contacts and re-imported them from a .vcf backup I had and they're working fine now!
I'm currently own infinix hot 2 2gb model with M installed in it. The cameras (rear-front) becomes dark when taking a video on apps (except default camera for sure). As also having the same problems above you guys have explained. Any one have camera bugs too? Why M released too soon for IH2 if it comes with tons of bugs? ?

Actually the files are not lost. They just in a folder which is hidden. You only see them when you root the phone... After rooting, just enable root explorer in a file manager like es explorer and u will see them..

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have a similar issue. Please How do I go about rooting the phone in such a way that I won't lose my data? What working method do you suggest I use?
