Photos/Videos Disappeared after shutdown - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've notice that sometimes my photos/vídeos disappear from my cellphone.
At first I noticed with media received from whatssapp and I thout it was an app issue and don't give to much attention to it.
Now I realized that recent media disappear, and then paying more attention I notice that they disappear just after my cellphone suddenly shutdown when running low battery.
Today I had a sad story, I was recording a trial, after that while using Waze my phone just shutdown without showing the logo information "shutting down". When I charged my phone and tryed to send the videos to people in the trial they do not appear. Searching for them I discovered the files still there, but the size now is 0 kB (and I watched some of them before the sudden shutdown)
So the question is, does anyone is facing the same issue? Is there a known solution? And the most important to me, does anyone know how to recover the videos?
Since Android does not appear anymore as a common removable card I can not use anymore tools like "miniTool Power Data Recovery".
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Not playing audio/video files

So since Rogers updated us to froyo (yes this is the canadian i896 model) I've been having the problem lately where it just won't play media files anymore.
I'll notice this when I go to watch a youtube video and it'll say "problem playing touch to retry", then I'll go try to play an mp3 and it'll say "cannot support this file type", so I'll check a video and get the same. The pisser is that it won't play notification sounds or ringtones either as it seems to be all connected.
Now these are files that played fine only some time ago, so I dont' know what caused it to stop being able to play.
If I power down / power up the phone things are back to being copacetic. Just a pain as it takes about a minute to power down, and then at least a minute to boot back up.
Samsung suggested i just reset the whole phone - which I'm not enthused to lose a lot of data (some of my programs just don't allow backups).
I've taken the scientific approach and run each of my programs one at a time with after running it, checking it with with a media player to see if it'd stop working. nothing.
I've deleted/uninstalled a lot of programs to ensure it was running on only what i truly wanted. nothing
I just don't want to reset my phone - that would suck.
It just seems to happen at random. Literally I watched a video, put the phone down, went to bed, woke up the next morning and it didn't play. Now who know s what background apps were going on... but how can I control that..
any help/suggestions?
I have the same phone with the same issue
I have a new theory-
I noticed that it happens after I get a notification that my battery is full.
It sounds silly but it's the only thing I noticed that affects it.
I'll keep on testing..
heard the official twitter app causes some issues - uninstall it to fix
i uninstalled - so we'll see if it fixes

[Q] Need technical help

Hello!
This is my first post here, so I apologise if I make some mistakes of any sort .I have recently bought a LG optimus 2x and I am experiencing some problems with it .
The phone is not rootet and I haven't done any software modifications on it ( except installing apps )
The main problem is that the phone shuts down automatically( I know that there is another thread) but , unlike previous mentioned , mine shuts down quite rare ( like once in 4-5 days) but in random activities.
I.E: I was playing backbreaker thd for some time( like half an hour ) and the battery was > 50% . The phone shut down and I had the sensation it was slightly overheated.
Sometimes it shuts down when I plug it into the charger.( more like restarts , cause it displays the lg logon play and shuts down, then does that again).
At some point while I was travelling by train it was shutting down when I tried to call anyone
(battery at 30%).
Also sometimes it crashes when it does media scan / F-Secure scan , but if I start it the second time it works.
Should I take it to the warranty , or it's a software related problem, has anyone experienced this sort of problem?
Is it a software-related or a hardware-related problem, could it be fixed?
Thank you,

Hello and welcome. Yes I would take it back and get a new one as this is not normal. Depending on how the sales rep is feeling that day he may want you to prove something is wrong with it. I would cash in the warrantee now rather than regretting it later

[Q] S4 Active - Audio message bug (whatsapp)

Hi, I've got this terrible problem that I've never been able to resolve on my phone.
From what I remember, the bug has always been there, and I'm now using the cyanogenmod, but the problem is still there.
The screen doesn't turn black, the file stops near the end (if it's a really short file, like 2 seconds, it'll look like it won't play it at all)
If it's a file of 30 seconds, the file will play with 0 problems until it reaches something like 75% of the progess bar, then It'll bug itself, making me hear crappy audio or nothing.
Could you guys please help me? I REALLY don't know what to do, I've searched a lot on Google but I haven't found anything!

Third N910T replacement; something stealing app focus

I'm about to receive my third warranty replacement for the numerous problems I had with my Note4. Most of the problems are fixable (camera, GPS, etc), but one problem is bad and I don't see a simple solution.
Something seems to be intermittently stealing the focus from my app (I believe). So, if I'm watching YouTube, it randomly pauses because it thinks I've switched apps. If I'm recording video, it randomly stops, because it thinks I've switched apps. If I'm playing a video game, it pauses while I'm playing until 'I return'. If I go to the app-switcher, sometimes it closes randomly before I select which running app to switch to.
I actually bought a new SD card (64GB wasn't really doing it for me, anymore, anyways) but the problem persists. The phone does seem better behaved before all my apps repopulate (although there's not much to do on the phone before the apps are back), so I suspect it's an app, but I haven't heard anything about this sort of problem on any website or forum.
Lastly, the problem may have started around the time of the StageFright patch in August, but a lot of apps also updated around that time.
I'm stock 5.0.1 without root (maybe in the future), although I always disable T-Mobile bloatware like DT_Ignite. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks - And sorry for the late reply (I don't remember getting a notification about a reply). I'll try your suggestion if the problem comes back.
It appears to be a problem with the Samsung Techwin app for their video cameras. For others, the app would just randomly pop-up during phone use, making the problem easier to diagnose. For me, it would just steal focus.
I uninstalled the app & things are back to normal.

Very cool you found what was giving the problem. I'll remember this fix as well, another tool in the toolbox!

Volume drops randomly using Google Music (Bluetooth / Headset)

Hello there, I have a frustration with my Nexus 6 running 6.0.1
While there is similar probs around, none seem to explain mine.
When using Google Music on Bluetooth/Headset I get normal operation and then randomly (sometimes immediately, sometimes up to about 5 minutes) the volume drops down. The Volume slider still shows 100% volume.
I thought at first it was the ear-saftey thing we used to have where it does this, but then allows you to change it back to full volume. But I didn't get any message around that or cannot find a way to override it.
Then I thought it was another system process stealing focus and the phone getting confused, eg dropping volume for a notification and then just not returning it.
Tried rotating phone to see if it was a portrait/landscape bug
Everytime. I restart the phone, it's fine again before the random volume drop occurs 1 sec-5 mins after playing a song. Once it does it, it gets stuck that way.
I've lived with it for a long time but it's doing my head in now so hopefully someone can help it advise?
Not even sure if a factory reset will fix.
Cheers

I've had the same problem, running N developer preview 1 listening with wired headphones. I've learned that I just kind of have to wait for it to pass, try force stopping play music, or restart the phone.
Are you streaming your music, or is it downloaded onto your device? I manually copy music onto my phone from my computer, and this is when I've got the issue, as I stream with Spotify fairly often and never have the problem. I've always thought it was just some bug reading all of these crazy 3rd party audio files in the storage.
Hasn't been much of a problem for me... Just jumped at the opportunity to share when I saw this thread. If it bothers you that much, try a full wipe of internal storage and reinstall everything. Cheers! Hope I helped.
