Does any one else notice a strange noise that's very faint when playing back a video recorded on the phone? Can hear it more through headphones. Hard to describe. It's like a slight clicking or interference noise. Have to listen hard to know it's there without headphones.
Anyone checked theirs for me please? Need to know if I need to return. Cheers.
Im not sure if i understood you correctly, but i lowered media volume to 0, and played video from a gallery - couldn't hear anything.
BUT What i noticed earlier, when you open Camera app, and put a phone to your ear (like when you are on a call) you can hear some white noise, like a sea
It's when you've filmed a video on the phone and playing it back. Only when recording zoomed out. When you soon in it stops. Not sure how to upload a sample video. Sounds kind of like crickets.

Hello, I am with Huawei P30Pro Android 10, I just wanted to share my experience with you about the noise. I heard it, too! I wanted to record a very low noise from an amplifier (I was nearby the speaker, so the zoom was 1x), like if it has hum or some tweeting noise from the speakers when it is not playing any music and the volume is on Max. And then I have noticed the same ticking noise when I played the recorded video on my computer. I thought it is some problem with the computer. But then I played it on my phone, for security, and I heard it again, but I had to increase the phone volume, otherwise is not so noticeable. So I thing, when you have this noise, too, it should be produced somehow from the phone by video recording and it should be some kind of common issue, not only by your phone.
I hope this info help you. So, the problem is not only in your device! In mine, too, and probably in everyone's else!
Best regards
It's Radio interference. Probably from gps/lte/wifi antennae etc. Turn airplane mode, ticking is gone. You're welcome!

Hi!
Well, since I've flashed CM (had Stock, MIUI and iHackers before), I'm having problems with the sound recorded by the microphone(s). It sounds like there is a very agressive high-pass, along with a noise gate f*cking up the sound. I think it could be related to a miss-configuration noise-canceling mics placed like all around the device.
I checked earlier recorings with the iHackers ROM, they're all crystal clear. I also tried different recording apps and video cameras, manually adjusted the digital gain, but everytime I get unusable recordings, they're quiet, muffled and just overall sh*tty.
Well, I hope I'm not the only one experiencing this, and I really hope someone could help me.
Bye
Julian

Yeah, exactly. I didn't record any concerts with it, but filmed at a local music store as we tested out some guitar amps (pretty loud if you know ). Audio was crystal clear, no distoring, no muffeling, just as I talk from the back of the phone it sounds a little weird.
Hi did anyone try recording a musical instrument with the Nokia 8?
Is anyone willing to try and do something simple with a guitar or something else I'm really curious what the OZO sounds like when recording a musical instrument...
Thanks guaranteed!!
I haven't recorded isolated instruments, but I have noticed that in loud settings (concert venue, car stereo) the microphone seems to saturate and clip pretty easily. I haven't seen any kind of gain control, either. It would probably be pretty decent in a quiet, more studio-like setting, but it doesn't seem to handle louder environments well.

Thank you this information is very useful for me, that kind of clipping worries me as I also play a high tin whistle that it's shrill high notes could cause microphones to clip, do you think they can fix that gain issue? Is the recording you did after the recent updates? Also have you tried recording a loud environment with a different phone to compare if they would clip in the same loud environments? Especially interested in the LG V30 or G6 with regard... I also heard that the new Sony Xperias should be good with regard and able to record loud concerts... Thank you very much!
I watched a video on Youtube in which a person used a Nokia 8 to record pushing back a Boeing 777 aircraft! wow! the sound is very crisp and doesn't clip despite the relatively loud environment, xasbo, do you reckon your specific unit could be faulty? and the clipping has been fixed in more recent units? thanks for your help!

When I take video for Facebook Live, I do save the videos in HD to my phone, but I also notice that the audio volume is low. How can I adjust this? I generally take videos at live band performances where I'm right at the front of the stage.. Unfortunately, I have to turn my headset speakers up to hear the sound.
Additional information: Normally, I keep my phone's volumes on mute. Would this have an impact on audio recording quality? Those that normally take Facebook Live videos, how are your volumes set? And also, can you hear the sound pretty well? When taking video, I'm normally towards the front of the stage, or at it, where the speakers are. Not sure if this has an impact on audio quality being so low or not.
8/25/19 EDIT: Over FOUR months later, still no replies to this topic, will bump. OP has been edited with a second paragraph.
I was about to post this question again but apparently I already had, over 4 months ago. No response, so this is a shameless bump. I've edited the OP a bit with "Additional Information". I took another Facebook live video yesterday and I'm still getting the same low volume in my recording.
Does anyone have any experience using an attached microphone with the Galaxy Note 9?
Hello, it seems to be, that i have an Problem with the lower speaker on my Phone.
If i have the Volume on Max, or one or two steps lower, the speaker is overdriven by moving Videos with high voices or music .
It Sounds like the speaker is shortly scratching.
I can reproduce this by watching or listening the same video or track again.
youtu.be/zUsnFtW2wG4
On this track i can listening the scratching very often between minute 0:25 - 0:45 .
It is very short and you have to listen carefully.
Does anyone have this problem or can reproduce it?
Thanks for helping

Aside from the crappy quality of the phone speaker compared to what my used to be $500 HD650, I heard no scratching. At all volume levels and angles.
Also, advice - stop listening to phone speakers at high volume. Maybe you just blew it out.
Thanks for the fast answer.
The Phone is brand new, i received it last week and it was not really in use. Now i have contact the support for an replacement.
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a pixel 7, I noticed that at maximum volume, sometimes you can hear some kind of crackling from the speakers, similar to a metallic rattling. If you make it quieter, it seems to pass, surprisingly it does not always happen that way. There is music where everything is perfect, and there is one that is almost impossible to listen to, for example YotClub - YKWIM?, from the first seconds there is already a crackling or rattling, this can also be found sometimes on YouTube, in some videos this also happens. Tell me, is this a problem in the phone or a soft one? Once again, this does not happen everywhere.
