P30 Pro (VOG-L09) IMEI Blacklisted - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

I bought this phone second hand and found that my sim card is not working in this. Later found out that it has its IMEI Blacklisted.
Can anyone please help in this regards?
Thanks

Return the phone back to the seller, asking for a refund.

What he said ^^
You've bought what is potentially a stolen phone, or one that someone thought was stolen and has later found. This cannot be unblocked so return it to the seller or report it to the police.

help me check the phone

Hi,
i bought one used d3 but currently it is locked and all the lock codes are failing. so i have tried entering the MEID of the phone verizon activation site and its asking to contact customer care.
i have tried calling the customer care but they said that they cant really check the status of the phone (stolen / unpaid account) unless i am a customer but i am from Germany and don't have an account
I am suspicious that this might be the case as all codes are failing to unlock.
Can any one help me find if this phone has a bad history and i need to report to the seller?
Thanks in advance

no one wants to help me with this? strange
You cant tell. The seller could say it was simply given from a friend or purchased.

guys I need help
i got a xperia z of Kijiji and after 1 week when i got myself a sim found out that the phone has been reported as stolen and has a blocked imei now. Phone is with Bell.
my question now is: can we fix this?
if not, and if I do sim unlock to my phone, would I be able to use it with rogers and etc?
You can't fix it. Return it.
If you can't return it, report the person that sold it to you for selling stolen goods.

The only way I was told by the police is to go to a civil court and make a case against him. If I unlock the phone, will it run in US?
I don't know how it works in the US, but where I live a phone reported stolen won't work on any carrier as the IMEI gets blacklisted.

is IMEI change possible on P20 Pro with unlocked bootloader?

I want to buy the phone off craigslist. Lots of phones that are sold on craigslist are reported stolen by the seller just days after they sell them. Then you are left with a blacklisted phone that you can't use anywhere. This happened to me with one of the HTC phones but with those ones I can easily change IMEI if a phone has unlocked bootloader and is S-OFFed. Another friend bought Samsung galaxy from craigslist and a month later it got blacklisted - no luck with changing IMEI on that one no matter what I tried. Will P20 Pro accept adb commands to change its IMEI if it's with an unlocked bootloader or not? Just want to know this before I go ahead and buy one off craigslist or ebay.
Thanks.

Changing the IMEI is illegal, and you're not to discuss it on XDA. With that said, it can't be done.
Correct.
Changing the IMEI is illegal in most countries and therefore the discussion thereof is strictly prohibited on xda.

I think I just bought a stolen Note 9 (Unlocked SM-N960U1). Advice?

I was looking for unlocked phone on craigslist and I found this unlocked phone listed for $800. However, the seller immediately agreed for $650 without much negotiation. I checked the phone, everything looks original, IMEI checks out, came with box and all the accessories. Its not a Chinese close. But seller was not able to provide the receipt. He claimed he bought unlocked directly from Samsung but he couldn't even show the email.
It didn't click me back then but now that I look back, everything looked shady. Like he immediately dropped the price and sold me immediately etc. I did get photo of his drivers license and car license plate and he was happy to provide that.
Am I at risk of getting my phone blacklisted later on if this is stolen? I know if the phone is from Verizon or AT&T, they blacklist the stolen phone with IMEI in their data base. But how about the factory unlocked phone? Is there any way for me to find out if this phone is stolen?
1. Check model# on the box, is it SM-N960U or SM-N960U1?
If the phone's model say n960u1 but on the box model is n960u then he flashed unlocked firmware on a carrier model.
2. Check the IMEI on swappa it will tell you if you have factory unlocked phone(SM-N960U1) or a carrier model(SM-N960U), based on your imei. https://swappa.com/esn
I have a factory unlocked n960u1 and t-mobile doesn't know what phone I'm using because they don't have my phone's imei in their database. So if the phone is factory unlocked and report it stolen to his carrier, I don't think they can do anything because it's not carrier's phone. But if it's one of carrie's phone and report it lost or stolen then the imei will get blacklisted. So just check the imei find out exactly if it's n960u or n960u1.
Hope that helps.

Samsung S8 no network and IMEI blacklisted. Help to clean it up

I understand I made a big mistake buying second hand phone but after dropping my phone I was financially broken to buy a new one and decided to try second hand. The phone look new but is turned up to be google account blocked and IMEI blacklisted. I paid £350 and can't afford to lose it. The seller is disappeared and not answering.
I managed to remove google account with odin and combination installing latest firmware but now the phone doesn't ready any sim and decide to check IMEI and find out is blacklisted.
I found a procedure on youtube to make IMEI 000000000 but the code *#33725327# doesn't work and also I'm not sure how to replace a workable number after that. I saw people on youtube charging $150 to fix IMEI. Another chapo was suggesting to get phone ROOTED but no idea if will work and phone will get reading sim again.
Could you please help and if not legal please just send me a private message. I just want make this phone working as I can't buy another one.
I appreciate in advance any help you can do for me.
S8 blaclisted
So did u ever get it working? i rooted my s8+ but ive had no luck unblocking STILL
Rooting it wont unblacklisted it my friend
