I would like to know if someone ever found a skin (a la Dbrand) for the Mate 8. I just hate cases and skins are the only protection I would considering slapping on my phone

This is my custom case for Pocophone F1, i made an art based on Mi 8 Explorer Edition design and i bought the case in this store: https://aliexpress.com/item/For-Xia...name-Customize-printing-your/32918271712.html
You just need to send the image (2:1 proportion) and they will print in the case. The quality is great, not perfect, but for the price i can't expect more than that. The case is better than the stock case and give nice protection (its similar to mofi case, but not too strong)

Exactly. They had the respect of not removing my name from the art, but they did not ask me the authorization to sell cases with the art. They don't care about copyright or something like that.

On my mi8 though, I tryed a MOFI one, similar to the one I had on the onepmus, but nothing happens. How are your experiences with this, does anyone know which cases work?

I've been looking for a flip case for Xiaomi Mi 8 that supports a smart sleep function.
I haven't purchased it yet but when I asked the seller, he told me that it has one.

How is the grip compared to the case that comes with the a3? I'd like something grippy, almost sticking to my hand so I almost don't even have to hold it

Cases feel totally different in hand but this skin add a bit of grip to the device compare to it's naked version.
Does P40 pro cases fit P40 pro PLUS?
I cannot find many options for P40 pro PLUS.

Not quite, i had a p40 Pro case sent in error and the camera cut out was about a mm too small
