Android Auto and VW Active Info Display - Android Auto General

Hi,
Do you know if it's possible to display the song name on the Active Info Display when your phone is connected through Android Auto?
I have been trying to change so many things (Spotify permission, system permissions) with no luck, AID it's just showing Android Auto and not the song name.
Thank you.

In AA settings check the option in the attached pic. The song and singer name will be shown in a banner, for a few seconds, on top of any screen. I stopped using this option because it is very annoying when in navigation mode.

It's not about showing the song on the main display, it's about showing the song on active info display that s replacing the clocks.

Not possible

I also think it is not possible, AA is made to be used on the main screen of your car, not on the gauges screen.

Well, that's so annoying.

On Honda Civic we have music information and turn by turn on instrument cluster from AA, possibly it's something that VW doesn't implemented yet or its only for some cars.

My 2020 Kia Forte LXS shows track information when I'm using the official YouTube Music app to play music.

View What Chromecast Is Currently Playing

Is there a way, from a separate device (laptop, mobile device etc), to view what a Chromecast device is currently playing? Essentially, stream in the opposite direction of what the Chromecast is intended for.
Example:
I've got a youtube video playing on my television thru my Chromecast. I've put it there via my mobile phone. From my laptop, can I connect to the Chromecast and see what it is playing?
From the chrome browser, It should tell you what app it is using. No details though. Just "Netflix" or "YouTube"

If you happen to connect using the same app that launched the content it will in some cases tell you what content is playing to ensure you want to jump onto the control channel.
But it's not really possible to jump onto a Plex App Control Panel from some other app other than Plex....
Same would be true for YouTube and Netflix I would suspect.
There's an Android app called RemoteCast that attempts to connect to a Chromecast already running an app and take over control. If it succeeds, it shows you what's playing and lets you ff/rew/vol+- etc.. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated in a long time, and doesn't work for most Chromecast apps these days, but the potential is there.

One UI location services etc

It appears one has to have high accuracy location ON else nothing really works anymore in Pie.
In Oreo, my location was set as GPS only, all apps functioned fine like this. With all apps I'm referring to Google maps, Wifi analyzer, Google location sharing etc..
Can folks who are on One UI confirm this to be the case, as perhaps hopefully I'm missing something. I don't like the idea of being forced to use high accuracy all the time.

I think I figured it out. The setting I was looking for appears to be within Google location accuracy menu within Google settings. In Oreo I could set the location to GPS only from the setting menu and couldn't find it in One UI.

Sorry for the extra post. The only way I could locate "location accuracy" was within the attached screen.

Bluetooth car functions (skip/restart song, song information) not working

Hello
I am two days in to fully using my pixel 5. I upgraded from pixel 2 running Android 10.
I have noticed an incredibly infuriating bug when listening to spotify in my car. On my pixel 2 there were no problems.
The normal process would be for me to start the ignition in my car, phone connects to bluetooth after a few seconds, and spotify would start playing automatically. Song information would load and be seen on the cars infotainment. The artist would show, and the song and the album, etc. Skip song, restart song, all works from steering wheel buttons and car's touch screen.
Now, using the pixel 5, my phone would connect to my car but no song information would get transferred to my cars infotainment. See picture attached.

}
Skip function not available. Song details not available. Volume control still works though.
Is anyone else having these problems? My car is a VW Golf 2014, mk7 and doesn't support android auto - I've never used that. Like I said I had no problems whatsoever in pixel 2 Android 10. Thanks!

Question Music Control Banner on Lock Screen Does Not Contain Fwd/Rwnd functionality.

Previously I had a Redmi Note 7 Pro in which I was able to fast forward or rewind songs in the lock screen by seeking the song playback bar on the lock screen just like in iOS. It was a comfortable feature. But now with the Xiaomi 11T Pro, I'm not able to find the functionality. I'm restricted to just play next/previous or pause the song. This issue is present irrespective of the music app I use (Spotify, Amazon Music). I'm not able to pinpoint whether it is a bug first of all. I mean, did Android scrap that feature? If not then is the issue related with MIUI or Android OS? One thing to note is that I'm able to use the functionality from the notification panel by swiping down when the phone is unlocked. It is a bummer that I have to unlock my phone each time to get to my favourite part of a song. It would be very helpful if someone can provide me with a workaround or a fix or a change in settings.
I'm attaching the screenshots where you can clearly see the difference below the play/pause button.

Question Can't adjust audio balance, is there a fix/app? [SOLVED]

I need to be able to adjust the audio balance (or, if you prefer, the left-right volumes) on my Pixel 7. (One earbud plays half as loud as the other.) But every app I have tried so far (Wavelet and PowerAmp EQ are the only ones with memorable names) fails to be able to do this. They'll generally work in all other functions (EQ, total volume, reverb, etc) but always fail to address the left-right balance.
Is there a magic app I haven't tried? Is there an inbuilt setting I haven't found yet? Or is the Pixel 7/current-Android-version simply incapable?
Thanks in advance. I did search xda and the rest of the world and came up empty.
Try going to settings, accessibility, audio adjustment. There is a L/R slider.
Good luck!

Crap, I know I looked there at least once. Must have skimmed right past it.
That works, but it'll be a pain if I switch to the other earbuds. Don't suppose there's any way to make it quicker to adjust or shortcut to that setting?
ETA: Wait, stop, I just discovered Accesibility Shortcuts are a thing. Never needed anything like this before. Thanks again, OJ!
