Hi guys,
Ive already spend days of google and even brought my old laptop from the storage room to format my newly purchased sandisk 128gb micro sd card. Its not recognized by the modified tablet running 14.1 chalagwifi(?). So stock android has the option to format the sd card, but is there a way i can do that within lineageos? Under storage my sd card is not listed...I have tried to format it from my laptop to exfat but still not recognized... From google results the sd card should be compatible with the tab - so any one has an solution?
Best regards.
HI
The mount point for the SD card is not under "/storage" but "/mnt/media_rw/" witch can cause problem with most of media reader (Like Mk player)
you can see your Sd card with an explorer like "ES explorer" and read a video with google video but not with Mx Player
i expect it can help you. i'm searcing in formums a way to change the mount point of the sd card
Note : i have a 128 go sd card formatted in NTFS and it work well

Hi!
Why is that my movies in the External SD Card gets corrupted? When I transfer a movies and play it right a way it plays fine, but after few hours it turns to 0 byte. Is there a problem with my SD Card or my ROM?
Formated/Fix my SD Card Already.
Players: Stocks SGS Video Player and VPlayer.
ROM: DocsRom BUJP8 v9.0.1
SDCard: Apacer 16GB Class 4

Done that and it does this on multiple cards. from a 1gb to 32gb different classes and manufacturers. Only thing in common is Tab
OK so I checked with my local O2 store and they confirmed my Xperia Z will accept a 64GB Micro SD Card, so I bought one - transferred all the dats off the 32GB Micro SD Card onto the 64GB card with no problems, I insert the 64GB card into the Xperia Z - I check under the storage tab and it shows 24.5GB of the new SD Card has been usd but, the inbuilt walkman and PowerAmp refuse to play any of the files - they all play perfectly from the 32GB card but nothing plays off the 64GB card ........... is there something I'm doing wrong?
You might need to format your sdcard with exfat.

That made things worse! Most of the files have vanished from the card - it just shows 4GB have been used and not the 25GB loaded onto the card.
Ok it's now sorted, had to format exFAT to FAT32, maybe that's what I was told to do? If yes then I apologise! I used this tool to foomat exFAT to FAT 32 : Hmmmm seems I can't post links yet, so the tool is titles "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool 2.2.3", it's completely free, run as Admin.
Maybe it'll help somebody else out.
only new version support exFAT, otherwise use FAT32 format.
In the usermanual is written "Sd Card usable up to 32GB" --> sdhc is supportet and NOT sdxc.
I just flashed Allrams cm-11-20140706-UNOFFICIAL-jactiveltexx.zip without a problem (after a full wipe). System running fine, but unfortunately my SDCard (Samsung 64GB ExFat formatted) isn't recognized.
The card is recognized via Recovery, as well as on my PC.
Any suggestions?

I would have posted this question in the appropriate thread, but not enough posts until now...
I installed Spegelius version cm-11-20140702-UNOFFICIAL-jactiveltexx_NE5.zip. Ext. SDCard is recognized. Everything running smooth so far...
It seems, problem within allrams version.
I have allram build but sd card is working, but earlier when I had Sandisk instead of Samsung card I also did have problems ..
Which size of card? Also in ExFat formatted?
Spegelius build of 20140702 wasn't able to play YouTube videos, so I changed ROM to Carbon (CARBON-KK-UNOFFICIAL-20140704-2345-jactiveltexx.zip).
SD card is recognized, YouTube is working. Only few camera crashes.
It seems, there is only a problem in allrams build with 64GB cards formatted with ExFat.
Hi I use this one https://www.cyberport.de/samsung-pro-64-gb-microsd-speicherkarte-class-10-bis-70mb-s-uhs-i--4H02-03F_1519.html Allram newest build but worked on previous also .. Funny things on this custom builds how different thing work on one phone but not on other (regarding my video 10 min recording limit)
My SDCard is Samsung microSDXC Pro 64GB (Class 10) in my SGS4 Active, formatted with exFAT. Worked with stock rom 4.4.2.
I have flashed several allrams builds. Recognized in Recovery but after a restart or boot up then randomly my card is recognized in CM11 but not all files and folders are found.
When I go to Settings/Storage and unmount and mount back the external card then it finds all files and folders.
If I connect my phone to a PC, I can't transfer files to external card, only to internal storage if external card is unmounted under Settings/Storage.
I have a 32GB card in my note 2
I am getting a 64GB card. So All I need to do is
1. Format new card(FAT32?)
2.copy all files from old card to new card
3. Insert new card
Anything else I need to do?
Lot of my apps are installed on SD card (no special application, but using android built in move to SD card)
Yes
That all you need to do. Or at least that is all I have done for every SD upgrade that I have done, and I've had no problems.

I did the same, no issue. enjoy your bigger sd
Fat32 or extfat
fat32 is fine , always what i have done , also it 'd be best if you use this tool , google for it "sd formatter"
You cannot copy big files more than 4GB on Fat32 file system. You should use ExFat if you have such files.

I have no problem with native exFAT(I assume this is how the card will come formatted),
However, since I have certain APPS which are on SD card, will a standard copy all files and folders to new card approach work, or I am in for some headache?
Okay, I kept is exFAT, and then copied all files from 32GB card to 64GB card. Works like a dream!
Thanks for your help!
Apps on SD card also work fine
64 card files wont all play
Hi I have a new moto g, (running lollipop) I also put in a 64 sd card, while the music files seemed to play fine, video and other files the phone reads some of them not others, I put the same file internally and on the sd card and it reads the internal version of the file. I gather from this forum ( 64GB HD Card on Lollipop ROM - What format should I use?) I need format the sd card, I have no idea how to do that, any help would be appreciated.
Use Fat32, it´s the safest solution imho.

Only fat is supported out of the box for external SD.
Max file size for fat32 is 4GB-1byte. Should be not a problem unless you plan on putting e.g. large hd-movies on the card. That would require another filesystem and makes things complicated (root, custom kernel etc)
Since Windows' internal formatting tool is limited to 32GB you will need e.g.
http://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/. On linux use gparted.
