OP3T with Samsung Gear

Hi All,
Anyone here using this combination OP3T with Samsung Gear S3?
I'm having random freeze/hang with the Samsung Gear apps in my OOS Beta 4. The problems start before the upgrade and become worst after Beta 4.
Found out from dumpState-SAP Logs - DEVICE_ERROR (error code=0xa0000007).
After uninstalled the apps everything become normal back and my battery improved a lot.
Anyone know the fix for this issue?
Now using the Gear S3 as stand alone.
Hey, unfortunately I can't help you with your problem but I don't have any issues like that. I'm on 4.1.3 and everything runs smoothly.

3T with Open Beta 18 crashes every few minutes when using Android Auto

I recently got a new Mercedes C Class 2017 (built november) with the all-new Android Auto Support (finally..)
My girlfriends phone works fine with it, I can connect it, android auto starts and I am able to use it for as long as I've tested (~2 hours).
When I try to do the same with my 3t (running latest open beta 18) my phone will hard crash after a few minutes of usage. I'm talking screen black but still running kind of crash here, phone does no longer react to anything, I can only do a hard restart (long pressing the power button for ~10 seconds). The crash is always reproducable but does not seem to be limited to certain apps (happened on spotify, google maps, waze and idle), the phone just crashes after a few minutes. I already disabled battery optimization for Android Auto but to no effect.
Any ideas?
Try upgrading to the stable Oreo 5.0 ROM instead of the beta, there's lots of debugging turned on in the beta that can cause issues, as well as buggy implementations. Beta is Beta after all [emoji16]

hm I was going to do that but I read a post somewhere that there are no bugs fixed between the beta and the stable channel for this release so I thought it's probably not worth trying. I'll give it a shot nevertheless today
-edit- I tried it: did a full wipe and a clean install of OOS5 but Android Auto is still crashing after a few seconds of usage

Call of Duty Mobile - Freeze

nyone experiencing random freezing in COD Mobile in Mi 9 with Mi11/Android 10? In my case, last two weeklys of xiaomi.eu.
I was staying with Android 9/Miui 10 until google maps history gets solved on Googles's side, but tried this latest beta, and game start frozing randomly, while in game and often on battle end while "saving results".
Tried with and without game accelerator, root and unrooted.
Back to 9.8.1 and issue is gone.
I don't have such issues on 9.10.10.
No issue on 9.9.27
Same here in global rom
I have it on my lg V40 it freezes a lot
Magisk may be causes the problem.
I have gone crazy whith this, I reset my OP5, I formatted it and installed Android 10 and it worked, I was installing things until the crashes reappeared.
I know it was because of Magisk because when I installed it, I had problems again but I read in other threaf that changing the name in Magisk options was the solution
It works.

Android 10 based MIUI 11.0.1.0 is available for Redmi 8 EEA. Is it bug free?

So the update was available for a while if you're on Global and it just released for EEA devices. I honestly thought that they'll skip it and only release the 11.0.2.0 version on EEA.
If what I'm reading is correct, it was released a while ago for China and apparently some of the Global users got it too, it it supposedly more polished and it has a few bugs patched.
Can someone who downloaded the Android 10 based MIUI 11.0.1.0 and used it for a while on their Redmi 8 report how stable and polished it is? Did you encounter any bugs? Is it safe to update now or should I wait for a patch or two?
Update:
I installed it and it seems to work fine, no bugs so far and the only "issue" I found was that the Search in Settings takes a bit more time.

Miui 11.2.0 android 10 for redmi 8 Nigeria
Android 10 update on Redmi 8 Global Edition Nigeria : Review
Today I received the much awaited android 10 update on The Xiaomi Redmi 8 series and having awaited this update eagerly I was curious to explore the new fixes and features this update was to have .
Overview: the update named miui 11.2.0 global had a whopping 1.9gb as size on notification.
It took me approximately 13minutes to download it on MTN Nigeria 4g and installation was very smooth via the bootloader .
Restarting took a bit longer than normal for a first start bearing down almost to 1minute 23 seconds than the usual 50 seconds boot time I had due to first time start.
Unfortunately and much to my disappointment and anguish. This update came still based on Miui 11. I know, I know I am disappointed myself, I wanted miui 12 so bad.
Transition on miui 11 was normal and my entire set up was untouched , however I did notice that I had the gesture bar beneath the screen which I promptly disabled. This i hope is a sign we would get miui 12 soon.
There was no lag when I went through the phone also I did notice that a couple of xiaomi's native apps had been updated notably the browser.
The miui launcher for those using the default launcher on Android 9 now has the app drawer ability enabling have apps in a drawer than on default home mode, although I had this feature since installed a direct apk immediately I bought the phone..
Bugs:
Then to the bugs. The android 10 release is basically stable with probably bugs I haven't yet noticed but two bugs were immediately very obvious to me.
Battery drain: unlike in android 9 , my battery dropped drastically more in minutes than I ever experienced in this device dropping from 99 to 97 in 2 minutes on use than the usual 5, it did stabilize as the device settled and being used to custom ROMs I did expect it. I would update about the battery life as we progress.
Google assistant: by default I enabled Google assistant by long pressing my power button for .5 secs since I used gestures but it didn't work, I noticed the assistant apps was gone and downloaded from playstore but it still hasn't worked. I do love the assistant and hope the next update fixes the issue.
Verdict:
In a nutshell, if your a tester freak like me, downloading the latest update won't be a bad idea but don't just expect miui 12 as you will be disappointed.
You can delay the download till you have miui 12 avaliable which I believe won't be long enough, best guess October .
Funny side : was it me or did I think my device was a bit lighter after the update, I mean I picked up device and it felt like some weight was taken off, maybe it's my imagination.
Tell me what you think about your update in the comment section below and follow me back

I noticed a few bugs in addition that you wrote.
Icon bug: If you turn off MIUI opitmalization, then some icons in the homescreen will be bigger than the others. In Android 9, I never noticed this issue. You can easily fix it by turning back MIUI optimalization, and force stopping the System UI and the System launcher(they 'ill restart if you go back to the home screen, don't worry)
Spotify bug: Since the update If I turn on Equalizer in the settings of the spotify app, then the music will sounds like an errape
And the google assistant is working fine for me
The deitals of my Redmi 8: 64gb storage, 4GB ram
Chipset: Qualcomm SDM439 Snapdragon 439 (12 nm)
CPU: Octa-core (4x1.95 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.45 GHz Cortex A53)
GPU: Adreno 505
I wrote the last 3 rows because I don't know if there is a Mediatek/Mali version of this phone
Europan rom (Locked bootloader)
Yeah, I also noticed a few bugs that bothered me enough to downgrade back to Android 9 for now, and while I was at it I installed MIUIMIX to hopefully get a bit more battery and a bit less spyware

new note 9 android update

soooo, i have a note 8 that stupidly got updated to android 9, which i can not stand for several reasons.
samsung still carries the note 9 with android 8, so i decided i'd trade in my 8 and get the 9. get the 9, power it on and go through the process of setting it up and what the heck do i get, it starts checking for updates and automatically updates the android version to 10.
does anyone know how to force stop these auto updates from the start when getting a new phone?
all help is appreciated!!! thanks!!!
