Fire 7th gen no picture - Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was trying to follow the guide to unlock my boot loader and when I got to the part where I'm supposed to short the pins after a few failed attempts and restarts my tablet just seemed to have died. All I get is a black screen. I've tried holding down the power button, removing the battery, plugging it into a charger for a few minutes till it boots up and nothing happens. When I plug it into my computer it shows up in device manager as MediaTek USB Port. I'm using virtualbox with Debian installed. Maybe virtualbox doesn't recognize my tablet? The tablet was also rooted before I tried this and had the nexus fire ROM. I didnt think that would be a problem since the pin short method just boots into the bootrom. Is there anyway to return to stock?

Nevermind. I got it. Never try to use faulty cables to do this. You have to manually select the tablet on VirtualBox.

Please Help! Phone is bricked?

I just woke up to a nightmare. I reached over for my phone and i found it dead unplugged from the charger. I thought to myself... "Alright, let's begin charging it... I probably forgot to put it on the charger last night"
I plugged the phone into the charger and the phone powers on...
After it boots, i it prompts me to connect the phone to my computer... Strange...
I plug in the phone to my computer and Zune pops up with c101002e error code.
Now i did some research and it looked like my phone somehow got bricked... so i found the following link and sure enough, my error code is on the list of known troubles.
The Windows Phone Support Tool is not working on my phone, After following the steps i get the attached screenshot error.
My next step is to reflash... however. Following These instructions, I cant seem to get my phone to boot into the tricolor bootloader screen!
PLEASE HELP! Any input would be greatly appreciated!
You say "After it boots, i it prompts me..." is windows booting before the error pops up?
The phone is off... i plug the charger in, and it boots as in it turns on. Once it turns on, windows does not load. instead it's telling me to connect to computer. I connect to computer and the error appears
already tried an hard reset??
Not able to perform a hard reset... I hold down both volume bottons while the phone is off and press the power/lock button to power it on. while holding on the volume buttons... the phone just goes to the connect to computer screen.
Try taking out the battery. Leave it out for a short while then replace it & check its securely in place. Reboot & see what happens. The phone shouldn't brick when charging or sleeping. Good luck!
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Might try this and see if it helps

may be the camera key is pressed down by the case and stopping it from booting
I do not have a case with the phone but i always did have a problem with that camera buttom... it does seem to be kinda pushed in... I hate this...
what is ur version???
just u can jailbreak the 7004 or 7008 by chevron...

[Q] Help needed in strange thing at GT-P7300

Hello for Everyone!
I've a SAM Galaxy TAB 8.9 (GT-P7300) branded for T-Mobile (TMH). There are few of strange things about it.
The first: can not communicate with my PC and with my laptop. On PC runs WIN7 x86, on laptop I use Ubuntu 10.4 (Studio). I had installed the USB drivers for WIN, and the only thing is happened after plugging the USB-cable WIN wrote: "Can't identifying the plugged in Android device". The Ubuntu doesn't recognize my tablet
The second: I can not reach the Bootloader mode, download mode. When I push the VOL down at same time with the POWER ON nothing happens.:crying:
The third: after some minutes of sleeping mode of the device (for example: charging, not using) it POWER OFF. Or...something like this...blank black display and nothing happens if I push any of the buttons. Pushing about 20 secs of POWER ON button resulting a reboot.
The device is in stock 3.2 .
Any ideas what can I do for rooting process nad for custom ROM?

On your second point, to reach bootloader, turn on tab, wait until the moment the samsung logo pops up, then press volume down (the one closer to power button).
To root, add custom recovery and ROM, read the stickies in the android development forum. These may help your other problems. There are several reasons why your computers fail to recognize your tab. I would try different usb ports and cords if you can. I would install kies on the windows pc and see if that recognizes the tab. If none of that works, it may be a hardware problem.

Thanx for your quick reply. There are few cganges about the problems. Here they are:
The second problem about the bootloader and download mode is off. I picked parts of the device and there was a liitle problem with the VOL buttons...repaired and everything is fine with it.
The first problem about the communication is half-solved. On SAMSUNG laptop without (!!!) any drivers works fine the device. Flashed with a "stock" 4.0.4 (Checz) no boot, just splashed on the SAMSUNG logo. After ODIN-flashed one-file other ROM it was very nice...everything goes.
But the third problem is here after the good-flashing, too. In sleep mode or long not-usage periods it is something like POWER OFF.... During the picking to parts period some of the pieces (battery, flexes) were supervised...everything is normal. I think the device's main panel is wrong, but I don't know how I could look at it and fix it.

GT-P5210 not booting

First of all, it's not my tablet, but a collegue gave it to me because I said I might be able to fix it.
But it's showing no life signs, I can't boot in any way, not download nor recovery, and when I charge it nothing happens neither. So I guess it would be hard bricked, but when I connected it via USB to my PC, I heard the windows-device-connected sound. The driver thing showed up, and it said cloverview installing. So I guess it's not hard bricked? By longpressing the power button, the windows sound let me now it disconnected, and when I pressed it again it reconnected. Could it be that the screen is just broken? But to power off the device, I normally would have to confirm it on the screen right? I tried booting blind into download mode and checked it with Odin but nothing.
But are these the normal Samsung drivers? You guys have any ideas? I saw a thread on how to unbrick it, but you have to unsolder capacitors etc. from the mainboard, and apparently the OP didn't test it out neither.
If someone has any idea that would be nice.

Kindle fire HD7 brick

Got red screen after bad flash dont know exactly what happened so used factory cable to recover my kindle fire hd 7" from the red screen?
Plugged in cable connected to pc and kindle screen displayed fastboot..all well so far..
Then I used this programme KFFirstAide and used

pressed return on pc then programme started then said rebooting kindle, kindle screen went black (no fastboot logo anymore) and it stayed black left it for ages and it did not come on again, eventually I removed kindle fire hd 7 from pc and tried to switch on but nothing happened I tried to connect it to pc again with fastboot cable and nothing happened pc did not recognise it,tried the same with cable that came with kindle and nothing happened. Have tried with no cables connected and nothing. have tried holding power button for 20 seconds then push power button again for 2 seconds but nothing happens still black screen
Is there any way to fix this now? anything inside unit I can try?

Kindle Fire 7" - 3rd Generation (Soho) Stuck at Logo Screen, Possibly Bricked

I was given an old Kindle Fire HD 7" 3rd Generation KFSOWI - Soho completely stock and was playing with it a bit and decided to try the KingRoot app (NOT KingORoot). It was going along and got to 35% then said it failed and asked if I wanted to try again. I clicked try again. Thats when everything went downhill. It rebooted on its own then displayed the all white Kindle Fire logo then moved to the brighter white and orange logo with the glimmer moving across the screen. There it stays now. It wont go any further.
I have tried to use Vol - and PWR with it turned off to try to get to Recovery or Vol + and PWR for Fastboot but after the all white logo it just shuts off. Its as if the recovery utility is no longer there.
I do have a Fastboot/Factory cable I made a while ago and when I plug that in it does get to Fastboot mode. However in ADB on my desktop it wont see it there. If I plug in a standard USB cable to the Kindle and let it go to the white n orange logo then ADB will see it and brings up the Serial number but instead of saying "device" it says "unauthorized".
I am seriously at a loss right now as I have been googling to to fix this since it happened and all the ready made utilities are for other generation devices.
I have tried the usual holding the power button for 60 seconds to turn it off and then try turning it back on but nothing works.
Im just not sure what can be done with I cant get to recovery and ADB either wont see it or says its unauthorized.
PLEASE HELP!

Classic FireOS boot hang. Tough to fix on older (pre 5th gen) devices that do not offer a way to reload FireOS from stock recovery.
Unfortunately, this is not the correct forum for your device (this thread is for 5th & 7th gen Fire 7). You'll want to repost your question here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hd
