Can some tell me if you can boot a kaiser using only the power cable or if u need some battery power?
I am having a problem with my kaiser's battery not charging and this quest would tell me if its the battery or its a hardware issue.
Miscellaneous info:
Kaiser boots but then dies because of no battery
Battery charging light comes on and battery heats up as if charging
while plugged into charger kaiser will not boot upon power button press
if i have any more info i will add.
Thanks for you help!

Battery power is needed. It's been that way on all the HTC and nokia phones I've ever had.
The phone needs to be running its low level software in order to activate the charger, which isn't possible if it isn't getting power from the battery in the first place.
Thanks for the info, that answser my question. Um so based on that is it possible my battery just died?
I have the Elocity A7 but have mixed the AC power cord with several other AC power cords we have. I think I found the one for the A&, but it doesn't have anything written on it pertaining to the A7. I looked in the manual and the AC power cord they show has an extra part on the cable (similar to the power cord for a laptop with something that looks like a 'fuse' holder).
What I have says APD Asian Power Devices. The barcode on the side reads: PK 100015-10-A00-10AI-03392.
Would anyone know if that is the correct AC power cord for our Elocity A7?
Model # WA-30A19U
INPUT 100-240V 0.8A, 50-60HZ
OUTPUT 19V - 1.58A
Yes. Your 100% correct. That "is" the power adapter.
netbook power
Also you can use a netbook power supply

Well that is a little vague.
You don't want people sticking just any plug into their tablet.
The charger that will fit and charge the A7 is one for a Acer Aspire One netbook.
wonder how much thought went into making the end of this AsianPowerDevice, { R u smarter than a fifth grader} innovation is not their cup of tea..
An L shape would have been much better..
For those that may not know, (L) or 90* adapters are available and should be used to prevent stress on port if you use alot when plugged in
I have a PC bought in January 2008. It has an Intel motherboard (I'll confirm the exact model number when I return home. All I remember is GMA945 because it's associated with the onboard graphics chipset)
The problem is that it doesn't turn on with the power switch. Earlier, it turned on when I pressed the power switch a lot of times but now it doesn't work. I'm not a hardware geek but I think it's a problem with the power button. I unscrewed the cabinet and reconnected the power button pins but it didn't work.
Help much appreciated. Thanks in advance. I can't download any nightly builds because all I have is a LAN and a slow 2G EDGE connection which I'm using now.
It's out of the 3 year warranty.

Take a flathead screwdriver and short the two power pins. If it turns on it's a problem with the button. If it doesn't then it's a different problem.
If shorting out the pins on the motherboard does not work. You can bypass the power switch by taking a piece of wire and bridging the green wire on your power supply unit with any of the black wires.
Same thing happened on my old midtower before. It may be that your power supply is fried. There are a few possibilities.

And that is a good test for a power supply if you dont have a tester. Take a paper clip. Unplug the 20/24 pin plug, stick one end in the green, the other in black. If the fans turn on, the power supply most likely is good.
Check the power supply first, before trying out risky quick fixes.
More than likely it popped the fuse

Okay thanks everyone. I tried shorting the pins but it didn't work. However, my friend who lives far away is coming to visit me today and he is a hardware geek so maybe he'll help. Fingers crossed.

is anyone using mi power bank2 with motoG3? the power bank output is 5V 2Amp. but motoG3 support 5V 1Amp. so is it harmful to charge with this power bank?
No problems. If the phone draws 1A then it will draw 1A from the power bank. (With a good cable our device can draw 1.3A). The harmful thing would be the voltage. If you connect the phone to a 15v power source, surely you will get in trouble. The power bank is rated 5v, the same voltage as USB, so you are OK
there is 2 mod in the MI powerbank... you need to double tap the power button to enable low power ( single blink ) and charge the device.
Hello Team, any one have got issues with MI MAX2 , as one day it switched off while playing mindcraft game , battery went low, now even if I charge with multiple devices, their is no charging light or if if you hold power button it wont power on. No Mi Logo...
Tried volume up/down combination , tried to connect all the connector's , still same issue..
One thing noticed while charging , the adapter wont heat up , nor any component on the mobile like battery , which was happening in normal working condition
Tried EDL (Emergency Download) , no response on PC device manager.
Please suggest....

I would recommend a very long charging session ( over night ) because if battery switches off caused of low power, it is very slow in recharge.

I tried to keep for 2 days , same issue.
Today I tried with new charging board, their is same issue, no power , no charging, no heat. 5 v is present during charging on main board.
Charging circuit
Any one is having the details for charging circuit on Main board , how to test ?
Same problem here, you got any luck?
Happened 2nd time, first time I connected it to xiaomi power bank and it started charging, but this time no luck with that method
(it could be that it was pure luck/coincidence)

I am unable to find the power IC part number as PCB is bonded with metal cover, I need to remove and check further , I did checked other component with millimeter its fine and getting normal battery voltage, I tried new battery and charging PCB, no luck , no power light on mobile or charger is heating, hence suspecting power IC failure , trying to source it to replace it my self.

I solved my problem...it was software...it seems it (wrongly) detected that battery is totally empty, and entered some kind of "refresh battery" mode.
I used USB voltage/current meter and noticed that it didn't charge at all for 2h (0A), then went through 3 phases: 0.46/0.32/0.13A, and after about 48h
I was able to power it on. Can't tell exactly how long each phase lasted, as I wasn't checking all time

Thank you for the updates, may I know which model you have used USB voltage/current meter ?
