Simple battery & power cable question - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Can some tell me if you can boot a kaiser using only the power cable or if u need some battery power?
I am having a problem with my kaiser's battery not charging and this quest would tell me if its the battery or its a hardware issue.
Miscellaneous info:
Kaiser boots but then dies because of no battery
Battery charging light comes on and battery heats up as if charging
while plugged into charger kaiser will not boot upon power button press
if i have any more info i will add.
Thanks for you help!

Battery power is needed. It's been that way on all the HTC and nokia phones I've ever had.
The phone needs to be running its low level software in order to activate the charger, which isn't possible if it isn't getting power from the battery in the first place.

Thanks for the info, that answser my question. Um so based on that is it possible my battery just died?

Battery Charge Issue

hi everyone,
I have issues with charging the phone, it takes a seriously long time to charge the phone. When the battery was at 20% I plugged it in to charge overnight(8 hours) and it only charged to about 50-60%. I've tried plugging it into both the wall outlet and computer and still have the same result. Could the problem be the battery, charging cable or that it is running on a custom rom?
any help would be much appreciated thanks
kind regards
Was the phone powered off ?

How long have you had the phone? It depends how often the battery is charged and recharged. Try to wipe battery stats in the recovery or recalibration to see it helps. Or it could be the battery is no longer holding the charge. Time for a new battery.

Only had the phone for a couple of days because its a second hand phone and like you suggested I've wiped the battery stats but that didn't solve the problem.
The phone does hold its charge so I'm concerned if I buy a new battery the problem would persist.
thanks for your suggestions

Some Roms are battery hogger.
Sometimes, screen is working but not full light and you don't notice reloading.
Sometimes, battery loader is damaged and loads really slower.
My Rom is a battery hogger, and my Data cable is a bit damaged ^^ If I don't power off my phone, It won't load enough to be noticed.

[Q] Battery issue

My battery drains normally until about 30% then the phone switches off without warning and will not switch on again until I connect it to a charger. Well it does switch on but shuts itself down before completely booting.
After connecting to a charger, it then reports it has 1% battery and is charging.
I'm guessing there is some issue with the battery calibration, how do I fix this?
Any help appreciated.

I use this one, but your phone must be rooted in order to be able to use it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration

I have tried this app TWICE, issue now worse, shutting off around 50%
I never had any issues with that app, but try hardware calibration then. The battery calibration starts with the phone completely off. The steps are as follows: Charge the device for at least 10 minutes using the original charging cable in a wall outlet. With the device powered off while still plugged into the wall outlet, press and hold the volume up, volume down and power button for two full minutes. Use three fingers to hold these buttons and do not let go at any time. They will be held in at the same time for this to work. After two minutes, you can let go. At this point, the device should boot up and battery/charging logic will be re-calibrated.

Doesn't matter. It's important only to keep your phone on charge at least 10 minutes.

Could be the battery.
Check the voltage of the battery. I use an app called Kernel Adiutor. My N6 is showing 4191 mV no charger connected. With charger connected the value is 4450 mV.

Before that you could check if the battery saver is disabled. Turn off the battery saver in the Settings - Battery menu.

Yep.
Typically if it shuts off the second you yank from a charger regardless of laptop or phone or anything its a battery issue. The cells arent holding a charge. Your able to boot into android and stay on while on charger so everything is fine evidently software wise... but that battery isnt holding the charge so it flops out.
You can either order the part online and do the change yourself which isnt too bad on Nexus or if your still under warranty then send it in.
