How to do a clean flash - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hello I am on Evolution X latest build custom Rom. I want to do a clean flash of the same rom.
Can anyone give me a step by step guide to do this and restore my phone settings, rom settings and apps to exactly how it was before the flash? I've searched a lot on the web but everyone gives different advice it seems.
I have orange fox recovery and am rooted.

Use mi flash tool with official rom file from here c.mi.com/in/miuidownload/detail?guide=2 (use desktop to download fastboot rom) , do not flash with clean and and lock option ,, your problem will solved with this method

Choose option clean all only after flashed you rdevice wil boot into orginal miui rom

all changes in system settings app has to be done again, for everything else, you can use a backup tool and use the "backup data" as well.
for clean flash, just wipe everything except vendor and internal storage and flash rom, backup, magisk, dfe, reboot

What is the exact problem you are facing when flashing the stock file. PLEASE EXPLAIN FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDNG.
ELSE YOU CAN TRY THE BELOW.
NB: I AM ASSUMING THINGS AND GIVING THIS INFORMATION, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS AS I DONT KNOW THE EXACT PROBLEM YOU ARE FACING.
Make sure device is 100% battery.
1st try this:
1-Download this file: [ https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_1zjuazXSqbQ0p6NWtvRk9OMzA/edit?pli=1 ] and install in Windows (Run as Administrator).
2-Open Command window and type:
Code:
cd c:\adb
3-now on your device use Vol keys to choose and power key to select, and choose FASTBOOT
4-now download the attached file boot_signed.rar (extract the file in C:\adb folder)
5-type in the command window:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
5-type in the command window:
Code:
fastboot erase cache
6-type in command window:
Code:
fastboot reboot
IF THIS DID NOT WORK, THEN TRY THIS:
Download this [ https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934555508 ] file and rename it to 0P8BIMG.zip and place it into the SD card (MMC Card), restart the device and let it boot into the HBoot menu.
Reboot device from the boot mode, if the device automatically reboot into the boot menu then it will start flashing the file automatically.
Good Luck, let me know how it went.
Try and let me know.
this is excellent, all in one place...
However, please forgive my ignorance in recovery/backup terminology (I hope it is not just me) but I get confused by the use of 'Nandroid' backup, Stock Rom, and .zip and .img files for flashing.
I have successfully used TWRP to flash the NostromoPop ROM, but have not been successful with any other .zip file supposedly a Stock ROM.
I have been hoping that somebody could put a rooted Stock ROM so that I can try it as a way to get around the KitKat blocks on writing to the SD card for some of my autosync apps.
Am I making any sense?
Many thanks if you can help

Hi,
As I understand you cannot flash a stock ROM with customer Recovery, as far as I know you need stock Recovery to flash a stock ROM, I remember trying stock ROM on TWRP but it failed, could be due to some other reason, I read somewhere it has something to do with file signatures.
As for SD write fix, you need to have root access other than that there is no fix for it, rooting with SuperUser Binary... I myself did want to try it now that I am back on stock but then I am greedy for Marshmallow (if they could fix that Loud Speaker issue) I am all in for Android M, I tried to get in touch with people on the Cyanogen Forums but no luck as I have not yet received verification email, tried so many times, no luck and as it seems there is no Marshmallow development on HTC One Mini 2....
I will wait and see how it goes...
If I am correct you can keep stock ROM and flash SU Binary and get root access and then install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix to get it done with, it ought to work, haven't tried myself...
The recovery image you gave seems a little broken, but the backup worked...thought I recommend a factory reset unless you want the system language to be weird...

Which recovery image have you used, I have flashed the newer version successfully, yes the backup worked and has non-English language as default.
The command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery_name.img

Hi,
I believe you flashed a recovery with another recovery, which I think is not the right way, the right way is to use the command to overwrite TWRP with stock recovery.

HI,
Just wanted to know if you are having any issues with low audio after restoring Android backup from TWRP, I feel my audio is way too low and cant be heard just if I am outside my room..
I didn't have any audio problems, it could just be you being used to cm's 3rd party BoomSound replacement

Well that would exsplain why some elements of the stock recovery remained after I reflashed twrp with a app on my phone, e.g. it fixed the image I get when I hook my device up to power when it is turned off...before that it would just boot me into a unusable twrp homepage
The stock RUU file is corrupt! (tried 5 times now)
Where can I get a A stock flash or a ROM that is NOT ROOTED please?
I tried the 0P8BIMG.zip on SD card method and that did not work either.
Also, I thought the RUU file is meant to be an executable not a zip file. I'm confused...

I doubt its corrupted, which OS are you running currently ?, when I tried it, it failed due to the installed stock ROM being newer than the one being installed and since I have S-ON I cant downgrade it...
You can Nandroid Restore the stock backup, I have personally tried and it works....
Another way to do it is to have the Nandroid Restore and then use Sunshine to S-OFF (as sunshine only works on stock or near-stock ROMs) and then flash with 0P8BIMG.zip, it should work then, just a thought...
Hi, thanks for these links & info. Just about to give this a go. But, what does boot_signed.img do?

Its a signed boot file, meaning it flashes successfully should the device fail to boot or stuck on boot or in other words if the device does not boot and remains on HTC, this flashing this should solve your problem.
Hi all I have been directed here from another thread as I am looking to place a stock rom on my htc one mini 2 without bloatware, I have unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP but the stock rom remains the same all I want is to install a rom via TWRP if at all possible. Is the 1gig one ok for that or will i need to completely put the stock recovery back on and the phone is unlocked to all networks if that makes any different
Thank in advance

Hi,
Its not possible to flash stock rom via TWRP, plus you need to have S-Off.
The only way to go complete stock is to restore Nandroid Backup and then flash stock recovery.

Hi,
Yes you will have to restore the Nandroid Backup, this backup is completely of a stock ROM, no edition, however it does not have some apps like the Calculator, Flash etc for some reason.
However I found the missing apps from here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-corporation/

Excellent much appreciated for this right, so I need to first copy the nandroid backup to my Phones root and run TWRP and restore using the downloaded nandroid yes?
if yes could I please have the steps to put the stock recovery on with ADB commands as I really don't want to brick my phone (Yes I know you take no resposibilty etc) just happier to have as least the correct file names and adb commands.
And last I just copy the new stock RUU to my phone and install?
You help is as always greatly appreciated as no one seems to be ddoing anything anymore for this phone

Moto G probably bricked.?

OK guys hi... I somehow managed to wipe everything from the phone.I mean everything. The phone boots au to the screen with the ''unlocked bootloader'' warning. Then nothing.if i press power button and hold volume down i can use the recovery menu and i can go to the TWRP menu. From there i cannot use the MOUNT>USB OTG option so the phone is not recognized from my windows.
The only option i see available is installing something from my SD card. But i have no idea what or how or if there's a way i can install again the original android files. When i try booting it says there is no OS.
Is there a chance fellas.?
The fact you have somehow wiped your phone I dont think you can recover any lost files but you can at least still use the phone. Try flashing stock, if you are unable to do this put a custom rom on the sd card and try flashing that.

I would recommend trying to flash the stock image first. I am unsure of what country you are in, the link below is for the UK filmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-lte/general/stock-6-0-marshmallow-firmware-uk-gb-t3337916
This also has the steps needed to flash the stock image.
You can flash a custom rom though if you wish. I have only flashed Cyanogenmod13 so I can not recommend a different rom although CM13 is brilliant.
to download CM13- http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=thea
for Gapps (choose ARM/6.0/ then I choose the pico but you can choose what you want- http://opengapps.org/
Once you have put them on the sd card flash cm13 then gapps straight after then just reboot, done.
Take your Sd card out to an other phone or card reader then copy the ROM and flash it

The stock image is not for flashing in recovery, you need to flash it with "mfastboot" on a pc using command prompt.
It seems CM13 will not flash as I take it you were still on Lollipop?
I will PM you steps on how to use mfastboot.

If you can already enter TWRP then just download a Thea CyanogenMod firmware and Pico Gapps for Android 6.0. Then flash the CM ZIP and then the Gapps ZIP and then restart in normal mode.
---------- Post added at 06:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:45 PM ----------
And one thing more. If you flashed TWRP for titan (XT106X) flash it for thea if your phone is XT107X. Then try to flash a XT107X Cyanogenmod firmware.

Downgrade OOS 4 to 3.5.4.

Hi everybody,
I have a probleme with my OP3T.
I have upgraded the OS from 3.5.4 to 4, but I don't succed to root the phone, mainly because of the TWRP (flash with 3.0.3.0) that doesn't access to the SD card (twrp asks a password I don't have, so that stay encrypted).
When I try to follow this guide, I always have an error with the recovery stock (recovery downloaded from the oneplus support) during the sideload step (I also try to dowload the rom with twrp, but no success...)
So my question:
Does someone can help me to come back to 3.5.4 until twrp is supported by 4.0 ?
Thank you very much
I'm in the same boat. When sideloading 3.5.3 ota it fails after approximately 45%.
I had the same problem. Steps I did in order to make phone functional:
If you don't have TWRP, you have to install it.
Then, you should wipe your phone entirely from TWRP (Factory Reset, Format Data, Advanced Wipe->Dalvik/ART;System;Data;Internal Storage).
Reset the phone and enter TWRP once again.
Copy the official ZIP with OOS 3.5.x ROM into phone's memory, then flash it.
Flash SuperSU, otherwise your phone won't boot.
I don't take any responsibility, in case you mess something up with your phone.
Okay, my solution was to: 1. boot up in fastboot mode 2. Disable encryption by opening a command prompt in administrater mode and type fastboot format userdata. 3. Install 3.5.3 from Twrp.
Not ideal to disable encryption but now I got a working phone

Thx. I might have forgotten to reset the phone after wipe, before installing 3.5.4 which is why it wouldn't install even from twrp. My solution worked though - encrypting it again will be for another day. Sick of geeking
So once you have working 3.5.3/4 can you return it to stock - I mean by relocking bootloader and reflashing stock recovery? So then to receive 4.0 via OTA?
Thanks

Yes, it's entirely possible, but what's the point? You can flash stock recovery->lock bootloader->sideload OOS 4.0, and you are stock . From what I've read, not everyone got 4.0 through OTA yet.
Do you have to be on a specific version of twrp to do this? I cant flash 3.5.4 back using the latest twrp (3031)
EDIT
Never mind all OK, was just begin inpatient

Do you have a link for the stock 3.5.X recovery? Link from O+ download section won't work..
They provide the so-called Oxygen Stock REC for OP3T here: downloads.oneplus.net/
But I always got different MD5 after downloading the img they provided.

It will work with 3.0.3-1 TWRP but you have to flash the ROM twice because of filesystem and put the files twice on the internal memory. Reboot recovery twice forced.
I think TWRP 3.0.4.0 should work better but I do not used it on my phone to restore from 4.0.2 to 3.5.4 so you could try and let us know

I tried using TWRP 3.0.4.1,
I was able to flash. thing is, while flashing zip in twrp, it won't show any progress for 2-10 minutes.
then it will show finished flashing

I want to share my experience,
Latest TWRP 3.0.4.1 made all difficulty easy,
I was in oxyzen os 4.1.6.
then tried sideload, it fails,
then installed TWRp and flash 3.5.4 via TWRP, (have to flash data, system, cache, internal storage) before flashing,
then it just booted, no issue

Stock system and vendor partitions with FACE Unlock (Indian Version)

Assalamu alaikum people,
Presenting you with the stock ROM system.img for our Honor 9 Lite. I received my phone yesterday i.e. on 22ndMarch'18 so, this ROM is the latest preloaded ROM you can find. I have ordered the device from India so the ROM is Indian version. I don't know if the international version is any different or not. This system.img has the face unlock feature. The ROM is pre-rooted using Magisk but you know that Magisk is system-less root. So, I don't think the root still persists. It is untouched stock so expect all the bloatware to still be there.
And some people are telling me that Face unlock does not work. Try flashing vendor partition too. That might bring face unlock
Instructions to flash the ROM
I tried fastboot flash but it did not work for me. It showed up a weird error. When I did twrp flash, it works. So,
Put the system.img into your SDcard
Reboot into twrp
Choose Install
Select the "Select Image"
Select system.img
Choose to flash to system partition
Reboot. Enjoy

The ROM is pre-rooted using Magisk but you know that Magisk is system-less root. So, I don't think the root still persists. It is untouched stock so expect all the bloatware to still be there.
Instructions to flash the ROM
I tried fastboot flash but it did not work for me. It showed up a weird error. When I did twrp flash, it works. So,
Put the system.img into your SDcard
Reboot into twrp
Choose Install
Select the "Select Image"
Select system.img
Choose to flash to system partition
Reboot. Enjoy
Please someone download and flash and verify it works. It works for me but I am not sure whether it uploaded completely or not. If it is broken, I will re-upload tomorrow.

No. system.img is a different partition. It does not include any recovery. Neither stock nor twrp. Your recovery has the partition of recovery_ramdisk.
Dear @aveemashfaq,
Thank you for the clarification. Can i have the stock recovery then?
Thanking you.
Thanks

And some people are telling me that Face unlock does not work. Try flashing vendor partition too. That might bring face unlock

Bootloop after "Factory Reset" from TWRP

I tried to perform a factory reset from TWRP cause it wouldn't let me from Configuration>Reset and Restore (or something like that), and after a reboot system didn't launch, it said something about an encryption problem, so I decided to restore a system backup I did and now my phone is stuck in bootloop. Someone can point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Yeah TWRP and Stock are at odds with each other.... You must fallow the guide to make TWRP and Stock compatible with each other when restoring.... alternatively you can try to flash one of the custom ROMs and see if it boots.

I tried with LineageOS but no luck. In fact, I tried to install LineageOS before I had this problem and even when TWRP said "Success", the phone booted into stock pie rom

When? When installing LineageOS? To be honest right now I don't remember exactly what I did, but I'm 100% that I followed the write-up in the TWRP thread step by step.
Which slot should I select to install a custom rom?

When you install a ROM made for the V40 if your on Slot A when you boot into TWRP then the ROM installs in Slot B and if on B the it installs into A. But gapps and other flashable zips install into the current booted slot.
So flashing steps would be
1. Boot TWRP
2. Check which slot your on in the reboot menu
3. Flash ROM
4. Flash the TWRP recovery IMG. To ram disk
5. Go to reboot menu and select opposite Slot
6. Select reboot recovery and swipe to reboot
7.flash anything else gapps etc.
8. Reboot into your new working ROM.
