It's got the Qualcomm X24 modem, which is baked in to the Snapdragon 855 SoC.

Sorry, my bad, thought the X24 done all radio communications.
The WiFi is the Qualcomm FastConnect 6200, which is also baked into the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855

Variants (3G, LTE, etc)

Hi,
I'm buying the S5 today and wondering about which variant I should buy? I can't find any info regarding this (which one is 4G, bands, etc). Even tried Google... Any help is appreciated.

If you live in an area with LTE coverage and plan to use it, go for the Snapdragon 801 variant. Look for the specs on the box, if you find the LTE logo and LTE bands listed as well as a 2.5GHz Quad-core CPU type, that's the one. The Exynos version will list HDSPA+ at connectivity and say 2,1GHz Quad core + 1,5 GHz Quad Core, indicating the 8 (4+4) core SoC, that one doesn't have LTE.

confused with LTE Band 20 800Mhz (Germany) Snapdragon 652 vs. Helio x20

Hello, I want to have LTE Band 20 800Mhz (Germany) and confused about the different SoC Snapdragon 652 vs. Helio x20.
Depends B20 on hardware or software and do I need a piece of extra software beside the lineageos ROM for the LeEco le 2?

No Support For CDMA On Exynos?

Is it still true that the Exynos modem doesn't support CDMA networks? Every international s10 model I find shows GSM only in the spec sheet.

Nope.
That's the reason why Samsung still uses Snapdragon cause the exynos they make doesn't support cdma
Actually, I think the newest Exynos chips do support CDMA at least in part. I'm not sure it's fully supported but the weird relationship between Qualcomm and Samsung probably has something to do with it. Samsung actually makes the chips for Qualcomm so they sort of feed each other.

Any mod to unlock the other lte bands and wifi ad on Strix/Tencent model?

Hello there!
So, I was wondering if it's possible to enable via software the wifi ad and the other lte bands and higher categories, like the ones in elite and ultimate models. Afaik, the comms hardware is the same.
So... Anyone?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Hardware is similar yes. But LTE chip and WIFI chip could be different so then LTE BANDS won't be the same as elite one. So answer would probably be no.

MediaTek Dimensity 900 launched

MediaTek has launched the Dimensity 900, a new 6nm chipset in the mid-range and this contains some excellent features. Which brand do you think would be the first one to use it?
