Hi
I encountered a lot of Bluetooth problems with the newer roms - so which is a rom which runs smooth and has great Bluetooth performance?
Thx!

Lineage OS 16 for microG, or Lineage OS 16.
For both of this rom use also Tuned Kernel.
Debloated, Xposed and rooted Stock!
By bluetooth performance, do you mean one that doesn't constantly crash? I constantly lose connection to my bluetooth headset and the bluetooth on the phone seems to constantly crash.
I'm running LineageOS, Android version 9. It's really hard to even see what version of Lineage I am running because there's a long puke up of numbers next to the build number that doesn't make any sense.
If you want a flawless working with Bluetooth and the S5 you must install the stock ROM. It can be a debloated version, which is the best solution for me. With all Lineage builds you have problems. I think this is a general driver issue. Samsung wouldn't give out the code.
Same **** with sound and camera drivers. No stereo sound on self made videos or 60 fps rate.
Sent from my Samsung SM-G900F using XDA Labs

Hows the performance of Android on Topaz compared to an Android Device with the same hardware? I am asking because I am thinking about buying a used Topaz or a new Android device and they shouldnt cost more than 230€. I already have a windows mobile based device, but I think that there aren't enough apps ( or rather it takes to long to search them).
I want to be up to date with the Android version and I read some threads about flashing a Android device and thats sounds very difficult compared to installing XDAndroid on Topaz. What should I buy?
If you want to work on android permanently get an a phone that uses android out of the box.
Android is not running properly on the Topaz.
There are some severe problems that I am very sure will never be fixed.
e.g.
battery running low pretty quick
no camera
no gps
no SD-Card(as far as I know)
problems with wifi/3g
etc.
So if you wanna use android get an android device..

gps working
sd card is used by system
wifi working
its quite fast
the only thing i am missing is sound and battery life
yeah i agree, if you want a perfect android phone out of the box, get an android phone.
the htc pure works great with android right now, but battery life is shorter then would be with an android phone and sound isn't yet working perfectly. its still under development and it will be a while before its perfectly working glitch free and as a replacement for windows mobile.
not a good idea if you want to use it as your actual phone. nice for testing and proof of concept.

you mean call sound ? external speaker dont work.
external speaker isn't working. Call sound is working
external speaker doesnt work for apps( e.g. pandora, music, videos, youtube) but the external speaker DOES work in call. like if your making a call and you click speaker, the sound will come out of the external speaker.
Get tp2 better phone

Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App got that runnin Android on my tp2 which I'm posting frm an I get about 7 hrz battery life
I was just wondering if anyone else was having problems with a bluetooth headset using Cyanogenmod 10.1? The call quality while using the handset is great, but when I use my bluetooth (Jawbone Era, Motorola Sliver Elite) the call quality is absolutely terrible, the person can't even hear what I'm saying.
I say Cyanogenmod because that's my favorite rom, but it also happens on AOKP, PAC, ParanoidAndroid, and pretty much every other Vanilla type Rom.
Any help or suggestions?
The same problem with Jawbone Era. All works fine in Samsung stock 4.1.2 ROM.
Yep. I have this problem, too.
Bummer, as I'm writing a Bluetooth headphone round-up for a magazine this month, and I can't review call quality without borrowing a friend's phone.
Known Issue
Hey guys the bluetooth isssue your speaking of is a VERY well known issue in CM its one of the few bugs that is still being ironed out. Its also present in basically every other aosp type rom because they are all based on CM. The awesome cyanogen devs are working on it constantly and im sure they will get it figured out :good:
So if you here any reference of an "upstream" issue in a ROM thread its most likely referring to it being an issue in CM and therefore the ROM in question. :good:
Bluetooth car connections drops and really bad audio quality when on call.

Hi everyone, I have used PARANOIDANDROID in the past for Samsung Note and had a great experience using it. Just installed the PARANOIDANDROID on my new HTC one.
I am having two issues that are forcing me to go back to a stock rom,.
1st) Bluetooth connection with car, when calling the audio quality is really bad. The person on the other end cannot understand what I am saying.
2nd) when on a call with a headphone /w mic and connected to my Mac, the mass storage keeps going on and off. This affects the audio quality of the phone call.
All other issues that have been reported here I am OK to way for, but the BlueTooth issue forced me to look for a stock ROM for now.
I hope the great the people working on these Rom ( Paranoidandroid and Cyanogenmod ) can fix these issues quickly.
no bluetooth for voip apps
I've tested CM on note I and II, the same issue shows up, I cannot use bluetooth with voip apps. Same goes for 10.2. Too bad
hi:
im about to trade in my cm 9 for cm10.1.. mainly for the sake of bluetooth support..
ie.. bluetooth earphones, keyboard, mouse , tethering might be handy at some point.. how many pairings at one time is the max?
i dont really go in for flashing daily..
so i would like to know what the most stable and feature rich rom is usable..
it seems that "Jcsullins Full CM10.1 Bluetooth Build [20131210] based on Milaqs Nightly builds" would be best for me.
any opinions/ user experience/ advise, etc would be greatly appreciated.
thanx
Works great for me

I flashed 20131210 yesterday and it works fine. Bluetooth seems solid but I haven't tried tethering. It is fast and smooth, battery use seems about the same as every ROM I've used.
Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to look at this.
I'm having an issue where if I run any CM based rom I get "com.bluetooth.android has stopped responding" when connecting to my Mazda car stereo or my jawbone speakers. I've had this issue on every version of CM that has been out since November. If I use a stock based rom, everything works fine and I don't have any issues. It doesn't matter if I'm using 4.4.2 or 4.4.4, the previous scenario still holds true.
Any ideas what I can try in order to solve the issue or at least narrow it down further?
I really like flashing different roms and checking out the awesome features everyone has added, but I unfortunately need my bluetooth to work properly.
Thanks in advance for all the help!

Ha. I have the exact opposite problem. I have a 2013 Subaru Outback and every AOSP rom works perfectly and any stock rom has issues. Calls work fine on both stock and AOSP based roms, but media playback has always presented a problem for me on stock roms. On AOSP roms I can play Netflix, Youtube, music, etc through my car speakers but I can only get Play Music to work on stock roms. Sometimes on a stock rom, Youtube will play for 2 seconds but then cutoff the audio. The video will continue to play, but the audio is lost. Very strange.
I've searched around a bunch, and it looks like i's not an uncommon issue, but it doesn't look like there's a systematic solution. I assume there are too many variables (car makes, models, years, stereo upgrades, Nav options, etc) to be able to isolate an issue. You just have to keep trying different iterations.
Keep me posted if you find a solution.
Hello everyone,
I have an old HTC desire 510 running stock 4.4.2 version 1.19.661.4. I am having some car issues, have an ODB scanner plugged into my car and using Torque Pro on my phone to connect to it through WiFi. This phone will always remain in my car, i will use it to monitor my car (speed, fuel usage etc). It will be running in real time. But i have been noticing some lag when the app is reading the information so i was wondering what ROM would be the best to use in this situation where i will only be using one app on my phone. Don't need to use any other app, not even messaging or email. I need a heavily debloated ROM I guess? 32bit? 64 bit? Maybe a custom kernel too? I don't mind rooting.
Any suggestions?

I actually gave my Desire to my sister, but when I did use it I really liked Cyanogenmod on it. The cameras don't work but it sounds like what you're using it for doesn't require any cameras. I'd go with CM 11 because 12.1 has a wifi bug so it'd restart everytime you loose your connection to the network (So everytime you turn off the car ). Cyanogenmod is nice and lightweight, and you can customize it to your liking.
As for the kernel, I didn't really experiment a lot there so I can't help much.
Btw you can't just choose a 32 or 64 bit OS, it has to be compatible with the phone. The International version is 64 bit, and you need a 64 bit os with that, the US version is 32 bit, and you need a 32 bit os with that.
Revmod ROM with pattiboii's kernel is what i'm currently messing around on. TWRP for recovery is very useful on this phone. Also linux on this computer made fastboot 100x easier than on windows.
Most people use these devices for wifi and mp3, basically an ipod. And Revmod has viper4audio GLITCHY with DOLBY bass boost, but working somewhat with headset, havn't had a chance to bluetooth with it much, but will in a week or so after i have my headset.
So, i've decided i'll get viper4audio working on a kernel, notcwmod. Also, revmod gives me about 800ish MB of storage after gapps and everything, so it's a great one to build off of. . . wish i had a source, for the ROM, but i do for a couple kernels
Oh well though, i'll figure it out, and probably in a month or two you'll see a finished ROM on here, but can't test service, as this one doesn't have service.
