all of a sudden my screen is smaller and even when i watch videos there is space to the sides on full screen. Home and screen and on any app too. it's like the top and bottom bezel look huge now
I've looked through all settings included dev settings not sure if this is also related to the google assistant "squeeze lines" which now appear on the bottom edges of the screen
If it's just when watching video try a open pinch should fill the screen again

Did you ever figure out how to fix it?

I started a new thread because I'm not sure if the app is not 100% compatible with a rooted nook.
When browsing, xScope will enter full screen mode, hiding the tab and address bars also the control panel on the bottom. I have full screen disabled in the options, so does anyone know what's going on?
There's an option regarding the notification bar. I can hide everything but the bottom bar.
The only issue I'm currently having is that a lot of the menus are white text on white backgrounds. If you press and hold you can see the menu entries which is workable for now - I've contacted the developer about the issue.
OK, I see what's going on now...
When I enter a text field, the keyboard comes up. When I'm done, the bars dissapear.
I've changed the settings so that the menu button brings them back, but is this normal behavior? The bars should come back on their own.
In xscope full screen, I have trouble pressing the buttons on the bottom edge of the screen, does anyone have that problem?

Same issue with the buttons in the lower corners of the screen. I have issues with other apps also where the buttons are in corners, bottom or not. Just seems app specific.

What I did was move the bottom bar to the top where it is easier to press the buttons and then I increased the screen density to 210. That makes the buttons larger and easier to press.

Yes. Really sucks. I love xScope and have had to switch to Dolphin Mini because of this problem. I love how xScope does text redraws quickly and without fuss. Not many other browsers do that.

I did that but find that it really makes it much more difficult to use the browser when you have to constantly reach for the top. I love how Dolphin Mini allows me to keep both hands at the bottom to do everything I need.
I want to have an experience where my hands aren't having to jump all over the place just to move along quickly through my daily reading.

I had also moved my bar to the top and its much easier to use for me...
Otherwise, I like the browser, but still haven't figured out how to easily close tabs.
I honestly find Dolphin a bit easier to use..

For xscope, just tap a tab to close it.

Hi,
So i noticed when setting up Go SMS and other apps that i cannot use my finger to touch the edge of the screen.
For example: when setting up a font colour using the sliders in Go SMS i cannot slide the colours all the way to 0 or 255 with my finger.
It stops at 4 and 250. If i want to go to 0 or 255 i must use my s pen.
Anyone else have this issue and is there a solution to fix it?
Ive attached an example of finger use and s pen use. This edge problem is in all apps.
As you can see, where i drew lines with black using my finger it would stop drawing around 3-5mm from the edge.
Thanks
Neil
Just noticed that!
Yes that's really strange.
I actually never even noticed this until now since I checked.
I'd also be interested to see if anyone knows the cause of this. Whether it's hardware related, or software.
I just tried this, the faster I swipe to the edge with my finger, the further away it stops, but if I do it slower, it goes right to the edge.

Gets worse when charger is plugged in.

I just found that in S-Note, with S-Pen set for left-hand, I can't quite color to the left edge, but can hit the very edge on the other 3 sides. Switch S-Pen to right-hand setting, and can hit very edge of S-Note page on all 4 sides.
Definitely can't get to the very edge with finger, on any side.
yes i too noticed this problem while using sketchbook mobile

Bloody hell...I just realise I am having the same problem...tried to increase some settings in a program...the slider just stops moving about 1/4" from the edge....with fingers..

Having the same issue too...particularly when trying to get the side menu open on dolphin browser... its almost like 10-20 pixels are not touchable.....
Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I have a heck of a time swiping from the top corner to reduce an app into pen window. Try it in chrome and see what you get.
I either end up pulling the notification shade or swiping tabs. After 10 tries I might get the window. what am missing?
If your talking about pop up window I was having the same problem, here's what you do.. Swipe the corner of either the right or left side down but go ABOVE the screen a little start from the bezel where there's no screen and you should get it every time.. Hope this helps
Yeah that's it. Sorry, they used to call it pen window on note 3.
I'm still struggling with it.
Lol im opposite of you. They get swype too easily!....though I wonder if screen sensitivity increase have anything to do with it
It also doesn't work on everything.. No homescreen, you have to be on the browser or other applications for it to work..
Pen window was a different thing all. Together where you would draw a little box with the pen and a few applications would come up, this you don't need to use the pen for it to work, so if you're using the pen it might make it harder try what I said using your finger and see if it helps..
I'm not using the pen at all. I just tried it a bunch of times and I get better results (not 100% but much better) if I swipe quicker and from the corner of the PHONE, not the corner of the screen. Just about what Melissa recommended. But for me speed seems to factor in too.
Good I'm glad it's working better for ya! ?
Try near very corner, where it says PM/AM ...starting from the status bar...pull down past the bar, then i towards the center. You'll notice that if you go straight down the shade won't move.
That's usually where I reach to pull the shade down and kept wondering why it wouldn't come down the first time I try it.
are there any videos or picture tutorials of this? I'm really having problems. Granted this is my first Note device, but I haven't ever gotten it to work even one time.

It really is as easy as it sounds. Put your index finger over the front facing camera in the upper right corner of the phone then slide your finger diagonally across the screen towards the bottom left. Works for me every time as long as the app support it. Not all apps work so make sure you are using a supported multi-window app.

Yeah, there are 'dead' zones on both ends of the status bar. After you pull down from the dead zone, just swipe towards the center. You can actually pull down about 1/2 inch and it will still work.
I'm very embarrassed to report back, but I had never turned on "Multi-Window." Perhaps my noobiness will help someone else!
Thanks to all those who offered help!
I've noticed a smudge at the bottom of the screen just above the 'home' button. It's like when you press on a calculator screen and the lcd bleeds everywhere. Most noticeable when pressing down near the bottom on a white screen like the blank open page of chrome browser. It is however always there even on dark screens?? Any ideas? Anybody had this before? Thanks

same thing here, think they just didn't give the screen much support in the center do it's bending slightly?
I guess I'll just get on with it. I really don't want to return it just to get the same thing again.
I struggle with the keyboard on this device constantly missing the space bar now my hands are not small I'm 6foot 2.
Any one else got an issue or solution?

I'm 6' 8" and I use Google keyboard without problems. Maybe try another keyboard. Swiftkey seems to be popular amongst many. My biggest problem is my gigantor thumbs either pressing multiple keys or the wrong key (love auto correct for this) but I don't miss the space bar. Are you using the material theme or holo?

I'm using the default white theme (the one that looks new)
And OMFG your 6 foot 8? This phone was made for you!
Cheers for the reply

Indeed, however I still use two hands at times. I don't have any issues with being able to reach the back key though lol.
Definitely try some third party keyboards, there are tons to choose from.
6 foot 6 here, no problems using SwiftKey tho. You can resize that keyboard. Maybe try that out?
No problems
6 ft 2, no problems with the size of the space bar. Never tried SwiftKey, like the black themed keyboard.

No solution. But yes, totally confirmed. I keep hitting the "b" button when going for the space. The odd thing is that the rest of the board is fine. Just that space. I think the bottom edge of the sensitivity region for the bottom row should be moved up a bit, along with the upper edge of the space key.
