Hi ALl,
Like many others I'm also facing this Discoloration issue on my Note 9. So wanted to flash stock ROM on my device. I have downloaded stock ROM using FRIJA app and tried to flash that ROM. However, I'm unable to enter into DOWNLOAD MODE. I'm following this thread currently.
as per instructions, Switched Off my mobile and I have connected my cable to device then holding BIXBY + VOLUME DOWN button connecting cable to my PC. Instead of going into Download Mode Its getting charging there. As it was switched off, simply showing battery percentage.
Please help me to get it done if I'm doing anything wrong here.
PS: As mentioned in thread I haven't switched on developer options & USB debugging mode.
Thank you

Hi...
I am trying to upgrade the firmware of my Galaxy Si9000.
When I connect to Kies, I get a pop-up saying my firmware is PHONE:JP2 and a new upgrade PHONE:JV4 is available. I tried upgrading but once the process starts,
First I get an option to Backup Data.
Then, I see a window which says "Preparing device for Firmware Upgrade"
And that's it. After some time download begins , in between 50-60% its stops
The screen on the phone stays with the working man but nothing is being upgraded till the moment when Kies asks me for firmware recovery. Unplugging the phone and restarting brings it back to its original state.I tried doing 5 to 6 times but no help.
Any idea???
My Galaxy S is currently running on Android 2.1
Kies is updated to the latest version.
and
i also tried with the manual firmware update or any other custom ROM firmware update from the trusted source provided at AndroidAdvices.com, but the problem is my device doesn't go in download mode (Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button)...plz help me out........
1. Dear kumar, have you tried to multiply your question even more? I saw that you already asked this question in "Ask me for anything..." thread, and you have started new one... Maybe you shall ask in SG General? Maybe in SGS2 threads?
2. Buy a jig from eBay to go to download mode...
samsung galaxy si9000
instead of buying Jig ......is there any other alternative way to go in download mode?
use "adb reboot download"
You can update using the Heimdall One-Click from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330491

Turn off your device completely. Hold Volume down + Home + Power for 5 Secs. Then it ll boot into download mode, Now press volume up button for Download mode confirmation. Now you are in download mode. on the left top corner you can see details about your phone. and it should be like below image (This is image of S2, But it looks like same as in N7000 also)

Ya.. Thats just a warning before entering download mode..
I'm working on a Galaxy Note 5 that I am trying to reset the firmware on. Someone's installed a custom build (that's verified in the "about phone" details) and it co-opts the volume down button boot sequence, so I can't get into download or safe mode. I've attached a screenshot. Has anyone seen this before and how to I purge this thing?

Your image isn't showing.
Image not showing
Ok, let's hope this works as a link to the image:
This happens with the power-volume down and power-volume down-home sequences, so I can't get it into safe mode. Someone's definitely put a custom image on, but I'm not sure how to clean it/replace it.
The power-volume up sequence works fine, but since this is a custom image, it won't get cleaned off by wiping the cache and/or factory reset.
Apparently, since I'm a newbie here, I can't post external links, which makes the forced external URLs for images a little useless to me right now...
Can't you just power off, boot into download mode and Odin a stock firmware, then re-root after?

That's the thing - whoever did this co-opted the sequence to boot into download mode - power + volume-down/power + volume-down + home. I did find a way to do it without needing to go into boot mode, but I can't post the link here because I'm a newbie! That should solve my problem - I'm just setting it up on Linux and I'll keep people posted on the solution.
What's happened is that someone's basically done a custom firmware/kernel combo that makes it impossible to get into download mode, so you have to totally backdoor it. When I get it working and verify it, I'll post the solution here.
To enter Recovery mode on the Sprint variant shut down the phone, Hold both the assistant button and vol down button, then insert the USB cable attached to a computer. Unfortunately, recovery mode appears to not have the drivers in the kernel (due to it being an alpha as far as I can tell) to open any connection from a PC. (No ADB sideload, and cannot or will not mount an SD-card). As far as I can tell, there really isn't any use for it without being able to get a PC connection, but I'm posting this just in case somebody smarter than me can figure something out.
hello, for a couple of days looking for the possibility to get root permissions but unfortunately I can't find solutions. I currently own a LG G8s ThinQ (LM-G810EAW). I find only previous root permissions to this smartphone. Thanks a lot for the collaboration

@bilatche What happens if you hold down the Power button for at least 10 seconds?

absolutely nothing.... I have tried to recharge the phone, but still booting on DL screen....
The only solution I see : go back on last stock firmware via odin.
I will try this week.

If you're unable to reboot the phone, this won't help you. Have you tried holding down the power button until the phone does something?
nothing with long press on power....
here is the screen appearing 1 second at boot before being stuck on DL screen:

I will see if reinstall stock rom fixes the DL issue...
maybe it's an error due that I didn't have flashed vbmeta after twrp ?

You don't have the official firmware, you need to flash the official.
