Hello!
I recently purchased a note 5, and I lose about 15% overnight, if my Wi-Fi/3G is switched on, and around 10% if all data is switched off. Please check the attached picture and tell me if there's anything abnormal. Thanks!
Nope it is not normal. I have the same exact issue after the AOJ5 update and it is driving me crazy. On N920c if i leave the phone overnight I'll wake up to a dead device. I have posted about it on samsung developers too which got ignored. Flashed another kernel and checked the wakelocks and it seems like its an issue with the wifi. Something has to do with wlan_rx_wake. I really don't know what else to do.
Have you tried a factory reset and building your apps up slowly to see if there's an issue with one of them. Also, Better Battery Stats is very good at identifying what is keeping your device awake. My recollection is that that wakelock comes from a data request.
Also, perhaps worth trying to see whether you get the same behaviour with wifi off?

I was thinking of a factory reset. Will it erase my internal sd, as well?

I have done factory resets maybe already 10 times. Nothing changes. I have even tested out with no 3rd party apps installed everything stock. The drain is still there.

Right now I have the arter97 kernel and it doesn't help the drain at all. The same issue continues. But I noticed that on some wifi networks the drain is worse than on others. A temporary solution is to keep the wifi off during sleep and turn off the phone at nights. I'll try to get some screenshots of the wakelock detector and better battery stats later.

I can confirm that putting the phone on airplane mode solves the drain issue.
@Octa_core did you try installing the debloated stock Rom?

Well, my rom is pretty much debloated. Just clean stock samsung rom without any carrier bloat. I did purchase the package disabler pro at some point and disabled all the unnecessary stuff. Still no luck. I wrote samsung a feedback on their website. Try also leaving a feedback about the issue if you can. On the samsung support website on top right corner look for "feedback". Then select technical issue and describe the problem. I guess only samsung can fix what they have broken.

As you're rooted why not try a custom ROM - at least then you have a controlled environment. I am on Dr Ketan's L5 with his modified stock N920C kernel and it's great. If you still have the drain with no apps and no bloat installed on that ROM you have a fault.

Hi,
After updating to June Security Patch , I have some problems

I tested both
and another problem is Sound , when the media volume is high playing in musics or videos sound will be laggy (it will be mute for a bit and playing , and this will repeat)
I tried Factory Reset , anyone else has this problems?

Well now even my speaker is beginning to have problems with high sounds. Dream phone ? I will try to send it on warranty and I will see...
I also have this problem, noticed it after i updated to october security patch, tried reformatting multiple times but to no avail.
In my case not only the camera app force reboots my phone.
Speakers also have the same problem, at a certain volume level the sound breaks /lags.
Hopefully this is just a software problem, my phone doesn't have warranty anymore...
Did you try factory reset? Did it help? I am going to try it cause I need my phone for work and I don't want to be 30 days without phone.
No factory reset did not work, but I noticed that keeping the phone plugged into a charger keeps it from restarting.
Yes I have it same... It can be only problem with battery maybe.
Yeah, best to have the battery checked and replaced, hopefully I can find a service center here in the Philippines

Hello, I brought mine to the service center and they replaced the battery and now its fixed, good thing i was under warranty so it was free of charge

I try to fix it from the care center.
They need to replace the mainboard, battery, and the loudspeaker. South Borneo, Indonesia needs approx 3 weeks for the indent parts. Fortunately, i still have the guarantee. Tomorrow i will give the device to them to fix the problems. Hopefully it works best result.
Just FYI, from my experience.
Yeah, same problem here. Phone restarting on opening camera, and when while watching video with volume above 66%
I've tried factory reset, and even reflash stock room but still doesn't work. Maybe it only happened with android pie? Anyone try downgrade to oreo?

I did every possibilities, did not work.
Downgrade too, manually by my self.
Downgrade by the care center also did not fix it.
Sorry to say it.
Its the hardware, dont know what cause it. Best possible its caused by the update. May the software cause the hardware broken..? ??
HMD, please... R u serious 2 produce a flagship phone?
Same problems here. HMD is crap!
I purchased this device in October 2017 and the problems have just amplified like crazy.
After the April update, random reboots, distorted audio, ultra slow charging.
A lot of money down the drain as this phone has NO RESALE VALUE either.
This is not a flagship. This is a phone made of all the leftover reject cheap hardware materials and hence it sounds good on paper.
The only credibility it has is because of Google and Qualcomm.
Honestly, after 20 months of use, I can say I've never used such a horrible device ever. This phone is pure headache.
what a disappointing phones by Nokia, disaster, disgraceful to users. I think this i s my last Nokia phone (at least last by HMD)
Guess what..?
Ive been waiting for 3 weeks for the repair.
The care center said rhat i must wait for 2 more weeks and then they will tell me the approx time to wait for more.
So,
3 weeks passed,
2 weeks more to wait an info,
Dont know if that after the 5th week the device is ready for use or not.
Wasting much money to buy this one.
I feel sick at once
Nothing like this. HMD is the only one who did this ever.
I too facing this problem for the past 3 weeks or so. Random restarts especially when starting the banners camera. Someimes 2or 3 such episodes. The problem with the sound cracking at high volumes I've been having for 2 months now. The problem increases when the battery guess below 40%. And decreases when it is being charged. ?? A battery issue. Maybe not because otherwise I've a decent battery life.
So recently many users were saying that the four core were maxed out to 2.2Ghz, I faced the same problem, so instead of rooting my phone and putting the CPU governor in On demand/power saving I tried some methods and bought the clock frequency to 1.1Ghz/1113Mhz. I'm still not sure how this happened but here are the things I tried
After a full day use yesterday nearly 3hrs of screen on time and my battery percentage was left to 37% so, I charged my phone to 90% cleared the cache using fastboot, uninstalled useless apps like clash of clans, pubg, Internet speed meter, and some other.
Note clear only cache
And the results see the images. I can't guarantee that it will work for you, but it worked for me.
As you can see I don't have root accces, so this is done without rooting.
Check for some more time and report here
I can report that clearing cache (complete wipe) totally worked in my case. I had this issue and i reported it to xiaomi, anyway.. i was going through the process of rooting and enabling HAL3 for google camera and the phone was completely wiped (I did not play around with the CPU ) anyway surprisingly the battery life improved so yeah it might be a cache problem.

No it does'nt. At least for me. I've unlocked the bootloader (which wipes everything) and changed the scaling governor. This was the 'default solution'... I've experienced the problem 2 more times after that, but it is waaaay less common...

If you can, and you're unhappy... why not? I mean, this bug happened in pixel 2 XL months ago and was fixed. Its a software problem and it will likely be fixed in the future, but an ETA only Xiaomi can give you

For me i was just playing around and unlocked the bootloader (wipes everything) and re-locked the bootloader (also wipes everything) but i didn't change anything and the problem seems to go away like today i had 37 mins SoT with only 9% battery drain so by this rate the battery should be drained in almost 7 hours SoT and that's really good IMHO
Someone can post the complete process or give link with the process?

i did all could be done , problem emerged when i flashed custom rom , since then i had excessive hot , flashed stock firmware and just getting worse
is knox tripping the cause ? if not , then what ?
What you're saying shouldn't ideally happen. I've had Samsung devices for a while now, almost rooted every single one of them & found that the performance actually got better. Check for water damage, it's highly unlikely but it may be a culprit. If the problem persists, take it to Samsung (we all know their track record with heating batteries)

Knox being tripped would not cause overheating. Don't suppose an app you have installed is causing the issue?.
If your convinced the phone is overheating even if on stock firmware, I would think the problem is hardware related.
I suggest visiting a Samsung service centre.
IDK know about Knox problems but I have been having issues with Android 10 ever since I updated. It runs great for about 10-12 hours and then something happens... It starts getting hot, runs like crap, super slow, the face recognition will stop working... It gets do bad I can barely unlock the phone. A reboot seems to fix the problem but only temporarily. Inevitably it does it again
Edit: and just to add to that, when it's running good I get much better screen off battery life than I did on pie. Seems to run smoother but that may just be me. The battery life however is hugely different. I keep track of deep sleep stats and battery users with bbs and Gsam

i can say the one mistake i did was flashing the wrong version of lineage 17 ( accidentally and wiped all at once) , that where everything started , i was flashing many wrong roms in my ex-phones when i was very newbie , but non of them had overheating issue

My RN10Pro is experiencing a rather serious issue. I was about to open a game (Fate Grand Order), it freeze then crashed. Then no sound was playing at all on any apps (youtube, music ,etc). It also cant record audio from mic. No audio from calls. Can someone help?
Other Symptoms:
- Dolby Atmos is stuck in Toggle ON. I cant turn it off. I always left it OFF before the problem. I havent turned it on before.
- Going into sound effects in settings result in crash and error.
- Poweramp music player reports "No Audio Device"
-ALL APPS dont have any audio.
- No audio comes out even if I plug in my Earphones with a mic.
- Plugging my phone to charger doesnt create the Charge sound that it usually do.
METHODS THAT I HAVE ALREADY TRIED.
- Factory Reset - I have tried 2 factory resets already. Both didnt work
- Restarted phone multiple times - Still no sound
- Tried Safe Mode - No luck
- Cleared cache from Boot Screen. No luck
Any help pls T_T

As long as you are on seller's OS, try also to give them a call or write to them. This way you'll get both "official" assistance there and FOSS here.
If the official does not help, you may always try to unlock the bootloader and to install the same (but debloated) Miui OS or try a free one.
Hope you manage to resolve the issue. We all know how time and mind consuming are all these troubles. Good luck!

There is no one and sole answer to your question. It depends on the hardware components, on how you use your phone and even on the sequence of installations.
For example, I unlocked bootloader on my Redmi and installed CrDroid which had a very good battery run time. A couple of months later I had to reinstall the OS because after OTA update I lost root and could not regain it via usual tricks. So, clean installed the same CrDroid. And now the battery consumption is visibly higher. Why? No answer. I have to search for new tricks.
So, even if you found an OS which fits your needs, you are not guaranteed to pass next years in a small country house contemplating roses.
Hello!
Having the exact same problems. Phone became defective on its own. Never rooted or flashed. All of a sudden Adobe Audio is stuck on and no audio, no recording or playing videos and no mic function. I can only write and browse with the phone. If anyone found a solution other than a motherboard swap let me know.

Nope bro, still havent solve it. Based on some research I have done, the root cause might be a faulty mainboard. . I just reverted to using my old Samsung A50 for the meantime.
same is happening with me from yesterday

Same with me...
The front cam stopped working on 1st July,
Since last 4 days (29th September), the mic and speakers are not working.
In fact, the phone doesn't even boot normally, only safe mode works.
In safe mode too, cam, mic and speakers don't work.
I took a bug report and sent to Feedback team. No response since 2 days...
How effed up am I?
Did anyone try qfil rom ?
I emailed xiaomi italy. i had bought the phone 1.5 years ago and this is obviously a factory defect. Since moving houses and everything i have lost the original box of the phone with the bill in it and i dont have proof of insurance even though xiaomi told me through emails that my imei shows that the phone is under warranty but they wont take it in without a bill from the shop i got it from. the shop now post covid has closed bcs of the general crisis Italy is in.
i believe it strongly to be a motherboard or speaker problem. a redmi note 10 pro now flies around 150-200 euros new and a motherboard costs 100 euros. i can fix it myself because i am technically able but i dont think it is worth it. i bought an iphone 11 pro max and im keeping this audioless phone that i cant do much with either until someone finds another fix for it or its battery swells and damages the frame hahahah. might work well as a tinder only phone to hide from your gfs too ahahahahha.
my phone just did the audio thing on its own. one day it was working fine then the other day:
Dolby atmos stuck on
no audio from anything
every video or app that uses audio freezes. only rear camera works but sometimes decides it doesnt want to and only for taking pictures.
reboots became instantly no joke 10 minutes long. like to the point i was worrying it was never going to boot. all this 2-3 weeks before i did my first comment on this thread.
i feel like this is a disservice. xiaomi should aknowledge this problem and maybe take back all the defective redmi note 10 pros and even if they ask me to pay extra for a redmi note 11 pro or 12 i will but take at face value what i paid for their phone already and offer me a solution. i was able to take care of it but what about people who this is their only phone and have no possibility of bying another one a snap of their fingers just because their main is broken. i always used xiaomi products. love their phones and everything and i understand this is a factory defect that might happen to 0.01% of all redmi note 10s but still own up to it as a company.
I have the same problem and when I sent it to the service they said that the motherboard needs to be changed. It's really silly. A phone should not break where it stands!
