Hello guys! Today my phone was in direct contact with the floor... It has broken screen (broken glass and black screen) and cannot be turned on. When I'm connecting phone to the PC, the diode is flashing every second, but PC doesn't see it. I want to recover all the data (if it's impossible, just a photos) is it possible to do it in home? Or even in some kind of a service? If so, what's the cost of this recovery? Never done any rooting etc.
Just have the screen replaced. Most phones will not connect to the computer via normal user methods if the screen does not work, because you have to unlock or open the screen, and also to click the selection for the type of USB connection. Even the best option under this menu, called "media transfer", does not show the entire phone. If you want to do something better then that by recovering the files instead of repairing the screen first (by taking it to repair shop), you will need to learn to use the search engine better then this.

Hi everybody, I need all of your brains, because my brain stuck at this point.
Yesterday I got a phone (Samsung Galaxy A3 or model SM-A310F) from my neighbor with an damaged display. He told me the phone fell into water, but run after drying normal (I saw a video, isn't the phone water proof?) but then it fell to the ground and since the phone doesn't recognize any touch. I checked it and told him that I need to take a look inside because the glas is in a perfect state, I could see anything on it but, as I said, no functional touch. Hard-Keys are working fine.
The first thing what I does, was to restart the phone with "Vol- and Power". I thought the phone were now bricked, because the boot-up seems to be endless. After I let the phone work for approximately 5-10 minutes, the Samsung logo comes up and Android was there but again, with no touch.
So, as I said, I opened the phone, took a look inside and was very confused, because two wires were broken and some electrical parts near the display plug and the plug itself had a white covering, I think from the water damage before. Anyway, the phone is running but after I opened it, the screen got black and never come back. I cleaned up the parts and the plug and tried again, now when I press home or power, the screen is flickering on the left for a short time and is then black again.
At this point I said him that the phone is broken, because it is not clearly if the screen is broken and/or the mainboard, too (because of the white covering).
My neighbor asked me to recover the files and the contacts. I told him it is hard, but not impossible. My plan was to install a recovery, boot into and to adb pull all the files to my computer.
But: USB Debugging is DISABLED and the oem lock is on, too, so I failed trying to install twrp with odin. I just get a fail.
New for me: you can control your phone with your computer mouse and keyboard, so I thought, I can just accept the MTP request and simply drag and drop the files... but nope, the request just pops up, when I connect the phone to the computer. So I can't use my keyboard AND the connection to my pc...
Adb doesn't recognize the phone, because of the disabled usb debug (and even if I can figure it, I need to accept the debug dialog while connecting).
So, this is your part, anybody, any Idea to install something or just to recover the files?
My ideas:
Mirroring APK (to mirror the screen to my PC, explored that with MyPhoneExplorer)
Custom Recovery for stock recovery flashing (flashable zip)
Downgrading (but will definitly stuck in a bootloop, because I can't delete the data)
...
What do you suggest?
Buying a new screen isn't an option. I don't know anybody who can "borrow" me his screen.
I'm really a android geek, not someone as you are, but more than "normal users", so if it difficult, it is not a problem.
I also accept some tips with the screen part. I attached the picture, which I tooked for him. There you can see the white covering AFTER cleaning (it is almost there at some spots... I don't want to break more).
Thank you alot!
Kisses from germany =)
Sorry! I posted it in the wrong sub =( Can anyone please move it?
Ah I would like to update this thread:
I bought a new display, had some problems anyway but now I got a new phone =)
Hello
I have purchased a p30 pro recently. Yesterday, while using phone, suddenly the screen colors got washed out, then after some minutes the screen went full black. I believe touch is working, just the screen sometimes draw some subtle vertical lines and no image appears.
I'm not much concerned if the phone works or not in the future, but i have very important files in the phone that i need to retrieve and i believe if i send the phone to a service center it will be reseted.
Any suggestions of what i should do?
I've tried:
- Pressing the power button 20 seconds while phone is connected to tv whith an usb-c - hdmi adaptor. Huawei logo appears on tv but after that screen flickers with black. If i was able to have the pin screen there would've been great as could install an app to send fles to cloud after.
- Tried with the PC suite HiSuite, but since mobile is locked with pin, it cannot connect to do backup.
- Tried to insert the pin in "blind" by touching screen
Would appreciate if someone could help. Is there any way to enter the initial pin to have access to mobile, but without using screen?
Thanks
P.S. Phone didnt felt or anything, just subtedly washed on the faucet with just water as it was bit dirty (like 10 hours previous to failture). Wasnt submerged either. Will try to put it on a rice bowl eventually, but an IP68 phone (Pro) i find strange, i have done that several times on my old S8 and never had an issue.
Phones are NOT waterproof. Have seen several liquid damaged iPhones and Galaxy phones. Most likely the phone is liquid damaged. Second likelihood is damaged display. Rice will make it worse. You’ll need someone, a mobile phone repair technician, to open it up as soon as possible and remove the corrosion with IPA or an ultrasonic cleaner. The longer you wait, the worse the corrosive damage becomes. Look for a shop that's competent enough to remove the rear glass without cracking it. Franchises are generally less reliable.
You can use HiSuite to retrieve files or even preview the contents of ur display , thing is you have to find a way to press the accept button for the usb authorization when asked from the phone.
EDIT: Just saw you used the method but your phone is locked with a pin so i would suggest to try the blind method to unlock the phone.
Solved, thank you all
Was able to unlock and backup everything, was lucky
Hi
Recently I smashed my screen on my note 9. The phone still worked fully but a couple of days later I got a vertical green pixel line on the screen then a full green screen.
As far as I can tell the screen still responds to inputs if you know where to touch just that you can't see what your doing!
Samsung quote £270 for a screen repair. Am I going to need a new digitizer or just the glass?
There are some signs of life - when the phone is put on charge the overlay shows up and when I get a text message the overlay and 'screen flash' show up.
I'm trying to recover data in my secure folder and get access to stuff like my Google authenticator. I can't transfer any data wirelessly or through cable because I can't see the screen. Also tried Windows 'my phone' but can only see pictures and text messages.
Any advice on cheapest way to get my data / screen back?
Hi! My phone fell off recently and the screen suddenly turned black with some dead pixels coming when tapping the unlock button or the fingerprint. So the phone is working but alas the screen is not functional. I´m going to send it over to google since I have warranty over it, but I´d like to know if there´s any way to backup any files I can from it (pictures mostly, audio, video...) before I mail it off and lose it forever.
When I plug the phone to the PC with USB cable I get the usb sound and the phone seems to charge, but I cannot select USB data transfer mode. Any idea of how could I take my files? Thank you all!
Bump, Same Problem here.
Without being able to manipulate Android system via the touchscreen, the answer is unfortunately no.
That being said, since it's a Pixel, your photos should be backed up to your Google Photos account.
If you have adb already enabled on your device these might help.

Hi everyone,
I have a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G with a broken screen, and I need to enable USB Debugging to access and backup my data. Unfortunately, I can't see anything on the screen, making it impossible to navigate the interface.
I have tried using a USB OTG adapter and USB mouse, but since the screen is unresponsive, I cannot interact with the phone. I am unable to access the settings or enable USB Debugging through regular means.
I'm seeking advice on alternative methods or solutions to enable USB Debugging on my Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G without relying on the screen. I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to proceed.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
cndroid
you cant
Well, it's difficult, but not necessarily impossible.
Does screen mirroring over USB connector work?
Do you know if the touch screen still works?
Do you have an absolute position digitizer tablet?
Have you considered buying a screen? You wouldn't have to really install it, just hang it.
Can you flash a new boot image?

Then there is my own Swiper app, but that's complicated to use too.
As it was not on debug mode / developer mode, i can't take backup using cmd prompt/ adb mode. thinking to buy comptable LCD screen on ebay and fix it myself and take backup of phone. highstreet shops are asking £70, which is not worth for this phone.
Yes, but there is a difference between the cost of a replacement screen that you just wire off the back and an actual screen replacement.
