Android Studio (ARcore + Sceneform) - Android Studio

I'm just starting out in AR and using Android Studio (ARCore + Sceneform). Using Maya to export an FBX file with embedded media checked. Using a blinn for some of the object's body and a semitransparent shader to represent glass. The issue I'm running into is the semitransparent shader is showing up 100% opaque in AR. I tried the following:
1. Blinn shader, made it semi-transparent by sliding the 'Transparency attribute' slider to the center (gray). In Maya it looks great, I export FBX load it into Android Studio use my phone to AR and nope, it's 100% opaque.
2. Blinn, Driving transparencies using a texture with gray values in the 'Transparency attribute' using a file texture. Again this doesn't work.
3. Blinn, a PNG file with some transparent areas in the 'Transparency attribute' using a file texture. Again same issue, no transparency.
Is building shaders in Maya a bad idea? If so what would be a better alternative that translates correctly? Also, I just found out about the Stingray PBS shader. Will this be the best option in Maya to use with ARCore + Sceneform? Would it be better to build the shaders in unity if that will translate material information correctly?

[Theme][Pandahome] Windows 7 High Quality Theme [22.12.2009]

Hello @all,
tonight I am going to publish my first Pandahome Theme.
I tried to let it look like Windows 7, I hope I had success
This theme took me 3 days. Many pixelwork
Well, here is a list of some Features:
-Windows 7 Wallpaper
-Windows 7 transparent Taskbar
-Windows Logo Orb placed on tastbar, shiny when pressed
-Windows 7 icons for Android Apps
-Background of drawer is transparent with blue-turquoise colors
-Clock has been replaced with a blue one, with windows shiny logo in the middle
-Delete handle replaced with a recycle bin, which is empty until you put an app onto it, then it becomes full
-The ugly orange app selection has been replaced with the transparent blue of WIndows 7(doesn't work with widgets, its not pandahomes business)
-XML-file changed to use png instead of jpg for background and drawer
Just unzip and copy apt file on your sd-card, then add and apply it in pandahome.
I tested this on my Galaxy with IK4 Firmware and 1.8? Beta Pandahome.
Works very smooth and stable on me.
PS: Theme doesnt look so ugly like the screenshots, its because of the sdk.
It would be cool if someone could help me with the digital clock in the upper right. I'm trying to move it to the bottom right, like windows, but i couldnt do it so far.
Have fun!
EDIT: There is a "gedrückt" on the second picture, it means "pressed".It's there because I posted this Theme in a german forum before.

Sharp Beautiful Background Quality

i found this here on the forum, but this info is for optimus 2x and it says as follows:
If you want the backgrond to be sharp, set the background with the app Crop Wallpaper and set bpp to 24/32. (Open system/etc/init.d/bpp file with Root Explorer and edit the "16") Then you have a sharp, beautiful background.
How to do this on our black p970??? HELP???
This belongs in general, not in Development. Please post appropriately in the future.
SORRY glad you fix the post location...any help guys????
Used this app before, it was good because it will crop your picture properly and able to add dither and 8bit transpency color if the picture color gradient is banded, not too perfect but very good result
And to make your picture sharp, default gallery app also can do this, just use a launcher that able to strict wallpaper to portrait, gallery will obey it. Or, if you want full landscape, edit the file with photoshop, resize it to 960x480. Add a bit "unsharp mask" in filter > sharpen.
About init.d folder, there is no bpp folder in there.

[TUTORIAL] Fit Wallpaper to homescreen

Hello everyone,
Have been seeing a lot of posts regarding questions on how to fit wallpaper to your center screen. As we all know, when trying to fit wallpaper, it ends up zoomed and the central object get's spread over all the homescreens. Haven't found an app that does not distort the image so I tried modifying the picture and found it's works great.
Just to be clear, I will show yo how to go from this:
To this
Requirements:
-Photo editing software. I use Photoshop but probably GIMP Paint.net or other software could do just fine. It's easier if it has guides and layers support.
Steps:
1. Get a wallpaper obviously. Any size will do since as we will be cropping and streching it. Got mine from here
2. I've attached the Photoshop template, which you can use as a guide. As far as I know GiMP opens psd files just fine. *
* If GIMP doesn't open it or using another image editing software:
- Create an image 960x800 px (default wallpaper size)
- Draw vertical guides/ lines at the 240 px, 480 px and 720px mark
3. Paste the image. Make sure that (in this case) the car fits between the first and last guide. this will ensure it fits to just one home screen
4. You now have to fill the rest of the image.
In this case, the background has a gradient so there will be no significant quality loss or obvious distortion if we warp it. Just select parts of the background, hit transform and drag.
If your image has a solid color background, just fill the rest of the image with that color.
If the background is more complex, and can;t use one of the methods above, you have to tediously use the clone stamp/heal tool to fill in the image.
5. You should be left with something looking like this:
Now just save the image, send it to your phone and set it as your wallpaper.
If you have any questions, I'm happy to try to answer them.
Cheers
Great tutorial .. Also had this problem many times .. Most of the time the app wallpaper set and save ( available in the market for free) did the trick.
Great tutorial. I like GIMP too for graphic editing without the expensive Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.
However, I'm lazy at times to log on my lappie, so I'm using PicSpeed Wallpaper app (from the Market) to crop and set wallpapers.. While viewing a picture in Gallery, press Menu, select Set Picture As (this is for ICS, I forgot what the option reads in GB), look for the PicSpeed icon and the text Set as Wallpaper. It then brings up PicSpeed Wallpaper cropping tool. It's working great for me, besides PicSpeed also has lots of nice wallpapers. There are occasion zoomed wallpaper issues with some launchers, but so far I have not experienced it on GO Launcher EX.
Good stuff!
Damn. I can't do it lol. I followed what it said but the image still zoomed. I don't know what I did wrong.

[FULFILLED][REQ] Upsampling zoom buttons and keeping transparency

Hey all. I've been trying to upsample these 64x64 zoom buttons from a 2.2 ROM I used way back when and I lose transparency when I try to upsample them. 64x64 is just too small for the Nexus 4, and when I upsample through Irfanview, I either get buttons that are too transparent or not transparent enough.
Can anyone upsample them to 128x128? I posted this in the Nexus 4 subforum and no one has replied

Hey guys. I've used Irfanview to resize the attached PNGs (they are zoom buttons, to be placed in framework-res.apk) but I haven't been able to resize them without messing up the transparency. Technically, I'm upsampling them, which seems to be ok. My only problem is that I don't know how to change the settings such that I can keep the transparency base, but have the "-" and "+" opaque. It ends up being completely transparent and impossible to see on a bright background.
Could anyone upsample them for me? They are 64x64 and it'd be nice to have 128x128. Also, could you provide me some details on what settings you used to save them?

The png images are attached to the above post. Just go to that thread and you'll see them on the OP.
Well, Irfanview is a bit foreign to me, but I used pixlr and it was a very simple conversion. I attached the pngs if anyone wants to use them in their own ROMs.

App icon smaller compared to other apps on the device? Margins cannot be removed

I am using android studio version 3.0. App icon smaller compared to other apps on virtual and real device, I've done whatever can be done in android studio and in android asset studio, trim, don't trim and change shape, always my app icon smaller after installing. Cannot remove padding of the icon.
I figured it out how to fix it by creating separate icons with different resolutions.
