my phone is not rooted and bootloader is not unlocked and my rom is stock

something similiar happened to me a while back. you need unlocked bootloader to change dpi settings with fastboot. your only option is to factory reset or better yet unlock the bootloader so problems like this can be solved in the future without any hassle. if u do find another way, would like to know.

I Fixed! My Phone Without Formatting it! using otg adapter to connect usb keyboard to my phone after that just type your password on enter password using desktop keyboard and then use tab and arrow keys to try to hit the enter button (this is a little bit tricky since it doesn't highlight key selected)key on the keypad and boom i just unlocked it and saved my precious Data! and restore the screen resolution using again xiaomi adb fastboot tool restored the default value of the screen size and density

Will the factory reset change the screen back to normall ? I have same problem as you, I am waititng for OTG cable and I hope I can fix it with using mouse. If the factory reset will fix the resolution then i would do that because I dont have important img and vids in my phone. **Please answer**

activate usb debugging over adb without recovery

The one of my gf stucked in bootloop. Everthing is stock and she didn´t updated it a long time. The problem is we want to backup some things, for example the pictures. I thought about backup with adb but usb debugging isn´t turned on. I don´t know how to activate over adb or if this is possible without recovery. When i install a recovery i need to unlock the bootloader an all thing are deleted.
So is it possible to activate usb debugging over adb without an recovery or is there an other way to backup?

You can only get adb connectivity when booted in a custom recovery or when booted in the OS with USB debugging turned on (USB debugging doesn't matter when in a custom recovery). When booted in bootloader mode, you'll only get fastboot connectivity.
There is nothing you can do to backup the files, like you v said, unlocking the bootloader will wipe everything.
There are 2 possibilities to recover the phone:
Unlock the bootloader, flash a recovery, flash a rom ---> will wipe the phone
Flash a RUU (if any available for your version) ---> will wipe the phone.

I have the same problem - but I was able to get the USB working.
Even though it is in a bootloop, as soon as you have access to the phone, go into the Settings and "About", the click the build number over and over until the phone tells you that you are a developer (i think it is 12 times).
Then go back (or if the phone bootloops, wait until you can access the system menu again) - then go into the Settings again and click Developer, and allow the USB debugging.
You should then be able to connect your phone to the USB, and access the hard drive of the phone.
From there, you have about 2 min during every bootloop to get any data/ pictures/ etc off of the phone.....
(sadly I'm in that bootloop craziness too, and trying to figure out how to get out of it without rooting the phone)

You got something very wrong. Bootloop means the phone won't boot up. It stays on boot animation and can't boot Android, so that means he can't go to settings or anywhere except bootloader menu or recovery. Most likely you had "system crash" error which is not anywhere near bootloop

Weird "To start android, enter your password" screen when booting up

I was planning to flash twrp on my mi 5 but while in fastboot (i didnt flash anything i was just about to) i remembered i forgot to put SuperSU in internal storage So i kept the power button pressed to boot into miui but instead i got this weird screen. (Not a Mi user) I've never heard of any such thing before but as last resorts you should be able to flash a Mi firmware using fastboot and Mi-Flashtool and hopefully get out of this problem.
WARNING:I'm not responsible if you brick your phone while flashing so do it on your own risk.
To start android enter password
I got this message today. Don't know how it appeared. Even tried your fast boot. still landed on enter password screen. Haven't set any password. Now phone stuck at this screen . Is there any way to get pass this screen? It is my third day with the phone. :crying:
Guess it's asking for the password of whatever mi account you used to log in your device before.
I got the same message today and I found a way to enter. I had a pattern set, so I just entered the numbers that the pattern represent
Sorry for the ugly drawing, but as you can see from it, the password is the numbers of the pattern, so from the picture the password you need to enter is 12358

it didnt worked for me.
Had this once before, and the password was simply what I had set before.
Did you have any previous password set?( Pin, Pattern, etc)?
Try with "default_password" this happened to me some months ago. ?
Your phone was encrypted.

Is it DEAD?

Hello, i do not know what happened but my phone doesn't want to show anything on the display. I was playing the new PES 2019 and first the display flashed 3 times while playing, then after maybe 10 minutes the phone stuck with image on it and the commentary sound. I thought that it might be usual and tried to hard reset it (volume UP + Power button). However the phone didn't show anything after that. Just the LED lights are working and when i try to hard reset again the screen flashes like 5-8 times and nothing appears.
Do you think that it might be a serious hardware problem or i should try to do something with the software?
Thanks in advance!

If you can get it to boot to fastboot mode then it can be maybe saved but if not it sound like something maybe died in the phone.
To boot to fastboot you have to have the phone powered off and then connect it to pc while holding - volume button if you get to show fastboot and rescue mode then you could try to get some thinks from internet unfortunatly to ublock bootloader you need to have a working system to get the code from because huawei does not give them out anymore so if you have still the warranty definitely use it.

Thanks for your reply. Actually the phone is working. The thing is that when i turn it ON and after that when i lock it with the side BUTTON and after that when i try to unlock it with the same button the screen doesn't show anything but the phone is ringing, receiving emails and messages - it just works. If i want to use it again i have to restart it using volume down and power button. I have got the bootloader unlock code, but i can not find a proper topic to follow, as the phone is HUAWEI EVA-L09 and it was locked to Vodafone.

Ye, but the thing is that i have to restart it every time when i lock it, which is a bit annoying. I still thing that it is a software problem, however when i try to get in fastboot mode i here the sound on the computer, but nothing appears on the screen, that's why i can not operate with the phone in fastboot mode.

It is now almost surley software issue if you cant get into fastboot with proper screen you can be glad that the phone still works but maybe the fastboot works just without the screen showing in that case it is quite ok you should try to type in fasboot console "fastboot devices" and see if there is some device found

After that since everything is working you shoud do downgrade and then upgrade that should clean every problem in huawei and hopefully the issue.
For the downgrade if you are on android 7 just sreach in google "downgrade huawei p9" there are videos and it is really not that hard (i think you dont need to unlock boot loader while doing the dload version)
And if you need you can unlock foloving this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/network-unlock-uk-vodafone-t3380287
just be careful everything will get deleted once you will want to unlock the bootloader i have never been unlocking phone with lock to vodafone or someone else so i cant really help you that much
and there is that think that you will have to pay like 4€(it is in the thread) to get the unlock of the network (but maybe you dont need it i really dont know i never had phone with network lock)

Huawei starts up with ERROR MODE

Hey. I have a huawei p8 lite 2017 and whenever I turn on my phone, I get this:
ERROR FUNC NO 8 (hifi image)
ERROR FUNC NO 1 (security verify failed)
Is there something I can do? I can't even access fastboot. If you got any idea whatsoever, please, send a message. I don't want to buy another phone. Also, if you need more info about the phone, I'll try to give it to you.
Hey,
If fastboot doesn't work or bootloader mode is not accessible, I only see one option : use manufacturer rescue update mode. You may try this (you need an micro SD card with a least 4.5 GB free)
download this image : PRA_LX1_8.0.0.400(C432)
Extract it and put the dload folder into the root of our sdcard (as your phone doesn't boot you cannot copy directly : you need to remove your card from the phone then use a card reader in order to copy the dload content, then insert it back into the phone)
Turn off the phone
Press power and vol + & - buttons at the same time
Once you see the huawei logo stop pressing power but keep pressing on volume buttons
It should restore your phone with emergency update.
If it doesn't work there is a chance that internal emmc memory chip is dead.

My friend is having this same issue with her phone.
The button combo to reboot to recovery or bootloader or the download mode don't work at all. It just boots back to the same screen. For us tho the error message is error 10 instead of error 8.

After some attempts trying to fix the issue my device definitively stopped powering up at all. It's probably a sign of dying infernal storage. I am sorry for your friend as there is probably no solution for his problem.

Thanks. I already told her now that she's been using it for so long it's probably dying. But she wanted to see if we could recover the data in it? I'm guessing that's not possible?

Maybe it is possible to retrieve data using adb sideload as the device still powers on but I'm not skilled enough to help with this. My new device is not from Huawei so I cannot test what is possible, sorry. Maybe someone could help you if you open a new thread. Good luck though

try booting into fastboot, if not, boot into brom and flash stock miui via sp tool
open up device manager to make sure everything is right.
boot into brom by holding VOL-, VOL+ and POWER, at the same time connect the phone to ur pc. if it does the connected sound, check on device manager if the driver is missing. it should have a warning sign, if it does then install the drivers i annexed below the post (ive used them and it worked, up to u)
after installing them, by the meantime ur phone probably has restarted, so reboot it into brom once again and check devices manager. if it worked it should look something like this:

Let me try
indonesian rom is fully compatible. sure u made something bad.
your bootloader is unlocked???? u have downloaded fastboot version? clean flash selected? write al steps u did with precision. i'm 100% sure is not a compatibility problem. i have installed indonesian rom more then one time without any problems
IF U CAN ENTER INTO FASTBOOT, U CAN RESTORE YOUR PHONE WITHOUT PROBLEMS. stay away from advanced procedures like restore preloader. First try the easyest solutions. If didnt work i suggest mtkclient under arch linux for reflash boot vbeta and preloader. But follow my tip: enter into fastboot and reflash stock using adbdastboot tool. Is the easyest solution
