Hey guys,
I have to wait the stupid 168 hours so I can unlock my Mi 9 Lite.
However when I try to install the latest MIUI 12 Beta it does not say sth like "Not authorized" but:
"Youre allow to flash the newest develop version published by MIUI forum from stable version only"
Does this mean that when I get hands on the newest MIUI 12 beta I can flash it even if unlocked?
All the best
Rob
Is better to not flash this, you can hard brick your device.

I bought this Redmi 4X yesterday, it asked for update and I did it. I'd like more of a stock andro experience but I'm not yet sure if I won't lose some camera capabilities (I never had a smartphone with camera that makes people look better before). So I read that Xiaomi gives different MIUI versions to download and supports this fully. But then I learn that "older" version of MIUI that I have (MIUI 7 vs MIUI 8 I have) has newer android 7 compared to my android 6. Why is that?
Is there any consensus on least bloatware on Redmis? Also, is MIUI the same as rom, or it's just an addon installed on top of AOSP? Sorry for asking such questions, but in my case I always understand things after I already have flashed some roms, but don't have any backup phone in case I brick my phone.
Current stats:
6.0.1 MMb29M android
MIUI global 8.5 Stable
8.5.2.0 (Mammied)
Hi
Sorry but did you buy a xiaomi smartphone without take any information about it ??
1st question : will you try to root & install custom firmware ?
If answer is yes, you should first use method to unlock the bootloader.
After that, everything will be so easy !
hello i need help i become today my xiaomi mi 8 with Global Stable rom and i like to install the Global beta rom via recovery thanks for help it comes.
couldn't verify. looks like current android version is different from that in the recovery package. Try flashing your device in the Fastboot mode.

You cannot go from STABLE to BETA without unlocking the bootloader, and you especially cannot do it from the updater. It must be flashed. I'm going to assume that you are trying to "update" to the new version with Android Pie. The Mi Mix 2S just a day or two ago received stable MIUI 10 with 9.0. Be patient and wait for the update for us as it should be arriving soon. Beta versions were intended for developers and for testing purposes and may have bugs. It really is not worth the trouble of unlocking the bootloader and jumping to a test version for a newer version of Android even more so when a "stable" version is just around the corner. Most things will remain unchanged from MIUI 10 based on 8.1.0 to MIUI 10 based on 9.0. People have been bricking their devices due to little experience with Xiaomi smartphones, and it would be terrible to see another one join the list.
How long we wait?
I've got a global mi 8
It's mid march, latest update is 8.1 Oreo Android with 9.6.6
I keep searching for updates and shows none

It's global stable rim
Android 8.1
Miui 9.6.6
Model m1803e1a
Bought on eBay all works fine just can't upgrade
If I download a zip file and try to install under system update - choose file it says the this rom isnt valid for carrier type or something like this.

Sorry for the late reply. I believe it may possibly have a vendor ROM. Your phone should have updated over a month ago to MIUI 10. At this point I believe the only solution would be to unlock the bootloader in order to flash the latest version. Unfortunately this takes about 30 days after the unlock is requested.
That's the 3UK version of global.
No updates as of yet, either be patient or unlock bootloader and flash global stable of Pie.
Yes. And to be honest, DO NOT rush for 9.0. There is severe battery drain on 10.2.2.0 and 10.2.3.0. I used to get 6+ hours of SOT (screen on time), on 10.2.2.0 I would get about 5hrs, on the latest 10.2.3.0 I get 4 hours. Others have complained about the same. In my opinion, the added features aren't worth the battery life lost.

We have 3 Mi8's in our house
Personally I am using the Mi-Globe version " globeROM_v10_dipper_9.3.21_cfg" it is fantastic! It has all of the features such as dark mode, AOD options, face unlock, charging animations, the best themes from all over the world and zero ads.
On the other 2 phones we have the official 10.2.3. While its not as good as 9.3.21 the battery life is still about 8 hours SOT.
Hi! Im quite new to this device. Unlocked bootloader ,currently on latest EU rom 9.12.27. pretty dissapointed with SOT time (around 5hrs). On global stable version MIUI 11.0.3.0 i had around 10hrs SOT.
My question is - can I install latest global MIUI and keep the root ? And can someone help me find .zip file of latest raphael global stable rom?
edit. And yes ,will I be able to recieve OTA updates and keep the root ,or I will need to root again and again after every update ?

Try the xiaomi.eu stable ROM, should be 11.0.5. You currently have the beta/dev version.
If that's no better and you want to go back to stock then look in the downloads section of the Mi Community site https://c.mi.com/global/miuidownload/index
Unfortunately you'll need to reinstall root after every update if you stick with official MIUI.
Hi Guys,
Finally waiting is over. It was officially released MIUI 12 for Redmi Note 8 today
Download Link OTA
Let's discuss pros and cons on this Rom.
1. Performance
2. Battery
3. Features
4. Improvement
5. Found Bugs or Lags
Cheers
Downloaded via DownMi. I cannot install it as i get the message ''packet cannot be verified. Sorry flash to this stable version is not allowed'' . Do i have to install via Recovery Mode? Do i have to unlock bootloader?
It's for testers registered in program. you can sideload it via TWRP
When i click on update button in settings i get a 2gb update of V11.0.11.0PCOMIXM . I didn't receive the newest v12 update yet
Nothing Android 10 Gesture
Do you know when it´s going to arrive as an OTA update? i think this beta is only for the ones who are registered in the MI PILOT

I have android gestures on MIUI 11, just turn it on
Hello, sorry for this noob question. For sideloading (TWRP), what's the installation instruction?
I think this version is only for BETA TESTERS because I download and try to flash and I can't, always got different errors, so if you are registered in Mi Pilot sure you can flash, I have locked bootloader ...
Basically what the title says, I just got a brand new Xiaomi 11T Pro and it came with MIUI 12.5.10. I know MIUI 13 with Android 12 is already available, and in fact the phone is asking me to update it, but I saw that apparently TWRP is (or was?) not compatible with MIUI 13, so...
Would it be safe to update or is it better if I remain in my current version in case a custom ROM is released for the device and it requires TWRP?

No need for twrp to install a ROM.
You will need to unlock the bootloader for a custom rom. and it will erase all your data.
updating or staying in Miui 12 will not change anything, especially since the hypothetical customs roms will be in Android 12.

Alright then, thank you!
You can also just downgrade to any version via fastboot later. I recommend using a GSI rom though, they work pretty well.

It depends on you, android 11 and 12 are basically the same with miui, the only thing you missed is monthly security update.
