Hmm, sort of?
I flash stock images every month... I don't know if OTAs would make the difference.
Mine is 14gb. Maybe try a factory reset if you are running out of space or if things get slow? I do it once every 6 months or so to clear out any mystery gunk.
Wow I haven't done a factory reset on at least a year

Interestingly enough, I dropped 2GB from the System listing just by having Titanium Backup batch clear the cache of all apps. The Other apps section also dropped 2GB, but that will vary more with what apps you have and how you use them.

Will that work, on stock no root? If not TB what do you suggest?
Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Space Technology
It seems like with newer Android 10-first devices, there's no longer a cache partition that you can wipe from recovery. The OS consequently no longer lists Cache as a separate entry.
When I tried it in Titanium Backup, it appeared to clear every app individually and it also had to terminate those apps while it did so. Without root, it might not be possible for a 3rd party app to do that... especially for pre-installed system apps. There are supposedly Play Store apps that claim to be able to clear app caches... but I've also read that things like Chrome cannot be cleared because it is a pre-installed system app. Similar with YouTube which should be another prolific user of cache.
Your best bet might be finding an app that can at least list cache usage and manually clear the cache in the app properties... since that doesn't require root... just time/effort.
I'm at 22GB. I haven't cleared cache in a long while though.

I am. I haven't noticed any performance change from release day to present day. I have a 64GB model too and am all Google Drive, Google Photos, and music and video streaming so I'm not looking to squeeze out a GB here and there. I have Smart Storage set to 90 days and it's been enough that I'm not micromanaging my space.

Maps automatically updated from the Play Store today on my S4, it says it is being rolled out slowly so maybe just a select number of downloads at a time while they test it? Not sure.
I like and dislike the new update.
The new UI is pretty smooth and clean.
However they removed the option for zoom buttons. You used to be able to decide if you wanted to display them or not, now there is no option what so ever. However they've added a little help file that shows all the gestures and one i was unaware of (or maybe it is new, probably not) is double tap and hold then drag up to zoom in and drag down to zoom out. Makes up for the lack of buttons I suppose since you can still zoom in/out with one hand/finger.
Another thing I'm a little sour at google for sending the way of the dinosaur is latitude. I always enjoyed stalking my friends, but they've decided to kill latitude altogether. I got an email from google today:
Hello,
Earlier today, we announced that Google Latitude is no longer part of the Google Maps app, and we're retiring Latitude on August 9, 2013.
This means that after August 9, your Latitude friends list will be deleted and you'll lose the ability to share your location with them. There will also be some changes to Location Reporting and Location History, including changes to third-party applications that use Google Latitude. Please see our FAQs for more information.
We understand some of you still want to see your friends and family on a map, which is why we've added location sharing to Google+ for Android (coming soon to iOS).
Thank you for using Google Latitude.
Sincerely,
The Google Latitude Team

I read about the inclusion of the new ART runtime in 4.4, so I went into my Nexus 5 and enabled the setting. First reboot is supposed to take longer as the apps are prepared.

Unfortunately, my Nexus 5 did not recover from this and was stuck in a boot loop. Logcat showed a bunch of mm-camera errors.
I don't know how to switch the runtime back to dalvik. I can see the phone is loading libart.so, and if I could switch back to livdvm.so it might recover.
If anyone knows how to do this, it might be helpful to others.
I'm just going to restore the factory image to get the phone back.

I flicked the switch to ART and was amazed at the speed improvements. I have only come across one app that would crash (asphalt 8). I am leaving it on, and if developers want me to buy their games, they better expect to support ART.
Would it be wise to uninstall everything and re-install the programs with ART. Or does it do that for you?

ART does it all for you.
When you enable it will shut down your phone, then when you restart it will compile all the apps as it boots, this can take a few minutes and is battery intensive so make sure your phone has a good charge before you make the switch.

Your device stays unlocked. You will need to root again. You may need the stock kernel to update. No problem if the build is rooted for updating.
