you must be looking at a wrong folder.
go to root folder of your device (where system, sys, etc, sdcard, data, storage and other system folders are) and check there.
edit:
actually, you aren't rooted, that's your problem. root, go to data/media/0/dcim. the photos should be there i think.

give it a try, but i doubt it will work. sorry :<
at least from now on, use the new way to backup. use a cloud backup app. for example for pictures i prefer myshoebox. u can do the same for contacts and everything. that way even if u go to another phone and log in to your cloud, you will always have your apps, your photos , your music , your contacts , everything.
If there is anything to save left ,then best chance is hexamob recovery on play store, but doubt it will find anything besides thumbnails.
Sent from my A1-810 using xda app-developers app
Try using recuva sw, it helped me once, but i think files have to be deleted to work and not overwritten or formatted
But since i'm not sure you can give it a try, not much damage to be done
Hi
Sometimes (not a lot), after a reboot, I'm facing an unknown baseband. Then I reboot again and baseband is back ...
I don't like that... Any idea of what it could be ?
Thx
Which kernel and ROM/firmware are you on?
Also, which phone do you have? C5302, C5303 or C5306?

Flash the baseband fix by divaksh(or smtgh) the zip will help improve any baseband issues you encounter

Sorry, I forgot that. It's a C5303 running 207fw. The ROM is from the country where I bought the phone (generic, not linked to an operator). But the firmware is from an operator and I debloat it.
My problem may be related to an excessive debloat but as it is a random issue it's strange. Hard to find out the reason of a non systematic issue.
Is there a minidump created when the phone reboot itself ?
Thx.
PS:
207 baseband is 8960A-AAAAATAZQ-40031007-21
Original after last ota update (205) was 8960A-AAAAATAZQ-40031007-20

Actually this fix flashes the 205 generic baseband. I'd like to know/understand why the baseband from 207 could generate issues. Because os related to an operator I don't use ??

Most likely yes
I would reflash your firmware. Probably debloated too much as you suggested yourself.
A generic version can be found here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1qUMupXz1l6a0wtcVV2bUxiS2M/edit

Thank you for the link. What means "Customized" ?
I just descovered that the links in /system/etc/firmware have no rights (set to - - - - - )
Can you tell me how are the rights on these links in your phone ?
It's strange because I flashed that using flashtools and did not touch that part making my rom.
Also, the baseband fix does not modify these links rights, so perhaps it's normal ?

Not quite sure mate. You might want to research more into this
Forget the links rights, it's a display bug in Es Explorer.
But the linls points to files in /firmware and I have no files in this folder. Is it the case for you ?

The files are hidden mate! with the *.filename* extension
You can't see those files with the normal root explorers
What I was trying to say is to talk with me via PM instead of this thread but nvm then

Well, I used flashtools for my 207 ftf and I didn't touch anything in those folders.
Just looking at them to try to understand. it's strange having links that points to unexisting files.
I have flashed marshmallow and I attempted to root but for some reason system partition still isn't writeable... Anyway-now my root partition show I only have 4kb of free space..I am worried that would create an issue? Any idea why that happened? How can I fix it?
Thank you
This is what I am talking about...
You need to flash a kernel to make system writeable. Then, you may also be low on space. If you are, delete some google apps that you can get from play.

Thank you so much! I will try and flash a kernel and see if I will be able to disable the navigation bar.
On the second part of your answer-what do you mean exactly? Delete the apps from where? System?
Thanks again.

S note creates a folder called s note data or something like that... you would have to copy those files to your cloud.

Which app are you referring too? The older S Note or Samsung Notes that comes on the Note 8? I know you stated S Note but if you canxt see the folder..... With S Note the folder is in internal storage & you can easily view it. With Samsung Notes, you need root to access the save folder.

Yeah, with Samsung Notes the files are stored in the data partition. Earlier I said you need root access but if you are not rooted, come to think of it some file explorers will allow you to view & possibly copy the files, I'm not sure. Just can't make any changes without root.
This is the location:
/data/data/com.samsung.android.app.notes/files/document
