Hey, I recently bought this phone and immediately updated to MIUI 11.0.4 Global and wanted to use the AOD option but it only worked correctly for 1 day, now it only stays active for around 5 minutes (sometimes a few hours) and then it deactivates (screen off) but if I receive a new notification it activates for another 5+ minutes, any idea on what could be the cause of this or how to fix it?
As additional info my device isn't rooted and everything is stock, I don't have any battery saver features activated nor DND is on and AOD is set to always be active, I tried clearing data/cache of the app but it didn't work, any info is appreciated, thanks! :fingers-crossed:

As I said, AOD is set to always run and I don't have any battery saver features active.

I only have one thing when AoD doesn't shows up is when surrounding is dark, which i think is good.
But didn't faced something you are saying brother.
May be a hard Reset can do(but first try every other method)

I installed a third party app called Always On Edge and it seems to work but I need to test it further to discard any issues :good:

I've been trying to port the new style LG lockscreen (similar to that found in newer LG models such as P920 and P970) from Modaco Gr1 to Topogigi v2.0. Well, turns out no porting needs to be done as it is already in the ROM, just hidden. The new lockscreen is similar to the old one, with identical functionality, but looks a bit better in my opinion.
To enable it, make a nandroid/Titanium backup first then open build.prop (you'll need a file explorer with root privilege, or adb pull) and find this line:

and modify it to:

Reboot.
I'd post a screenshot but I don't know how to take a screenshot when the phone is locked. I will take a photo later.
Edit: Took a photo. As can be seen the wallpaper shows even while charging, instead of just pitch black.

Screenshot doesn't work when screen is locked here, you must do it through Adb.. There is a subtle difference when you Swype to unlock..

Yes, and I think it's supposed to bring you to the relevant app (missed call to call log, for example), but it just unlocks the phone and leaves you at the homescreen. Typical LG unfinished half-a$$ed-ness, I guess.

I just test that and I'm very disappointed...
Floatify is ten times better.
You can't configure almost nothing here in peek...
Only thing that peek has and floatify don't is sensors reading and I don't need that (that will drain your battery very fast)

Yeap...it works.
It's working without any problems...
Sensors are also working (just like on smartwatches and moto x, when you take your phone from desk or pocket it'll turn on screen and show notifications.)

Don't know that...
I tested on "normal" unlock screen, without patern or pin.
When I swiped, peek ring showed and I could access notifications...
I would test patern for you but I had many problems to uninstall peek and really don't want to install that anymore

I'm on nougat and need confirmation that notifications cannot be customized. On marshmallow you could long press on a notification and choose whether it will be displayed on the lockscreen. On nougat it seems to be broken and I cannot be customized at all, at least on my device. I want to know if this is just a localized problem with my installation or if this is a bug with the update.

Settings then Notifications pick the app you want and you will see Show On Lockscreen options. Long pressing on the notification on lockscreen I'm not sure about.

I just restored back to stock unadulterated 3.5.4 and updated through the os to nougat and I still don't have those options.
Okay, fixed it. After going back to 3.5.4 and updating all the way back to nougat through the OS I got it working. Swipe down on notification bar until you see system settings cog. Press and hold that cog until it starts spinning for a few seconds and let it go. It will add system ui tuner to the menu. In that menu touch other and there you touch 'power notification controls' and turn it on. I can now customize notifications.
I did the ota patch earlier from 3.5.4 and could not get system ui tuner to show up with the cog thing- had to restore full update to see it for some reason.
I have system tuner but I don't have power notifications on. I installed the full noguat rom over 3.5.4 then flashed SuperSu 2.79 S1 then reflashed TWRP and booted up. Thats it

That is where I got the full the second time I did the flashes. What is different between devices? I'm missing some features.
One thing I notice is you have a 64gb and I have an 128gb version.

If I am note mistaken it's either Shot&More or another version of the Burst Mode.
I remember seeing this function in action, at their Live Broadcast Release Preview Introduction for either the Note 5 or the S6, but I cant find any youtube video of it.

I was only able to find one of the MODE apk that work, the rest of them won't install
The mode I finally found for my photo that I posted is called Surround Shot that has several other features.
I found a youtube video about it and I am sharing a link.

OK found out alittle more about the app in reference to my photo that I post. The app was release back when S6 was release. The app was called Shot and More that was under the Surround Shot app. So it was an app within an app within another app. Crazy. I was able to install the app but it not functional. The phone or app freezes for about 15 seconds and gives you an option to send a notification about the failure to Samsung. I went ahead and just beg Samsung to bring that app and Live Broadcast back!!! I'm sure i'm not the only one missing these apps.
Funny thing is that Samsung beg for us to stay with them after the failure of the Note 7, and said they made the Note 8 better.
In my eyes, removing some of the great software apps is not making me happy either. I think it's time for me to dump Samsung and just go with Google Pixel 2 XL....
Them removing these software is a deal breaker for me.

The Launcher is responsible for this. Check in its settings or change to the one that suits you. Good Launcher to Evie, Lawnchair, Poco Launcher.
