Just updated to June OTA and cannot get chrome to stay open for more than a second. I cleared cache and data and nothing. Temporary solution for now in uninstalling updates since it's a system app. Anyone else having this issue?
me too
Uninstal the updates and either Uninstal or disable the app, restart your device, reinstall or enable the app and update. Still not working? Insure the device and all apps are updated or up to date, check your security settings and try again. Still not working? Uninstal the updates for the app, disable the app, clear cache and data, go to APK pure or some other trust worthy APK site, download and install the updated APK's after enabling the app again ( enable the app before APK install) turn off automatic updates for play store temporally and don't update the app after re-enable, that's what the APK is for. Still have issues? Check to make sure your Google play store is the most recent version, or do that first then work your way back

Thanks for the tips unfortunately none of it worked.
Backup your device and completely reset it, I know it's a pain in the ass but the problem could be in a security certificate somewhere.

You are the man! Edxposed was the issue. Had to uninstall it anyways since it broke my Google pay. So chrome and Xposed don't work together?

It downloads but does not install apps, it stays stuck at downloading, I have done all possible way to fix but no success. i have cleared chache, uninstall update blah, even went to the extreme of wiping my whole phone starting from scratch thinking it was my damn phone still it does not work.
Anyone having same issues? or know a work around?
When I install old version it updates automatically to the new one....
Yeah i'm having the exact same problem.
Using the official XXKPU firmware btw.
try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744264
anyway, i have the same problem
I started having the same problem today.
Go to Applications and choose Google Play Store. Clear the App data and uninstall updates (since it's a system app)
Then start the app, let it update and it's working again! (at least that's what did it for me)
I have ics and i have no problems, maybe we must to install ics

yep tried it, works for a while but it still updates automatically
I am thinking already this update should not have been made available for GB.......I might think it's only for ICS devices
Same here.
Solution:
I uninstalled updates (went back to version 3.5.19) and freezed market updater with titanium backup. And it works. :good:

Google or say Goofle messed up big time....they replied back to me saying my phone was rooted!! I mean wtf!!!? they think every android users are noobies and have to buy their arguments.
Freezing market updater with TB works up to now.
Hmmm...looks like freezing and even uninstalling market updater still doesn't stop it from updating.
When't back to market 2.2.7.
Get it from here
Install as normal apk, convert it to system app

I have installed this one: Vending-3.5.19.noupdate.norestrictions-aligned.apk
It works
im sure this has been mentioned before, but im seeing it popup all over 4.4.2 rom treads. so, here's how to stop your nexus 5 continuously downloading the 4.4.3 update...
root is required you need a app manager with root permissions, I use rom tool box. in its app manager, select google services, then select advanced freeze and look for anything that is labeled 'update service' or similar, and freeze it! this will stop your phone downloading the update...

Well, if you have a custom recovery just take the update... It will fail. And that will be the end of that.... No mo update notices or downloads.
you can. but this is more for people getting hassled by the constant google notifications when the update doesn't download properly...

My current phone hasn't had this issue since 4.4.2's release... Nada.

untick notifications in both..
Google play services
Google services framework
.. in settings/apps, you don't need root for this method

Does that eliminate notifications for all installed apps?
My phone is running Google Play services ver 7.xx.
There are some compatibility problems of it with CM12 official. So I need to downgrade it to ver 6.xx.
How can it be done?
Normal apk installation fails.
Installed via adb, adb says success and Google Play services starts FCing. However, on restarting phone and checking Google Play services app info, it is still at ver 7.xx only.
So how to downgrade?
Edit - Uninstalled using Titanium Backup. Install apk via adb. Restart. Done.
Disabling it under Apps and then apply your APK doesn't work?
Good luck on that. I had an LG phone that was incompatible with a newer version. I could install the older version, but no matter what I did, as soon as I connected to the internet for any reason, it would update to the new incompatible version in the background.

failed
Mine TB says this cannot be uninstalled any other way? Android tuner also dosent seems to work.
Before you tell me things like reset app preferences, remove Google account, enable download, etc, I tried these things. They are temporary fixes until it starts happening again. I don't want to always have to go through this procedure over and over again everything 8 want to download an app. Thanks.

Yeah. I did that while I was doing the reset app preference. I would also uninstall the Google Playstore updates, but no go.
Currently, I updated from Lollipop to Marshmallow, so I'm going to see how things have changed. I haven't gotten to update an app or anything yet, so I can't see how well it fares.
After flashing 15.1
Clearing play store storage data causes it to break...it can't read the apps already installed..only the new apps we install after cleaeing data shows up in installed apps and get updated
is anybody facing this problem too ??
I believe it's something on Google's end, that has happened to me a few times in the past couple of weeks and I have never updated past 14. It seems to fix it's self after a while

totally weird- never faced such issue where play store couldn't detect installed apps
I thought Magisk is trying to hide something from play store which trips safety net
No issue here

I meant after clearing play store data..it's causing this issue.....prior to clearing data-it was fine
Looks fine, did a clear data and works fine. Made sure on Magisk Manager shows SafetyNet green, added Play Store and Play Services added on MagiskHide list. Clear data and uninstall updates on the app, let it update by itself and still works fine.
My Play Store version is 8.5.39.W-all, by using Magisk, Device certification shows Certified while it isn't before due to unlocked bootloader.

Remove the youtube detach module. That is creating problems. It did for me as well. Once you remove it, playstore will be back to normal

After you clear data in playstore app, did you also uninstall updates (disable) then re enable and allow it to update again? That's what fixes that for me.
Same problem here with Magisk 15.2
I tried :
-Disable and restore playstore to stock version
-Clear play store cache and data.
-Uninstall iYTBP detach module
Nothing has fixed the problem, does anyone have a solution?

After disabling and re enabling playstore, allow to update. Open playstore, tap menu, my apps. If nothing needs updated first list is empty. Swipe left for installed. Should be populated with installed apps.
Installed apps are correctly showed but I'm pretty sure there's a problem with app update on playstore since I update to magisk 15.2.
I have not had any apps updates since I update to magisk 15.2, before that I had app updates more than once a day.. I think magisk 15.2 break apps updates with Playstore.
By the way I have a Oneplus 3T with Resurrection Remix ROM.

Works fine here, magisk 15.2. wiped data for playstore twice. Both times disabled (uninstall updates) re enabled, allowed it to update itself. All good. It's not going to show previously updated apps. Don't think magisk is a problem. If you wiped data for your whole phone it would wipe playstore and wouldn't break anything, so just wiping playstore alone shouldn't (and doesn't for me or anyone I've asked so far) either. Not saying it didn't for you (I don't have that device or rom) but it shouldn't.
