What does this camera icon mean? - ASUS ROG Phone II Questions & Answers

I noticed a new camera icon on the stock camera app. Pretty sure it was not there before. When I click on it, it lets me select a number from 0 to 8. I am not able to figure out it's function. I do notice some effect on the photos when I select a high number but I am not sure. I feel that it makes the photos look realistic somehow.

[Q] How fast is the camera on the Optimus 4X HD?

Just want to find out the camera speed compare to the Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X? No one seem to write anything about the camera. Basically I want to know if it can do instantaneous snap like the S3 and One X. Also, can it shoot multiple frames per sec? Thx.
Well, it takes a bit to focus. But whrn it already focused because you touched the screen, you can actually take pictures instantaneously.
Dind't try the lots of photos per secon mode, sorry. I can test whatever you want me to

to make this possible, i think we would need touchwiz's framework, and if we tried to port it i guess the chance of making it possible is quite low
but you are right its an awesome way to multitask on

That's what I've been thinking, but I remember I saw it with a non-samsung rom but I can't remember. And the possibility to port it from Touchwiz is very low as well

Our device has <400mb usable ram, It can't even handle some apps like chrome and you want it to play a video while browsing while using facebook etc.. I think if you want to do that you should move on to another device with more ram. Sadly the capabilities of our phone are limited by the hardware not only the software.

[Trick] Open widgets - Little late to the party?

I don't know if someone has discovered this neat feature or Bug(maybe?) of 4.4 (exists in 4.4.2 too).
Click on app drawer and quickly press 2 things, home button and then quickly single press the screen dots icon(which shows home many homescreens you have) present above the app drawer icon.
It opens widgets. I'm sure it didn't exist when I had nexus 4 with 4.3, Works on nexus 5. I could record a screen recording to show what m talking about but there is no option for that in stock(correct me if m wrong). I used to do that all the time in cataclysm ROM easily with toggles.
It's a known bug but it was removed in 4.4.1/2...at least for me.

Settings/application manager/all apps.

Its more than just disabling any app. We need to know exactly what is causing the lag. If it is an app, then which app? We cant just be disabling any app and hope one stops the lag. There is another post which discusses the same lag issue but there is still not one single solution to it. After several updates on the phone, it still has not solved the lag issue. I am using a N920CD, I get the lag everyday for couple of seconds.
Does anyone know of a proper permanent fix? What is actually causing the lag ?

Actually, I had lag on mines when I updated to the latest firmware apa2. I went back to aok7 and its running perfect again.
Ok, I have to retract, lag still here. It's not lag it's a random freeze when unlock screen

Yeah, such an expensive device and it has been lagging/freezing since I bought it. The updates have not fixed the issue. We need a fix. If anyone out here know of a fix, do let us know. Sometimes I feel like smashing the phone on the ground, especially when I need to act quickly to make a call or answer a call and it freezes, p***** me off differently.

Notification Bar does not automaticaly switch to previous app if pressed

Don't know how this has stopped working.
If you keep the square icon pressed on the notification bar it should switch automatically to the previous app you were using. this is good for multi-tasking and you can quickly switch.
Problem - if I keep it pressed, nothing happens. If I press it briefly I get the normal recent app list.
Very annoying and I cannot figure out what I have changed to stop this amazing feature.
Please help.
I did never realized about that feature. In fact, it was one of the first thing I tried because my previous smartphone had that feature, but it did never work with my P9. I bought it last week, and that feature was never available, at least in my case of course

on the p8 it was definitely possible - check out the youtube tips and tricks. why would they remove the feature?
I dread updating my phone for reasons like this. (

Yes, it was really useful in my previous phone. Anyway, for me is not such a big problem. If you press that button to access the last tabs, the first one that appear in front of you is the last one used. So, with a couple of fast taps, you're in your previous app, no sweep needed.

If you have root, gesture control let's you set a gesture to switch to last app (like alt+tab on Windows)
