Try again with new firmwareQupdater
Ok it boot with this new zip, thank you.
I will use the ROM few days and then give a feedback, but it seems fine so far !
I gave it a try.
Well, it sure is different from what I am use to. But you can customise it.
It seems to be mostly working. No big errors found yet.
One problem.
When calling, microphone gain/volume is very low. It is difficult for others to hear what I am saying.
It is much better when I am in speaker mode. But that is not solution, it is bad workaround.
Not sure what the problem is.
Could be microphone low gain issue.
Could be that noise cancellation or something else is causing it.
Maybe automatic gain or something.
It is possible to record better audio as speaker mode works better. Not sure what it does differently.
Same problem with LineageOS. And I think ArrowOS had the same problem - but can't be 100% sure at the moment, I used it very shortly because bluetooth audio did not work there.
My old Umidigi One has MUCH better sound when calling. I do not want to make it very dramatic but it is very close to being like night and day. There is quite a big difference, much more than I would call normal.
I never even switched it on with stock rom, so I do not know how it performs in stock rom.
For now I can not use it daily as call quality is so poor and I need it as a phone.
I hope at some point it will get fixed if someone can understand the problem and how it works in android.
I tried to play with mixer xml files a bit but there are millions of setting and I did not really understood what was going on. I tried to change some settings that seemed like relevant, but no changes.
Audio settings should be simple but they are far from simple in android... at least not to me.
Problem on setting sound, cannot set ringtone and setting crash
Edit: only in no Gapps version

I have also Vanilla version (no gapps).
I can set some ringtones (from pixel list some work). Others just start to show spinning loading ring or something like that and nothing happens.
Same for notification sounds. Some from Pixel list work, most do not.
Do we need to install this over Android 10 or can it be flashed on top of Android 9. Reason I am asking is that I flashed it over Stock 11.1.171 and I cannot connect to the WiFi to finish the setup on the first boot. Thanks.
EDIT: This also happens after installing a version with no Gapps. The WiFi just keeps dropping signal and reconnecting. Plus the mobile data doesn't work either. Similar thing happens and the phone keeps disconnecting from my network and trying to reconnect a moment later. Any ideas? Thank you.
Also after flashing this ROM I can no longer boot into the stock ROM after flashing with QFIL - I've tried a few times and it just gets stuck on either Lenovo logo or gets rebooted into the download mode (with the blue light on and nothing on screen). I suppose it might have something to do with Firmware Q Updater even though I thought that flashing with QFIL will overwrite this. When I re-flashed the ZEN OS it worked fine and I could boot to the system again, but I have no data connectivity so can't really use it.
Do you have any idea what's happening and what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

Hello,
I had the same problem. For data connectivity, just set manually APN network settings , save and reboot the phone. Set 4G network as favorite network. ZenX-OS is very promising, I'm testing it since yesterday ant it looks great. No major issue for the moment.
To use Z5s stock rom, maybe, you need to flash back to the original firmware to make it works.

Cheers. Yes, that's exactly what I did. I flashed L78071_CN_SECURE_USER_Q00024.0_P_ZUI_11.1.171_ST_191023_qpst using QFIL which went OK but I cannot boot to the system as I get stuck. I swapped the recovery IMG file in the unzipped folder so I can have working recovery after flashing and that works OK as well.
Did you have problems with WiFi as well or just cellular data?

Cellular data is working and wifi is OK too.
For wifi, I only had a small issue during the installation process. I've deleted the home network saved. Now wifi is working perfectly

Thanks man. Will give it a go. Do you just copy system_1 to system_15 from Z6Lite to 171 and flash like that? Also, there is a link to MIUI12 in your post? Did you end up installing that as well?
EDIT: Ignore the question regarding the system files. It's quite obvious after downloading the Z6Lite zip.
EDIT1: Unfortunately this didn't work either. Still get stuck. I get to the Lenovo logo, it starts changing the colors as if it was booting correctly, then it stops for a moment and reboots to the blank screen with the blue LED on with nothing happening.

Yes, you just have to replace 15 system files. I didn't try MIUI 12. For the moment ZenX-OS seems to be stable and functional as I expect.

**NOT CURRENTLY INCLUDED
-Currently, the stock emui camera is not included. (Currently though, there a couple magisk modules available for 960 devices on XDA)
Pre-Requirements
*Must be running EMUI 8 / Oreo.
*Must have an unlocked bootloader
DO NOT USE TWRP (*Currently on the most of the kirin 960 devices, there isn't a fully functional TWRP.)
1. Whether coming from another custom ROM or EMUI, it is highly recommended that you have your current stock ramdisk, recovery_ramdisk, and kernel IMG files.
2. Download the Havoc-OS hi3660 img file (which is currently compressed as a .zip file) and extract the system.img from it once the download completes.
3. Boot your device into bootloader mode. (Power off phone. Once off, hold Vol Down button while connecting your device to the computer).
4. If you have magisk (or root of any kind) or currently have twrp installed, proceed to the next step (Step 5). If you have not used magisk or root, nor
have you installed or used TWRP, proceed to step 6)
5. Fastboot flash stock ramdisk, recovery_ramdisk and stock kernel first (especially if you are currently rooted with magisk).
6. Fastboot flash the system.img extracted from the Havoc-OS hi3660 image file.
7. Reboot into stock recovery.
8. Wipe cache and do a factory reset.
9. Reboot and profit.
*Fastboot commands
fastboot flash ramdisk ramdisk.img
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery_ramdisk.img (might be recovery_ramdis.img, as sometimes the "k" gets cutoff)
fastboot flash kernel kernel.img
fastboot flash system system.img

Nice work! This looks to be a really nice rom. Quick question. Would I still have to unlock my bootloader to flash the system image or do I just go ahead and flash it in fastboot without unlocking bootloader? I assume you wouldn't based on the instructions but just to make sure.

Yes, that is correct. As long you have your current matching firmware's update.app, all you have to do is extract and fastboot flash the stock system.img. If you are using magisk at all, you would also want to flash stock ramdisk and kernel. Then factory reset in stock recovery and reboot.

Nice bud....want to share a screenshot of your about phone in settings? Was curious to know what model you are on. Yeah, so not in OTA at the moment....but will get there....however at first it will be just to provide the update link....You can install updates by downloading the new release (when available) and fastboot flashing it like you just did the first time. No factory reset required.

Gotcha thanks. I have an issue with installing huawei backup; I backed up my messages contacts etc on there but can't install the app, either through playstore or as standalone apk. Playstore gives me a -505 error and apk installer just says app not installed. Not sure what's going on here.
The lowest brightness setting is also too bright for me. Size scaling on navigation keys is also not working.

Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, huawei backup doesn't work with any of the custom roms. It's an EMUI only app. Which is one unfortunate part. However, there are 3rd party backup alternatives on the play store to backup and restore information
On automatic brightness or with it off? As for size scaling on navigation keys, i will take a look into that.
Nice to see a 960 optimized treble ROM!
Would I be able to use Viper4Android in this ROM?
What about Magisk or Xposed?
Thx!

Ah okay. It's not too big of a deal since nothing too important was lost. As for the brightness, it was on manual adjustment settings. It's just too bright on the lowest setting for me. If you could scale it so it can dim more on the lowest end that would be great!

Thanks. Unfortunately, viper4android doesn't work for our devices running EMUI 8 / Oreo.
As for magisk, installing magisk manager and using the patch method with your stock ramdisk.img and flashing it via fastboot is the best way.
Follow this guide here, https://forum.xda-developers.com/mat...nning-t3773878
Just after you install magisk manager, before you point it to the ramdisk.img, go to settings and change channel from stable to beta. And also make sure that force encryption is checked on. Beta will bring magisk up to 16.7, which is rthe recommend version of magisk on huawei devices.

How's battery life on this ROM?
Finally something new. Great work. Just flashed it. Comming with feedback in a couple of days how it works.
Just a couple of notes right away.
The system font changer doesnt work.
When selecting red accent colour theme, it turns blue instead.
Other than this it works fine so far.
Hi, For me is unable to complete initial settings after first boot. App "pixel settings" Stuck. When i tap to button skip or next, screen hangs.

Did you remeber to format everything besides internal storoage before flash? Try do that and flash again.
Are you connected to internet?
Have you tried restarting, clearing the cache and data for the pixel setting app and google play services app? It is under system apps.

I have installed twice with no issues.
Wipe everything except internal memory.
Install rom
Install twrp
Wipe Dalvik
Done
Nice ROM, but it lacks Google camera and some other pixel features. Also, like the pixeldust ROM, we can't customize recents. The style is horizontal only and the clear all button is displayed only when scrolled to very left. Battery life seems a bit less lasting than pixeldust, but I've been on evolution for 12 hours only.
Other than that it's good, but I personally won't stay with this ROM. The recents style won against me.

Pixel camera is downloadable through play store, or just install a modded version like the one from cstark, arnove etc.

Yes but he didn't include it and left aosp cam instead. Google camera is certainly the most capable to fully exploit pixel'camera, that's the point. In other side, there are Google apps installed by default that I don't want. Letting users to decide what they want would be a better chance for them to have a pleasant experience with his ROM.
Regards.

Hello
Magisk works great with this rom
Personnally I use Magisk Stable V23.0, and with hide feature you'll be able to keep passing SafetyNet
Hello! Thanks for your time.

Hello
Sorry, but face unlock is not yet available, maybe in a future build
Anyway, a new fingerprint reading system from Google is implemented in this build. It seems to work great, even with screen off.
Hey. Does fingerprint unlock works on Always On Display? In CherrishOS I couldn't unlock my phone while it was locked on AOD. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it doesn't. Is Google Pay working on that rom?

Hello!
During my tests it worked without any issue. If sometimes it doesn't recognise your finger, try to register the same finger twice
I don't use Google pay, but it should work as the rom let you pass SafetyNet by default and Google pay meets the security requirements

I installed rom but i had various problems. The phone was lazy when unlocking. Instead of the lockscreen wallpaper, the homescreen was visible in the place where I locked the phone. Charging animation turns on late, as if the phone had a lag when connecting. I think there is no Always On Display. I couldn't find the option that turns it on.

I'm sorry you're encoutering these issues, everything is ok for me. Could you record logs when you plug/unplug your phone please? (For example using the mat log app from play store)
To enable Always on Display, go in Settings -> Display -> Lock screen -> Always show time and info
Hey! Thank you very much for the rom.
So far everything has worked correctly for me!
I have a question regarding the widget "at a glance", there is no way to deactivate it. Even if it is disabled in the launcher, the time still appears and there is no way to remove it.
thanks again
P.D: sorry for my bad english xp

Yeah, I think you can't remove it from the launcher.
If you really don't want it, you can use another launcher.
Anything I can do to encrypt the phone? Tried the option in Settings and also modifying fstab, but always end in bootloop. Or do I have to wait until the rom is more advanced? Regards

Sure, the "Fullscreen/immersive gestures" module can do that
And it should be integrated directly in the rom next release
I have not ring-back tone .
Hi, I have a little problem, I can boot into Evolution x, but storage doesn't seem to be working, I mean when I open storage option in settings or go to google play for updating chrome for example, it is not working, is there a fix for it?

Anyway i restarted my phone and everything is working fine since.

Looking forward to try your rom again in the future thanks for your work.

Interesting, today I've decided to find custom rom for my 10S, which has best battery from all of my devices How about battery life with that deep sleep issue? How much lack of deep sleep affect battery life during the day?
Is VoLTE working fine?
I'll probably test your ROM during weekend, thanks for your work
[edit]
Soo... I won't test it so fast, unfortunately I'll have to wait 168hours to unlock Redmi ;/

It won't affect much in daily use case. It's for when the device is idle for a long while.

Deep sleep seem to be working fine
Edit: At first it's stuck at 1500 - 1075 but after some time (atleast on rooted device) all clock speeds start to work

It never worked for my case, so I assumed it wouldn't work on anyone else. Thanks for the info!
Heey! So I've rooted my device using this ROM, and at firt it worked fine (I've used safetynet fix, and magisk hide, and zygote) but now I keep failing CTS Profile. Any help?

if you are on latest version of magisk you don't need any module like safteynet fix to pass device certification.
Follow these steps
1) Enable zygisk and denylist
2) Configure denylist -> Enable "Show system apps" and "Show OS apps"
3) Enable denylist for all components of google play store and google play services
4) Search for phone and enable denylist for all apps and their components (this helps to bypass root detection in some banking apps like google pay)
5)clear data of google play store and google play services (clear data using Lucky patcher, try clearing data through settings first)
after enabling apps in denylist close magisk and open again to make sure if they are still enabled magisk as magisk can be buggy sometimes(or better try restarting device)

It didn't work :/
I've tried to go back to MIUI, from MiFlash, and even going through there i got a FAILED CTS Profile pass.
Now I don't know what to do. I've searched a lot and tried a variety of things, but still have the same problem.
Any Idea?
New update is here!Synced with latest sources of EvoX - February 2023 ASB.
Post amended.
I've given up. Tried to update to February Security Patch, and nothing. In the end I've Managed to use my phone normally as daily drive, so I think I'll let the CTS Profile fail to the side.
Evo X it's a SICK AND AWESOME ROM, BTW I love it ever since my Redmi Note 6 Pro (tulip), thanks for porting it to Rosemary

if you are trying to install miui
first backup your data, you will need to reset after installation
try flashing miui from twrp it'll probably work (recovery firmware). remember to boot to slot which has miui installed. if bootloops reboot to miui recovery and whipe all data again.
if you don't have custom recovery use flashall.bat or flashall.sh (provided in fastboot firmware)
firmware: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/miui-updates-tracker-redmi-note-10s-rosemary.4294967/

I was still using EVOX ROM, and I've discovered that CTS Servers was down LOL! Now it passes normally.
But on top of that I've discovered a new problem. When I'm watching videos on any platform, after a few seconds the video stops and audio continues. Is there any fix?
Hello,
Has anyone tried passing SafetyNet without root or Magisk and with microG?
Also, is this with Gapps or without?
Thanks.
Edit: just saw the post again, and it does includes gapps. I am disappointed, as i would like to try a rom without gapps.
Ok, I've flashed it today after bricking my device by dumb error xD Looks very nice, good job Looks like I have new favourite rom after years with AICP however I've got one big issue - I have issue with 2nd simcard - it said, that it's denied in notification, I don't see network range, nor I cannot answer calls from my 2nd sim.
Sim is prepaid type, with empty account, howerver schould answer calls and receive message... mayby that lack of making calls ability is the reson why phone thinks it's denied? Card had pincode, but after disabling problem persists. On miui everythink worked like a charm
