Hi everyone. My fingerprint sensor randomly stopped working. I can't use fingerprint to unlock the phone, nor can I add new fingerprints in the settings menu. In fact, fingerprint is completely gone from the settings menu, it's like the phone doesn't have it anymore. I am on Pixel Experience 10, was working fine before.
Fixed it by reflashing dtbo.img

Suddenly my fingerprint sensor isnt working. Tapping on home button also doesnt work, it doesn't detect anything. Any help? I'm on the latest developer Xiaomi.eu ROM and it's been working normally for a week.
EDIT: It seems to be working again... weird.
Couple weeks ago i had same Thing. At midday Sensor Stopped working. Next day After 10am i just noticed I got It back and its working to this day

I've experienced losing my fingerprint recognition. My fingerprint was working really well but after applying the latest red tint update, it seemed to become not as responsive. When this happens I find that booting into recovery mode and clearing system cache partition, then rebooting usually fixed it. If that doesn't fix it, i remove the old fingerprint and register my fingerprint again. Then it works excellent again. One quirk that i have is that it only seems to recognize only the 1st fingerprint easily but doesn't recognize a 2nd fingerprint as easily. Took me forever to tap my 2nd finger many times to get it registered and even after it did, that 2nd fingerprint wasn't recognized reliably by the sensor.
Has happened on 3 separate occasions for me where it just stops recognizing any finger at all and requires pattern input to unlock. A reboot always fixed it for me.
Had a couple Samsung app updates yesterday and now the fingerprint reader not working. Anyone else? Ideas? And phone has not been abused.
Well after I thought about it, restarted the phone and all good.
WHEN it happens again..
it has to do with the system "Fingerprint" app. Specifically the "finger sensor gestures", which is found under Settings -- Advanced Features. The app itself is a system app found in the regular application settings. But to get your sensor working again, try navigating to the finger sensor gestures, cycle it off, then on again and should work again. If you don't use it, just leave that feature off.
Mine used to do this all the damn time and it was so annoying having to restart it. I found cycling that feature off then on again would get it working again and quicker than a restart. I just leave that feature off now and haven't had any issues with my fingerprint sensor randomly stopping since then.

I've had this feature off from day one and my FP sensor stops working on occasion. Maybe once every couple days. There is another thread about it. I find that I type my passcode in once and by time I use my FP again it it's working.

I just changed the screen (with the full assembly) on my P10 and I have a weird problem with the fingerprint sensor.
I can add new fingerprints just fine, and if I try to set the same finger 2 times I get a message saying I've already saved this fingerprint. But, I can't seem to unlock my screen with the scanner. The screen wakes up when I scan my finger but the phone doesn't unlock even if the option is activated in the options.
I really don't know what to do.
Same problem here, is software related problem. Try to do a factory RESET. In my p10 was solved on the pie update.
Has any of you here experienced problems with the fingerprint sensor, in my case the option to add a fingerprint to unlock the device disappeared
