I've got my Galaxy Tab P1000T recently, and rooted, then rom with overcome 1.6.1
I have found that the Gallery or even QuickPic, can't display "natural" colour tone as iPad and even my laptop. It is too sharp~ Does anyone knows how to config the white balance, black balance, saturation, so the colour tone can come more natural?
Thanks a lot~~
Can't help with your query, but happy to try it tonight.
I have the T model (Telstra) as well - did you have any problems flashing it?

White and black halfway, saturation full, powersave enabled... and keep the brightness low. That plays an incredible role, if saturation is full and so is brightness, well, colors are going to be insanely intense XD

hi
moldor: I dont have any problem while flashing it~rooted with superoneclick, then rom with overcome 1.6.1
Alex: Thanks, I will try it tonight and compare with my pc or ipad again~
Hi Alex
I've tried your recommendation, but I still can see the intense colour on dark colour tone~ Is this because of the display hardware is not good as iPad and laptop? Or it is because of software, i.e. rom or picture viewer ?

As far as I remember the iPad has an IPS screen, and those are both very good and expensive. You might want to play around with the settings to see if something makes things better, I'd point my finger at the saturation setting... lower it and see if the results are good.

I am not sure where to post this but I have attached a wallpaper that has a greyish background and was wondering if anyone would be nice enough to turn it into a black background to go better with our Note 4 SAMOLED screens. thank you!
Maybe my eyes are going bad but the background looks black to me.
Edit via the phones built in photo editor- increase contrast to max, save changes. Then reduce saturation down a bit and save changes

OP3 updated to 3.2.2 still no fix for auto brightness.
Well, what's the problem?
I find posts like this a waste of time. Elaborate or link to somewhere showing what the issue is.

I find your comments waste of space. Everybody that used this phone for 1 day easily notices that the adaptive brightness doesn't work right. Have you noticed or you don't have that ability?

Touchy.
No need to be insulting, just pointing out that some context on the issue could have been helpful.
Given I have been reading this forum since it was released, this issue doesn't jump out as a massive issue.

Doesn't matter. Issue exist and should be top priority on the list of bugs because it is related to the display. I bet you never use adaptive brightness, do you?

Issue exist does it?
Ok. It's nice that they fix many, many other things like memory, sRGB and notifications first though yea??
I do use adaptive, yes thanks.
I feel that the auto brightness is to low for my taste. I installed Lux and now auto brightness is more to my liking.

Dude what does w.e you saying with the topic of this thread. Who cares what they fixed. OP is asking them to fix the adaptive brightness bug. And good thing you use it. Thanks for confirming you are not capable of noticing issues. You shouldn't even comment here then.

You are right. Adaptive brightness is crap on the 1+3. It changes all of a sudden and gets very low. Or in bright situations, it doesn't change at all in order to adapt to the new lightening conditions.

Most people.
Well done on dismissing OnePlus' work so far on resolving issues with the phone so quickly.
Everything cannot be 'Priority 1', issues with memory and notifications were clearly prioritised as more important to date.
I'm sure this issue will be fixed in the near future.

Lmao Well thanks for another trolling post! This thread is specific to the adaptive brightness bug. Create another one to give trophies to oneplus for fixing whatever they were supposed to have done right in the first place. Most people [emoji58]

Great thread. Auto brightness is totally rubbish. It needs addressing along with max brightness And the trick Sammy and lg use in sunlight when they boost contrast for outdoor readability. Come on oneplus 3...screen c?*n go brighter and we know it
I agree, the brightness automatically goes down very suddenly and too far when the surrounding light hasn't really dropped much or at all.

If my g4 can survive a day with a higher res screen then op3 can sure do it with better brightness
Why don't you just install Lux and set your own brightness values? It's working great for me so far since it fixes that dimming issue

I used lux on several occasions but don't like a 3rd part app controlling my brightness. I also didn't think it was that good . I get it that maybe a solution for you but oneplus should sort it so until then manual it is
Ice Bear created a similar thread on the LG V20 threads so that the V20 users may share their KCAL setups. Now it's time for the OnePlus 7 Pro users to share. Let us know what KCAL values you are using along with the screen calibration profile from settings>display>screen calibration.
Kcal?

KCAL is a feature that comes with a custom kernel if it's added in. It allows you to have finer control for screen calibration. These include: Red, Green, Blue, Screen Saturation, Screen Value, Screen Contrast and Hue. You can only access this setting if you have root, a custom kernel and use a kernel manager such as Kernel Adiutor or Ex kernel manager.
For me wide color mode is enough.
It can be enabled in display settings (OOS) or adb shell command with root:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/soc/ae00000.qcom,mdss_mdp/drm/card0/card0-DSI-1/native_display_wide_color_mode

I have the display set to AMOLDED Wide Gamut with the temp close to the middle/a little colder, and in KCAL I bumped the saturation up to 48. I like the over saturated look so I think this setting is awesome! Glad I read this post :good:
Have set to amoled-wide color mode with slider fully to cool.

Along with the AMOLED wide color gamut mode, it is very insane. Colors are super punchy/super oversaturated. Lots of people prefer oversaturated colors over duller colors.

At the moment, Ice Bear is using the Display P3 setting with the slider to the colder side. Slide all the way to the cold side and slide the slider 10 steps to the right. Once Ice Bear experiments with KCAL, Ice Bear will post a screenshot.

Does anyone who already has the 5 (or know someone that does) know whether or not High Brightness Mode is FINALLY accessible WITHOUT having to root??
If so, please let us know! I just pre-ordered the phone 2 weeks ago, and it will be my first Pixel. Really hoping they allow this!! :fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance!!

Ok. Disappointing, but not surprising. lol
Thanks!
At least they made it brighter this year. The Pixel 4's MAX brightness when Auto Brightness is enabled is 610 nits, where the 5's is 670. I still wish it was in the 800-900s (or more) region though. But at least they improved it.
