Hi, I have a problem with my Xiaomi Mi 5 as yesterday, after falling and after breaking the glass (only that), the device is no longer able to boot the system by going into bootloop. TWRP and Fastboot work perfectly, but the system doesn't want to start. I also checked if the motherboard had been damaged, but it doesn't seem to the naked eye, so I can't really understand what it depends on. I have already tried a restore via fastboot rom or to flash various roms from twrp, but without success..I would like to repair it, but if it does not start I cannot buy the spare parts. Bootloader unlocked and there was the Pixel Experience before the bootloop. :crying:
working now or dead???

Hi, I m fighting the last days trying to resurrect my mi 5x and I need any kind of tips, advice, inputs you can give
The whole story begun when my phone fell down a few days ago (not sure if it affected the whole situation). The phone after the fall was working normally(for a few hours) but later that day the battery depleted and it switched off. After I plugged it in the charger I tried to open it and it was in a weird mode. I could reach the white screen with the white logo of android and it stuck there for hours. I decided to flash it with a new rom and everything went south.
I will explain in steps all the attempts I have tried:
1) The bootloader was unlocked but it didn't leave me to flash the official Tissot rom that I had downloaded so I reboot my phone through fastboot cmb in edl mode and then with the Miflash tool I flashed the Tissot stock rom. v.9.6.4.0.
2) The phone hard bricked and I realized that I made a big mistake by flashing a rom from a different bootloader. ( I also realized at that point that I bought the phone with a custom A1 rom with a Tiffany bootloader).
3) I disassembled my phone and I put it in edl mode by using the test points and then I flashed it with a stock Tiffany rom by using Mi flash tools.
4) The phone was in a bootloop after the flash finished.
5) No actions could be made through fastboot and recovery because now the bootloader was locked.
6) After this, I tried several times flashing (in edl mode each time) all the stock Tiffany versions I could find online (stable or beta).
7) Every time after the flashing was done I was turning on the phone and it was again in bootloop.
8) At some point also I tried to side load an update of one of the tiffany's recovery rom (stable and beta) and I was getting an error that the rom is illegal and again bootloop.
The biggest problem is that I can' t unlock the bootloader through xiaomi unlock tool because the device was hardbricked and now my mi account is not bound with the device. If you can answer any of the following questions or if you have any idea you will save me!!!
1) Is there any way to unlock the bootloader?
2) Is there any reasonable explanation of why I am in a boot loop after flashing it with the proper tiffany fastboot rom?
3) Is by any chance the fall that the phone had before anything happen to affect the whole situation?
4) Is there any other way to flash a rom with locked bootloader?
Thank you very much!!!

yes ! I think I have tried all the possible ways to bring it back to life but the result is always the same. It is getting stacked in the boot screen with the mi logo and reboots.

I live in Denmark and there is no Xiaomi service spot here.
I have a xiaomi mi a2 device which had bootloop all the time. I was not able to get into device at all. So in other words oem unlock and usb debugg was not active at all. I tried so many times to get into the phone just to activate those. Now since some other phones doesnt really need those to flash because they use different kind of flashing i asumed i wouldnt need those.
when i tried to flash using adb sideload which was available it couldnt flash it went to 47% and then it just failed or stopped with some message and 1.00x at the end. I did try couple of times without any luck. I was never awared that thus phone had project treble rom wich in turn have 2 partitions. I acted on impuls. Then i tried fastboot commands with error about failed not able to flash restriction. Then i found that you could flash using emergency download mode which is in my mind something lg has with shorting the pins. There you dont have any issues because emergency download mode in lg dont require any permission or any problem for you to make your degice alive again. You could do that how often you will.
now i assumed it was the same with mi a2 that it would write rom the same but automatically because in lg you need to flash particular files in order to make that method work. I did flash mi a2 in edl and it did flash but the result was catastrophic. I got message about some partition something while flashing was a success. Then i thought how can edl fail even if oem is locked. It shouldnt work like that. Then i tried and tried to unlick bootloader through fastboot but its impossible. From start it was impossible to activate those settings. Then now i figure it out that it must do something with project treble and those 2 partitions. Is there any way to make this phone alive again?? Is there any way to flash partitions and partitions table manually
P. S I flashed it with what i thought was the anwser about my problem. I flashed it with mi x6 recovery rom from xda which made whole situation worse. Now i dont even have adb option nor do i have option to roll back to stock.
Just for comparison, in google pixel phone you dont even need unlocked bootloader or anything for that matter to flash pixel phone as long the rom is stock rom. Adb sideload works flawlessly
Any help is appreciated
Yeah, I'm not feeling very smart right now.
Short story:
Accidentally wiped OS in TWRP, now only seem to have access to fastboot. Can I fix this? Flash another ROM? Anything? Bootloader is unlocked, can't seem to get into TWRP anymore. Power + Volume up only takes me to fastboot again.
Long story:
Magisk module caused a bootloop. Wanting to try and avoid a factory reset, I tried sideloading Magisk for TWRP which didn't work, ultimately gave up and wanted to perform a factory reset via TWRP, but I've been working late and ticked the wrong box without thinking. Bad idea, I know. Wiped system, yes.
Aside from feeling exceptionally stupid, can this situation be salvaged? The phone doesn't switch off, it just sits in fastboot. I have Minimal ADB and Fastboot on my PC. Any help will be greatly appreciated, really.
Just in case anyone else ends up with a similar problem, the resolution was fortunately rather straightforward - I needed to grab the Mi Flash tool (as it turns out, this version worked best), stock firmware for my version, go into fastboot (which was no issue as that was the only thing my phone would do) and then open the Mi Flash tool and flashing the firmware was pretty straightforward from there. I even managed to get a BSOD during the process, but it's not like it could get any worse, anyway. Rebooted, restarted the process and about 10-15 minutes later, my phone was happily booting again.

With Fastboot mode and Mi flash as fail safes , we can flash to our hears content with no worries !
Also a more automated tool is a custom mi flash tool by a developer called XiaimiToolV2 ,which has a dedicated mode for bricked phones or downloads the latest fastboot roms for you.

I had excaxtly that witha my mi5 , completely dead .
Leave it on the charger for a little bit, mine after an unsuccessful flash with mi flash (catastrophic error message) it turned back on.
IF not download XiaomiTool V2 and try the option for bricked phones.
I tried that yesterday but that option is still in development. Only the modifications one is supported currently. As for the issue mentioned, maybe it's really just a matter of charging the phone first. Can't hurt either way.

Try to use the EDL mode
How to force it to EDL by key combination or maybe deep flash cable ?
My Mi account is authorized for EDL flash but I cant get Mi9 into EDL mode on my PC ( Windows10 )
No OS, but working TWRP
Hi,
I have a similar problem with my mi 9.
I followed a really bad description for the update xiaomi.eu from MIUI10 to MIUI11.
https://www.chinahandys.net/xiaomi-eu-rom-update/
It recomended to wipe alvik / Art Cache, Cache AND System :crying:
So I do not have no OS any more. However, TRWP is still working.
I have a Backup but it did not work :crying:
Is there a better option than the Mi Flash tool?
Please help me!
Since you already have TWRP, download the latest Xiaomi.eu custom ROM available for the Mi 9, which is 9.11.7 to your computer.
Also download the latest TWRP by Mauronofrio from XDA which is 3.3.1-42.
Then use adb to transfer both the ROM and TWRP to your Mi 9.
In TWRP, install TWRP first and manually reboot to twrp using the vol up + power button.
In TWRP, install the ROM, do a factory reset, then finally reboot.

Thank you very much for your reply.
When I tried to make my TWRP backup work I had several problems.
First was "vendor read only". So I went in TWRP to "mount" and unticked the "mount vendor partition read-only" (sounds easy, took me some time to find out)
Then I was able to do the restore without error message. However just boot loop and only the possibility to access TWRP.
After some while I realized that this restored the wiped system partition.
So I flashed the aktual MIUI 11 9.11.7 again and rebooted.
And it worked perfectly! :victory:
I did no Factory reset all the time, it seems that everything is perfect!
No lags, no problems with the camera, no issues with auto rotation.

So my redmi note 3 stopped charging and the charge was finished.
During this lockdown, I found a shop that was open so I decided to give it there. The guy told that the charging board got short and needed it to be replaced. He replaced it and charged me 10USD.
But he said that, while replacing the board the software was gone and phone was stuck in a bootloop. I said I can fix that myself and I brought it home.
I tried installing the latest available stock ROM MIUI 10.2.1 global ,also tried MIUI 9.6.
But I encountered the same problem everywhere.
Back camera doesn't work, says can't connect to camera.
SIM card does not get detected.
Loudspeaker doesn't work.
WiFi works but you need to wait a while after rebooting the phone.
Brightness sensor doesn't work.
So I decided to give the phone back to the shop, he told me today that there is an error and he needs 15$ to repair it but it can't be done currently in this lockdown.
What might have happened to the device? I don't trust the shop person.
I’ve had some of the issues before. Brightness sensor and all other sensors didn't work, camera didn't work, WiFi didn't work. But for me the loudspeaker and SIM card worked.
All I had to do is flash the persist.img file.
- You should have an unlocked bootloader.
- The persist.img file should be located in the images folder of the zip file of the fastboot ROM.
- Copy it to the desktop.
- Run fastboot flash persist persist.img command in your PC while your phone is in fastboot mode and check if everything gets fixed.

Ur charging board will burn diode if u use 9v or 12v QC charger. Only 5v is safe for kenzo.
U dont need to throw that board. Just use tiny flat screw driver and scratch and remove the burnt diode from the board. Phone wil start charging again.
Local repair shops give cheap quality charging board. I bought 2 boards from ebay and aliexpress. One is HMFS and CTFS. both works fine with network.

Just collected my phone, dude told that my IMEI is erased and that is the reason why my phone is behaving like this ,
should I first flash persist.img or try something else?
The persist.img did not solve anything.
I'm trying to restore IMEI using different methods but I'm getting some problem.
What would be the best method to restore IMEI?
I have already unlocked bootloader and rooted my device.

I'm pretty sure that I used this or a similar approach to restoring note 3 IMEIs in the past.

I tried a method in which i had to flash modem file using fastboot,
after that my device doesn't go past MI logo.
It goes to MI logo then turns off.
I tried installing stock ROM through edl mode, fastboot mode, recovery mode but same result, device doesn't go past MI logo
Recently hard bricked my x7 max and while using MTK/SP tools gettings errors so need someone to help. I have seen so many people with same issues but no details troubleshooting guide here and also on YT.
Steps i took
Unlock bootloader(with stock rom and RUI4, Android 13, latest update)
Installed TWRP(found one twrp that actually worked but i was not able to backup the rom, showing errors while taking backup, error 255)
I thought i can revert on stock using SP tools so moved ahead
Once in TWRP, i installed Project elixir ROM and rebooted to bootloader, phone got dead.
I tried VCOM,linusb,SP flash tool and MTK Authbypass (brom waiting , maybe some issue in detect)
Today tried again(Somehow Brom was ok, but didnt get Authbypass message)
Tried multiple times but now it show error (image attached)
Need further assistance.
Didnt know how bad all these custom rom installing has become. In my days it was cool and fun without getting any errors( i was taking about 2015/2017....)
Kind of same thing happened to me 2 days ago. Trying to root the device and everything was fine until I restarted the phone. After that it just got hard bricked total black screen no realme logo, fastboot or recovery. Had to go into EDL mode and flash the offical rom. In my case there was no error in the mtk bypass tool and everything flashed without any errors. This time the phone booted normally and straight went to realme recovery mode and from there I just wiped the userdata and this time it got stuck in orange state(no realme animation logo). Although this time I could access the fastboot, so tried to install twrp but after flashing, nothing happened same stuck in orange state warning. After this again I tried to flash using mtk tool and after doing that everything remained same but I couldn't access fastboot anymore. The funny story is now I cannot even flash using mtk tool anymore. So, everything is ****ed, I don't think customer service can fix this, would be better to buy a new phone.
My experience with realme phone specially with mtk processor has been extremely bad , I faced errors after errors. Earlier I had redmi note 7 pro and it was excellent in terms of flashing roms and all. So many times I had bricked the device but could fix it no issues.
Anyway as I didn't faced this error I don't know how to fix this. I also used this exact same version also. Try using https://saransaro.com/SP_Flash_Tool_v6.2216_Win.zip . And see if this works.
Also, don't flash the scatter file of firmware after a.22 as it doesn't work for some reason . I used the a.22 one it worked fine.
Please let me know if you were able to fix it or not.
