I want to use the stock camera (for slow motion, 4k 60FPS, other lenses and other features) on lineageOS. Is this at all possible? Or is there a GCAM app with these features?

Hi.
If you find one, I'm very much interested. I actually quite like the quality of the pictures with the stock camera.

Does anybody here use an alternative camera app on their S6? I know Google has their camera app, but I find it a tad slow on the auto-focus. I generally like the stock camera app, but just seeing if there are any other third-party apps that might be better in terms of quality of the photo and speed of the app.

open camera you can recorde 4K video with 100mbit and 30 fps
Just tried out the built in cam in lightroom for diffrent scenarios. It really bests both the built in cam and the gcam for both normal and hdr scenarios. Try adobe lightrooms cam out with HDR enabled. Skip the gcam hype.

Just one example zoomed in. This was at night. Much more dnr dynamic range with lightroom cam.
Even more pronounced in daylight though. But test it for yourelf. The image file is 40mb un edited. Any serious photographer on any phone should use the lightroom cam from now on.

Some proof lightroom camera totally BLOWS google camera away

These are max zoom ins. And not even in any hard hdr scenario. In a scenario where hdr is needed the lightroom camera is even more overpowered.
Looks impressive. Cheers.

App link?
Just go into playstore and search for and download
"Adobe lightroom".
Now there would be nice to compair the pixel2 and the note8 with both cams using lightroom hdr camera to really se what phone takes the best pics.

No. Does it require root? Wher can one get it? Id like to compaire it.
- i just tried it! Amazing! BUT SLOW. alot slower than lightroom. Tomorrow i will compair it with lightroom for quality. Sad the final hdr picture from open camera isnt in RAW format. I will post back on details of quality in 24 hrs.

Yeah but no raw format for the hdr image using hdr function. Lightroom does hdr out of raw files whereas im thinking lr cam is better. But ofc we need to test.
I just tested lowlight.
1. Lightroom preserves more detail and more dnr
2. Opencamera hdr is more compressed ie less detail but less noise. (You could still do manual nrd on lr)
3. No majour differences but a minor plus for the LR cam. LR cam is also quicker.
summary. Lightroom is best. Its quick and gives a bit better quality due to rawfiles in its hdr compaired to opencamera.
Example. Lr on the right. Quite alot more detail zoomed in very much. Opencamera gets very muddy and there is no way you can see each tile on the house.

What about the portrait mode in Lightroom, most of the people use GCam only for its exceptional portrait mode option!
This mod replaces 120 fps slow motion. It contains stock nubia camera, imx362 libmmcamera and chromatix xml, media profiles tuned to shoot 240 fps. This mod is not for stock camera only, U can use other apps capable to shoot slomo like Hedge Camera, Smooth Action-Cam Slowmo, Freedcam (there is a bit frame loss 235-240 fps but here U can change bit rate, codec (hevc) or even shoot with flat pfofile. Stable 240 fps is reached only by stock camera and snapdragon camera at any light condition. The slowest shutter speed is 1/286,8 sec., the highest ISO is 5377. So in low light video is dark and noisy. Stock cam has problems with af, so U'd better lock it before shooting. Tested on Nubia ui 5.52.
Download and install with TWRP.

I tried on linage and stock camera didn't use 240 fps. I suppose it was my fault (made it manually and missed some files) but hedgecamera gave me stable 240 fps. Also tried on Miui 10 and it works. Tomorrow will test mokee 9 and will try to get 240 fps. GSI never tried.
240FPS Really? I will go download and try it on the RR right away. Thank you:good:

The preview is a bit cropped (our phone can't handle not cropped 240 slomo like Pixel 2, I don't know why) BTW htc U11+ and Asus zenfone 4 pro (hardware similar phones) also use cropped slomo. Only Pixel 2 can do it without tricks.

hello ... can anyone advise me on which video settings are the best stabilization? I don't see the difference and the video is shaky thank you
On stock camera app use 30fps for stabilization, 60fps is not stabilized.

For video, i think there is no any.
Hi everybody,
I see several threads which are dealing with the best camera or best camera settings for PHOTOGRAPHY.
But I haven't found any that is dealing with VIDEO.
As I am more into taking videos I would like to know which app (and settings) you recommend and why.
Thanks!

I'll stay with MIUI camera for video recording (default settings). Most of 3rd party cameras are only optimized for photography. But yeah, instead of judging which one is better you can test it one by one by yourself.

I have tested a couple of GCam versions and the Leica-Camera and think that none of those was good.
As I am on an AOSP ROM I could not install MIUI camera.
Probably MIUI camera is the best one for video recording but I do not know.
And probably there are some GCam mods which are even better.
Could you please explain why you prefer MIUI camera. Is it the sharpness, expore, noise reduction, or any other parameter?

I'm not really expert with photo/videography, but i'm just looking the video results with the default settings of 3rd party cameras compared to the MIUI camera. The results were MIUI camera have better video stabilization compared to the 3rd party cameras.
