if not
2. then can anyone on ROOTED x2 pro help me confirming Mixer_path.xml file trick?
under /system/vendor/etc OR /system/etc
there should be many mixer_path.xml files and usually line sucha HPLR output =13, if you make it 20 and
RX1 DIGITAL to RX8 DIGITAL if u change from 84 to 100 and REBOOT
the earphone VOLUME get amazing BOOST
Is that the same case with REALME X2 PRO (android 9 or 10)
please help

It's better to just install V4A and have control over everything instead of fiddling like that. It is a little bit quieter than I would have liked, though I don't need to go over ~70% loudness for two of the headphones I tested (without any mods), so it's perfectly fine for me. If you use high impedance headphones then yeah, you might have an issue without V4A.

Volume Boost - No Effect Editing mixer_paths.xml

Hi, folks.
I'm trying to increase media volume to my bluetooth earbuds. I just got a new pair and they're about 1/2 as loud at max volume than my last pair. I take a train to work every morning and it's very noisy, and the volume is pretty disappointing.
In mixer_paths.xml I've edited "RX1" and "RX2" digital volume values up to 92, and HPHL and HPHR volume values to 22 (were already at 20). It's having no effect whatsoever, so I'm wondering if there is another value I should edit for bluetooth volume. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi did you ever figure this out? I'm having this problem now.
Thanks-
You should try viper4android. Install the apk.
You might need BusyBox but I'm not sure. Change your
SeLinuxmode to permissive, you can do this using the
app selinuxmodechanger, also apk. Then in a file explorer
go to /vendor/etc and change audio_effects.conf to
audio_effects.conf.bak. Once you've done that go
to viper4android and click install drivers. Your phone might
act a little weird but that's normal just wait until it's finished then reboot. Go to the app and slide over to bleutooth and there you can make your earbuds louder by changing gain.
Hope this is clear

How to increase headphone volume

I've been trying to find a guide to increase the volume of the headphones only. Haven't found anything that was useful. So I tried myself playing with the settings in the mixer_paths.xml file.
To increase the headphone volume, change the values under the "headphones" part
HPOUT1 Digital Volume" id="0" value="128"
HPOUT1 Digital Volume" id="1" value="128"
Change the 128 part to whatever you like. I haven't tested going higher than 135 as that is more than loud enough for me!
Take a backup of the mixer_paths.xml before playing with this file. And make you once you have edited it you have the permissions set properly.
Hope that was useful for some of us who like silly loud headphone audio
Great tip!
Do you which field I should edit in order to increase in call volume? It feels rather low sometimes and I know the speaker can handle going higher up.

I haven't tried so I can't really help with that. On my Moto X call volume via the earpiece is very loud already.
does this work for bluetooth audio too? im having issues with my sony sbh20 and style, the volume is really low compared to wired headphones.
EDIT: seems like it's not....

Volume Boost Note 8

Is there a way to boost the volume without Root?
Thanks for any help!
need that too!
First make sure your media volume limiter is off, then go to equalizer and push all frequencies to max, that should give you about 10 dB extra.
Can't promise that it will work but they're is an app called SpeakerBoost that I've installed
..... Seems to work

how do you do that
settings/sounds and vibration/sound quality and effects
actually just go to settings, click on search functions (circle with with line on the bottom, top right corner) and type media volume limiter, or whatever function you're looking for
I try it, but continue with low volume. My previous Note 2 had louder audio.
ok
Just a comment, my 950F does not have a media volume limiter option
Download "Speaker Booster" on the Play Store. Hope this helps
I tried pretty much everything but nothing really actually worked. If you use the SoundAlive profiles or boost the EQ it just limits the two top volume levels from working.
I have now rooted and manually changed the mixer_gains.xml file and it's amazing now. super loud with no distortion at all.
Sadly rooting is really the only way to go. Dunno why Samsung limit the volume so much when the DAC is capable of a far better volume output. It's the one thing that really lets this handset down.

Can you link me the mixer paths you used?
All you need to do is change the values in mixer_gains.xml as per the screenshot. Root only of course.
This is only for the wired headphone volume.
After trying about 5 models of headphones and being ridiculously low volume in all of them (especially in Spotify and YouTube videos), I found a expensive solution, but that has solved the problem withoutroot, i have bought the Jaybird X3, very good quality, very good volume and good insulation, despite being in ear.
I still think that with normal headphones, such as those that come in the box of AKG, Xiaomi Piston 2, Sony STH32, Sony SBH24 or even the great AudioTechnica M40X the volume is ridiculously low on this mobile.
Greetings.
It is ridiculously low, and has been on Samsung mobiles for a while now. Seems they need to protect us from ourselves. sad.
As stated above, root and a simple change to a text file makes one hell of a difference.
Another good solution is an external DAC like the Creative E3. It works well too and no need to root.
Hey, I'm with you all ; the volume of the note 8 is low. Now I tried every GD volume app on the play store and none work. I kept looking and I found one that works: Music Equalizer and Bass Booster by Coocent. This app no **** will increase volume. I swear.

Could you please advice if this would work if you use Bluetooth devices, such as speakers or headphones? I mean it is so annoying that samsung actually achieve year over year to have worst volume... just when you think it couldn't get worst.
I would appreciate if you can let me know!

I followed your tip, but in my 950F, exynos, this app in fact decreases the volume! It may only work with snapdragons

Xiaomi Mi 8 low speaker volume

Hi, I'm really intersted in buying the Xiaomi Mi 8. The only thing that bothers me is the pretty low speaker volume.
I noticed that there is a mod to increase the speaker volume:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/themes/mod-speaker-headphones-volume-boost-t3828314
Does it really work? Is it really louder and noticeable?
I thougt about buying he pocophone f1 instead which has a louder skpeaker but I afraid that the IPS screen instead of AMOLED is not good enough.
Thanks!

Thank you for answering!
After the boost - is the volume is loud enough? I mean is the sound as loud as average smartphone?
Does the sound quality get damaged from the boost?
Thanks!
I unable to save the mixer file after modifying. How can I fix it?
