First of all love the phone however something has become evident, its not getting updates. I am UK unlocked, stuck on April patch, checking sammobile the middle east is stuck on January patch. The only version that seems to be getting updates is the north American A715W version.
This wouldn't be an issue were it not for the fact that I left Huawei P30 because it was only getting updates 2-3 times per year. Also last years A series is getting monthly udaptes. MY work A50 is on July patch and gets an update every month.
Why would this be? Not good service for a new phone, that's like the new iPhone SE not getting updates while the iPhone 7 is.

Attached. Why does this matter?
The penny has dropped. Exynos is the difference. They are not updating snapdragon
no problem with your device , you'll get updates when released
regards
A71 is getting quarterly updates. I got one in July next will be in Dec.
Im unlocked UK version R58N133XTVN, Im still on April. It s a bit of a joke that my wifes Honor 10 Lite ( cost 90 pounds ) have updated to July , I'm way behind. I assume its just a case of waiting, hopefully, it's not like my LG was .. when it was a year in between updates then it stopped. I could have put a ROM on that phone, but I've been there done that.

I am from india. I ordered moto g 2 from flipkart which was returned for defective screen. While i received replacement product today, i was wondering the defective unit was showing software update version 21.11.23 but the replacement unit is showing version 21.11.14 and no software update. I tried with motorola device manager and ota and still no update. Can anyone help in update or should i replace the product? Is it a defect?

Not talking about android lolipop. I am talking about 120 mb update with google now as default launcher. I am worried as the defective unit was updating to latest version while replacement is not. Is it normal or defective unit. Should I return it. Also what version is latest version in India

Just received a notification for "Motorola Sensor Service Firmware" upgrade. Does anyone have any idea what it is?
I am still running Kitkat and haven't yet upgraded to Lollipop.

Wonder if its the one that came out in September and you just haven't taken it yet? Check the play store for Motorola sensor services. When I first got my phone in October most of the Motorola apps needed to be updated but I needed to find them manually....once you find one just check the others apps from same dev to get them all easier.
Unless this is a new one which I hope it is, would be more exciting

Thanks for the reply.
I just bought the phone couple of days back and have only updated the Moto apps came preloaded and installed my needed apps. Haven't even updated to Lollipop.
How do I know if this one is the Sept update? is there any way to know the version? What is version of the the Sept update?
I am annoyed by the camera autofocus performance during video shooting. Does the Sept update fix that issue? Rest of things are working absolutely fine, I hope the update doesn't break them.
I got this update earlier in the week. There was a big dump of Motorola app updates. I just got my phone a few weeks ago so I don't know if it's a catch-up update or a newer one.
Looks like the 80MB upgrade (Version R840XXU1BTG6) that was available to other places (Canada for one), is available now. I have a BT only 45mm GW3 and it received the upgrade. ECG is not listed and does not seem to be included in this version.
There is talk the the LTE version of the GW3 won't get it yet as it has to be approved by the carrier .. but I can't confirm as I have a BT only version.

That stinks. I have the LTE version. I wonder how long it will take Verizon to approve this?
So, I finally got my watch activated with Verizon last night. I got the update this morning. I confirmed that I now have the Blood Oxygen option.
I have the 45mm LTE on Verizon and received it yesterday morning but 48.10 MB . Version R845USQU1BTG6
It does have Blood Oxygen, Advanced Running Analysis and Sleep score. SPO2 works about 1 out every 10 tries.
EDIT: After many failed attempts at getting SPO2 to work I did exactly what the fail message tells you not to do and turned the watch to the inside of my wrist and it worked six tries in a row.

Hmmmm.....I was not planning to activate on VZW, but perhaps I will need to do that for 1 month to get the update?
I know it's a $10 monthly service charge. Was there any additional activation fee (I bought my watch from BestBuy)?
Has anyone with the watch activated on AT&T received the update? I just bought the lte watch (online) and have not activated it yet, but I might not be in a rush to activate if AT&T has not pushed the update out yet.
A new update is on the way for the P40 series, one of Huawei's pupils. The update does not upgrade the device, it stops on Android 10 / EMUI 10.1, but increases its security with routine security patches.

How Does Huawei Update Distribution Work?
Once an update is released, it reaches only one percent of active devices within the first 24 to 48 hours. This is to allow Huawei to monitor and control device errors at startup. Scheduled updates are done within one to two weeks. And it can take up to 8 weeks.
So even if the update has been announced to be deployed / started to deploy, you may not see it on your device yet, which is completely normal!

It's not completly clear and I can't find any trustworthy infos about the future of the next big Android update for Edge 20. Us were promised two big updates, but just can find that our beloved Edge 20 is not on any update list for A13. How could it go on and has anyone infos about this?
It's not because motorola offers only one major update officiali

They promised 2 major updates. Very annoying.
Motorola have stuck true to their word, and have added the Edge 20 and its variants to the list of phones getting the upgrade fairly recently. I believe they had marketed this particular model as having 2 "big" updates rather than the usual 1, hence why they have added it to the list.
Hope this helps even with the age of this thread.
Motorola usually updates phones after the release of the new edge series, after the global version of edge 40 they will start updating older phones with android 13. I'm guessing that the edge 20 will receive the update around April or May, It could also come late this month but it's unlikely. You can watch the release date of android 12 on this same device to get an idea.
Now we can say that the update delayed a little bit more, but seen in china region already. So we almost there, maybe this month
