For 3 or 4 months the phone worked great. Could play hours any kind of game with no issues. Then all of a sudden the phone begun to reboot randomly 3, 4 or 5 times straight for no reason. Would even reboot while in my pocket. Another frecuent issue is apps crashing. All the apps and extensions frequently crash (facebook, instagrame, Chrome, Gboard, Mi apps) might be those I am using as well as the ones I am not. Another issue is that it won't install updates, the system downloads them but fails to install, I had to use fastboot option.
I tried wiping the phone to factory, installing EU ROM, Global ROM, Changing to MIUI 12. When wiping the phone I even tried installing apps manually to see if there was a particular one messing with the phone.
NOTHING WORKS!!!
Do not know what else to do... I am about to throw the phone a buy a new one... planning to move out of Xioami...:crying:
ANY IDEAS???

Have you tried formatting (completely different to wiping) data partition before you've flashed any of these roms.
A few things 1st though, just to confirm anyways
Is your bootloader unlocked? Also you have stated you have tried eu rom, is this the xiaomi.eu custom rom you are referring to and if so what type of custom recovery do you have.
Based on my experience with my previous phones, frequent random reboot would only mean:
1) Your battery is bad
2) Flash storage is bad
3) Chip gone bad (CPU, IC, probably anything)
No amount of reset, flash would fix this issue. You need to bring the phone to the service center. Usually they'll change the whole motherboard or battery depending on the issue.
You can try to flash any AOSP rom and see if still having those issues.

I used Mi Unlock to unlock the bootloader, and yes the roms I used were official ones. I tried downloading the OTA and the Recovery files but can't install those. The Phone starts installing and at 7 or 8% is stops and reboots. So in order to install the different roms I downloaded Mi flash and used the fastboot files. Installing the roms through Mi flash from my computer into the phone does get me to the end of the installation.
How would the formatting work?

Use custom recovery like TWRP or orangefox. Backup your data to any external drive, then boot into recovery and use format data option. Also, as someone stated above, try aosp roms as well.

Hello XDA Devs and fellow members, this is my first post here on XDA and I feel this is necessary as I need an immediate solution for my issue. After unlocking my Mi5 basic 3/32 while on MIUI Dev Rom, I flashed CM13 official nightly 21/11. Despite CM being lighter and supposedly faster than MIUI, I've had sluggishness on my Xiaomi Mi5 during regular use which I have never encountered while using MIUI Global Dev Rom for over 4 months. I totally understand this was due to the nightly versions having bugs, but I decided to move back to MIUI until an official CM 13 build is released. I booted into TWRP and wiped Cache, Dalvik, and System and this is where I screwed up, I didn't wipe data factory reset! I proceeded and installed MIUI Global Stable for Xiaomi Mi5 and completed the setup. Throughout the setup Google Keyboard and Google Play Services kept on crashing, but I thought it was something with the apps themselves so I cleared data on both Google Keyboard and Google Play Services. I still had all my apps which I installed on CM13, to my surprise. Here is where it all went south, I locked my device using the sleep button, and when I tried to unlock it Google Keyboard crashed and the keyboard doesn't pop up when I click "enter password." I've tried draining my battery, rebooted the phone quite a lot and still Google Keyboard, the default keyboard for MIUI, doesn't show up. Is there any way to fix this? I do not need any data on the phone, as I've already backed up all my important files before flashing MIUI. I hope the people here on XDA can help me through this ****hole, as I've just ordered an USB-OTG cable to try my luck entering my passcode using external keyboard. If there are any other ways, please do reply to this thread and help a newbie out. Thank you very much in advance, I really need help as it's my one and only phone and I've been stuck without a phone for 3 days now. Looking forward to hear from you guys soon. Thank you again!

You have 2 way option to get your phone bot normally..
1. First way is if you don't need TWRP and wanna back to the stock clearly and fresh..you can flashing fastboot rom with miflash tool.
in case you don't know where's to find fastboot rom and miflash tool just download it from here :Miflash & Fastboot rom
2. You can repeat your way before to flashing from TWRP but this time just select advance wipe then select cache, dalvik, system and data, then after that..you can flashing miui recovery rom again then reboot.
Hope it's help..
It all started a while back, while I had Miui 7.5. After one year working perfectly, it suddenly started bootlooping.
Well, I tried everything. Factory reset, full wipes, mi flash, flashing xiaomi.eu, flashing en.miui, stable roms, developer roms, buying a new battery and replacing it, installing by OTG with full wipes.. absolutely EVERYTHING.
And after having done so many things, my phone DID come back to life with only one rom: leo_images_5.9.17_20150826.0000.7_5.0_cn_b8ece3aeb3
Now, why on Earth would it work perfectly with that one, (I don't like it and I would love to change it), and it doesn't work with the newest stable or developer one, global, xiaomi.eu, 6.12.22. LineageOS....
With all of those, when I flash them just like I flash the one that works (with twrp 2.8.6), it either shows the MI logo forever or it restarts every 10 seconds.
Does anyone have any idea?? Thanks!!!!
Do you still have that ROM? I need it to try solving a NO SERVICE issue
Yes you can't install other rom just try to download the newest from their page
Hi guys, So I recently bought mi 8 global version. I changed the region to HK,Taiwan Italy u name it but it only gives me 2D Face unlock. is there a way to avtivate it? Thanks.

You are talking about IR unlock. and it sounds like you are already using it. For example, go into a pitch-black room and use face ID to unlock the phone. if it unlocks in a pitch-black room, it's already activated. You will notice the IR receiver turns red as this happens.
While the Stable rom is great, once you can unlock the bootloader, give the custom Miui Xiaomi.EU rom a try. The Xiaomi.EU rom includes all of the bleeding edge features that have not yet made their way onto the stable rom. Plus, there is no need to disable ads, there aren't any to disable and you do not need to change regions, to be allowed to access the best features.
Additionally, Xiaomi.EU rom is based on the Weekly developers, China builds, and as the stable build, Google Play services is built-in, it also includes the drivers from the global build. The only drawback is that it is released weekly, and if you flash updates with every release, you will experience occasional bugs. ( it is based on beta afterall) So, it's best, to stick with the builds without bugs and update only occasionally instead of weekly. With that being said there are also many great custom ROMs, including the latest Pixel Rom which is also stellar.
Enjoy your new phone.

You need to format your data partition. All your files will be lost, so try to backup them somehow. You can find how to format data using TWRP on YouTube. Good search.

You may need to mount system first, and then your desktop may be able to see the files. You will also need to install root, until you change from stock. I would suggest using Orange fox, but it's different from using TWRP.
Since you have TWRP, keep using it until you have mastered it's use than change to Orange fox later.
The stock Rom automatically encrypts your data so as the other person said you may need to format user data. Format type yes, reboot to recovery
When wiping on choose wiping caches, data, and storage only when needed. i would suggest buy a fast USB 3.0 drive and a OTBA to USB A adapter. You can get them cheap at places like Walmart, typically around $5.
While videos can be helpful, this page can answer any of your questions about TWRP : https://twrp.me/FAQ/
just take your time, never wipe Persist if it's in the wipe menu, never wipe system unless using a rom that instructs that you do so. in most cases swiping factory reset is all you need to do when installing new rom.
This post may be a little out of data : but you can find the majority of what you need here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/how-to/how-to-install-roms-resolve-issues-t3911611

Can you see my signature?
Rollback protections were never enabled on the Mi8 by Xiaomi, so why wouldn't you be able to downgrade? You will have to format data though. (format, not wipe)
Next the newer versions of Miui 11, especially the beta versions are vastly better than previous builds. There is a a lot more features, more overall fluidity, less issues with permissions and notifications, and better overall battery life.

Hey everyone,
I just saw this news that the Android 11 open beta is out. Here's the link https://piunikaweb.com/2020/12/30/x...roid-11-public-beta-update-for-these-devices/
I'm currently downloading it now and I'll probably get a chance to flash it tomorrow. The file is 3.53 GB

I'm still backing stuff up... It's taking forever, I've spent the last half an hour trying to get Titanium Backup to work, it kept on crashing and not opening. I've got it up and running now and just backing up apps. I've also gone into TWRP and backed up all the smaller partitions. There's a video here of a guy talking through the set up and installation (in some other language...)
-------------
edit - update
Installed and it's running fine. It thinks its the Redmi K30S Ultra, and a few things are in Chinese, it looks like I'll be doing some debloating, but otherwise it seems all good. Camera seems to be working fine
My phone is a Mi 10t Global (not pro)
Little offtopic - anyone actually tried to restore smaller partitions in TWRP after backing up? I've heard from some people that it doesn't work on mi 10t, and if you actually do break something you can't fix it?

I installed from TWRP recovery, it installs fine. I'm not sure about stock recovery, I'm guessing it would work. Someone mentioned above that the camera wasn't working correctly on the Mi 10t Pro with this build too
To be honest, this rom is a bit of a nightmare... There's so much crap, bloatware, and Chinese rubbish installed in it. I've spent the last day trying to clean it up and remove stuff.
Other than that it runs nice and fast and snappy. I'm just worried about how much data is being sent back to China to be honest.
I've found that xiaomi.eu have already released a miui 12.5 rom based off this build and they've apparently cleaned up a lot of the crap and it has google play store and services preinstalled. The thread is here https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/20-12-28-29.59085/
I'm downloading it now, I have a feeling it'll be much less of a headache. I'll update once I try it out

Just finishing setting it up now. I had trouble initially installing it as it wouldn't boot (probably because I tried to avoid formatting data...) and the stock recovery that it flashed was in Chinese and TWRP wouldn't let me see the internal storage or flash anything... It was a bit of a soft brick and took ages to get out of...
It's up and running now and was a bit tricky to get it flashed. I had to do a few steps to get it running.
Flash the TWRP for our device then boot to it.
Format data and write 'yes' (this wipes everything, so back up first)
Reboot to recovery
*Then the problem was that I couldn't access the internal storage, so what I had to do was go to backup -> backup boot partition -> reboot into recovery, then I could access the internal storage and see the TWRP folder on internal storage and then copy files across...
Copy across the xiaomi.eu 20.12.29 rom and magisk 20.2
Flash ROM
I'm currently letting Google install backed up stuff before I go back and install Magisk.
So far the ROM looks nice, has google apps installed and none of the bloatware crap. I'd definitely recommend this ROM over the Chinese beta

This worked for me. Nice one!
For some weeks now my Redmi Note 10 Pro has been facing severe lags. The lags appear regularly about each 5 sec. Then the video and audio or the UI freezes completly for about 1 sec, making it impossible to watch videos or making phone calls. I flashed several roms but it's the same issue everywhere. I even put back the phone in factory condition fashing MIUI and relocking the bootloader, but with no success. At the moment I am coming to the conclusion that I must have damaged my hardware somehow.

Try really clean flash with fw and formating data in TWRP with yes.
For example Los 19.1

Formating by manually typing yes in TWRP and firmware first then ROM and then formating is mandatory

I think you misunderstand me. As stated above I went through several ROMs and when reverting back to MIUI I used MIUI Flash Tool. It formates/wipes everything and installs the latest firmware/rom completely new. Besides that I did a "format data" after every custom rom installation.

Yes. I even tried several different firmwares. In the meantime I also did a CPU stress test it shows no problems.

If this is not working too, your phone has a hardware prob....
Is it lagging when you are in airplane mode(WIFI scan issues) ? Or stressing CPU(IT'S not stuck in low frequency) ? Clear data from Gapps?
If this is clear and above steps are still same, as @Laptapper said suspect hardware.
I flashed back to custom ROM as described by @Laptapper. The problem still persists. Also with a downloaded 1080p video and airplane mode on. CPU Stress Tests shows no abnormalities.
Thanks for all the good ideas and the input. I will give this phone up. I probably screwed the hardware. Anyhow it was a nice time with this phone, the great community and custom rom support.
