Hi guys,
I have a Note 3 at the moment and was able to bypass the exchange security settings using a custom ROM.
I'm buying a Note 5 and need to be able to bypass the exchange security settings on it as well. Just wondering how I can do this on the Note 5 with the least amount of stuffing around/customising my phone? I don't need any other fancy features at all - I really only use my phone for calls, messages, emails, Facebook and Snapchat.
Any help would be appreciated

There is section called Q&A!
BUMP - just got a new Note 5 (in Australia).
Just wondering what the easiest method is to bypass exchange security? I'd like to keep my phone as stock as possible.
I heard the Nine app can bypass the settings but can't see anything online about this. I can see that it can make the PIN required for the app, rather than to unlock the phone altogether, but I want to get rid of the PIN/password altogether.
I don't mind using the Nine app, or normal Email app, I just want to keep the phone as stock as possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks
Anyone?
In my company you get fired if you get caught circumventing exchange security... True of most companies in my industry.
So can't help you there. Would be a dumb way to get fired.
Just use Nine and put in the pin... It really isn't that big of an inconvenience.

You can use mailwise which has an option to bypass exchange security. Plus it's a decent mail app.

Thanks for this! Works well. I had quit putting exchange on my phone because I hated the security. I resigned to just using chrome and our corporate web email.
I already use a fingerprint security on my phone but Outlook admins disabled the use SmartLock which is an oversight in my opinion. They don't let SmartLock but do allow me to keep my phone unlocked for up to 30 minutes. So bypassing exchange security and using my thumbprint with SmartLock (when connected to my Moto 360) is more secure IMO.
As a side note Wanam Xposed module had exchange bypass though I haven't used it in forever so not sure if it still has it.
Thanks guys, I tried Mailwise and Nine and didn't like them - I want to use the stock app.
Looks like I'll have to root + xposed module. Just wondering if I'll still be able to use Snapchat if I do this?

As long as you login to snapchat before installing xposed then you shouldn't have any problems.
Snapchat won't login if it detects xposed, but does not check for xposed after you've already logged in.

Thanks mate. WHat about when you update Snapchat and have to login again?
I had issues recently when I updated Snapchat and it checked for root and wouldn't let me log in. I had to use snapprefs to get around it which was a hassle....

I'm on the latest snapchat with root/xposed and it hasn't asked me to log back in after updates. Though I have had it ask me to login and not work after an update, once. Just not in the past few months..

Only way I'm aware of is uninstalling the xposed module and reinstalling it again. Which is probably even more of a hastle than snapprefs.
When I bought the device I checked to make sure there was no Facebook bundled into the OS. I bought the P30 Pro in Hong Kong. Upon leaving later I checked my apps and Facebook appeared with no uninstall option. WTF? I did not download or install Facebook on it and checked to make sure that when I bought it that it did not have Facebook on it.
More info can be seen here..

Huawei is either dishonest with uninstall option or someone is really stupid doing the programming. See link above for more info. If you uninstall something it should not be able to come back period. If I the garbage was thrown away outside in the garbage dumpster I should not see it back in my house again and if I deleted, uninstalled or had the app thrown away it should not pop back on again in my smartphone. I have never deleted an app in my iPhone only to see it after present in my app list Did Facebook pay Huawei money to make sure it can not be uninstalled? Why is it that in the actually Google App Play Store it can only be disabled but in the Huawei App Store it can be deleted only to then pop back up again when Huawei app is disabled?
This is not the Facebook App, this is Facebook services. It was there from the beginning, same as with the P20 Pro before. You can uninstall it easily via ADB.

Isn't Root required to use ADB?
A simple Google search can guide you on how to remove it via ADB. Facebook and it's framework services are bundled in almost every global version phones now. I had it in my S10 plus as well. Just disable them if you don't want to remove it.
No root required

That looks a bit complicated..
We already know that anything related to Facebook and disable is useless. If it can not be uninstalled then something is up.
I just watched the video you linked. If you go to the 1 minute and 30 second mark you will hear that he says we are not actually uninstalling the app but are hiding it from the user which is exactly what the Huawei Gallery app did.
It‘s not complicated. And you are not disabling it, you are UNINSTALLING it with adb FROM THE CURRENT USER. That means it is not removed from the device but uninstalled for your user account. Like windows can do, or mac os. No more facebook services, then, unless you reset or install a major update.

Will it work with a MacBook Pro or do you have to have a Windows based laptop to work?
It works fine on the mac, I am a mac user myself.
Will try to see how I can get it to work on my Mac but as of now it manages to pop back up again which is not good.

Not sure why its popping back on yours, never had any issue on mine after removing it and all its services via adb. Even after so many updates (currently on .153) , it never came back.

I think I know why. I updated to the newer firmware version. I downloaded and updated to the newest version and I think after I downloaded and updated it brought back the Facebook apps.

If you only disabled it then yeah , it probably returned after the update. If you remove it via adb, then it won't come back. Facebook and its services are standard now in most of the phones not only huawei.
I wonder how much money Facebook paid Huawei? for additional Spyware to be built into their OS with no straight out uninstall option for end users ?

I just bought it, no plans to sell it yet. Not a cheap smartphone. You could buy one online though. I picked mine up in Hong Kong. For about $7K HKD (just under that).
Hi guys
I have a persistent problem with my p30 pro. I get notifications very late or not at all only if I open the app (whatsapp, messenger, email etc) then I get all messages at once. Its very frustrating because I had some important ones sometimes. Is there any fix for this? Anyone having same problems at all?
Also after I cleaned up some bloatware, I am not able to log in my mobile banking app. Is there any package I have to install back?
Please help... Thank you very much.

Alex

As you have a chinese version of the phone and you installed the GMS(if you did for having Google services) separately, therefore your notifications won't work properly, because many apps notifications are GMS related and your phone might not be Google certified. The same problem is present on P40 / P40 Pro users that bought the phone without GSM preinstalled and tried (some of them managed to install it, some of then didn't) to make notifications work, but they are out of luck. There are some replacing apps for email or messages, but need testing.
Your mobile apps were working before removing bloatware? If your answer is yes, remember what you removed (if you used my guide in order to remove, you can see there the way to reinstall the apps WITHOUT Factory Reset your device) and reinstall them using ADB.
Cheers,

Will definitely do buddy. Thanks
I was thinking to do a factory reset and start fresh again but realized that the mobile banking still lets me use the mobile token only to sign payments. Reinstalling the bank app requires a bank visit in person, for them to authorize the app with a code(stupid if you ask me, should be done by phone as well).

BTW if I install for example Evie launcher and use adb to remove huawei launcher would it work after reboot ? And if I mess things up would I fix them with factory reset ? Just don't want to brick the phone.

Awkward about the bank app (which bank is it)? Can't you do it over the internet, regardless the lockdown period we're on? Like they do it when you want to create an new acount (videocall, you ID's...)?
If you remove the default launcher, the chances to get errors are pretty big . And YES, if you mess up things on it, you can Factory Reset the device and all is back, like when you unboxed your phone.

All,
I thought Samsung said at their unpacked event that they were moving to native Google messages. Mine looks like it is the Samsung messaging app Version 12.1.01.25. Anyone has any nsight on this? I have the s21 ultra 512GB directly from Samsung using T-mo.
A little research -- https://9to5google.com/2021/01/15/galaxy-s21-google-messages-pre-installed/
Not installed in the US... Why?
It was always only for non-US phones, US phones got stuck with Samsung Messages. We will have to wait for someone to upload the APK so that we can sideload it.
And for anyone wondering the Google Messages version in the Play Store is different and doesn't offer the integrated features that come with the Samsung version of it.
I wish they would stick to one of the two apps, not both. My 21 came with both preloaded and it's getting pretty ridiculous. There's pretty much double apps everywhere now, even a secondary keyboard by Microsoft! And I can't even uninstall them!
I am using the google messages for s20 ultra. I downloaded from the play store just fine

EMEA Version came with Samsung Messages.
Installed Google Messages and have chat features in it.
Yeah, it's weird. Just got my s21. Text messages that are being reply to me were still going to my old phone that didn't even have a sim card. Searched and found that Chat features needed to be turned off on the old phone...didn't work either until I just uninstalled the app. Now chat features are not available on the s21. Says to call carrier. Figure it's a network issue holding onto my old device info and not releasing to my new? Maybe it just takes some time.
[Didn't know that Samsung is supposed to have a messaging app that integrated with googles.]

Thank you! How hard would it be for the Google Messages app to direct users to download the Carrier Service when they try to enable Chat features but are denied. Chat set up immediately after installing Carrier Service.
Edit: I'm on T-mobile with the T-mobile S21 Ultra.
I just removed google messaging app from mine, through ADB.
I was like.. what?? Why are there 2 apps with the same name "messages" in my drawer?
anyway, got rid of it
I have the Verizon version of the ultra and there were no issues with getting Google Messages to work with the chat features. All I did was download and install the app. I also made it my dark messaging app in Settings > Apps > Default apps.
I use T-mobile and and have the s21 ultra unlocked on Tmobile, and I use the google messages and chat features work perfectly fine.
On Tmobile 512 unlocked.
If I want RCS with call and text on other devices .(Play store version, of Google messages does not support Samsung text and call on other devices) I had to go on "U" firmware with TMO carrier services and stick with Samsung messages.
I tried installing Google " NATIVE"messaging for Samsung. That apk that was posted in another thread and it would not install.
Also it does not seem that continue app on other devices is working either .
My tab s7+ and S21 ULTRA are both on 3.1 and they have the options enabled ,but no
Worky.
Honestly I prefer the Samsung messages app because it gives an audible notification when you're on a phone call. The Google messages app doesn't. It sucks to be on a call and not know a text message came in. If Google messages would add that simple feature it would be just about perfect.
Question for those that have the Google Messages prebaked in, can one of you upload it for us to use? If I'm not mistaken that is the one that is specifically developed to be themed alongside One Ui. Thanks in advance!

If it is in fact working on T-Mobile firmware, then flash the T-Mobile firmware.
IIRC (could be wrong) Samsung said that their Messaging app won't support RCS... But if that's the case, then you can blame Samsung for not including it at all lol. But back when I had a Note 20 Ultra, Samsung said the same thing, however, there was this quick little setup that let you use RCS with Samsung messages.
It started with the installation of Google Messages and activation of RCS. But I just can't remember the following steps... Just search for what I mentioned on XDA and you'll probably find the post. But either way, after testing it out and having it work, I switched back to Google Messages anyways as it had a much better interface and better features for a techy/nerdy person like myself =)

Yeah, thanks for the update. I just looked into it and the IMS command via Google Phone was removed in Android 11 - hence why this doesn't work anymore =(. What a let down.
I figured out that if you flash the U firmware on the U1 phone and use the HOME_CSC, it'll give you the updated Samsung Messages with chat settings.
Google Messages is getting a makeover on Samsung phones. Is your phone eligible?
The Google Message app is getting a One UI-inspired makeover on Samsung phones making one handed use easier.
www.androidauthority.com
It's part of their closer partnership with Google that spawned the Galaxy Watch4. They're basically slowly abandoning Samsung Messages (and probably the rest of their own stuff eventually) and working more closely with Google to make OneUI-matching versions of the Google app suite. Why spend time developing their own tools when Google will do the work for them, I guess.
You need to download the app Carrier Services and also Google Chat.
You're gonna have a prompt asking for your number on Messages.
Then you can Uninstall Google Chat.
