The selfie camera on my Exynos variant is lacking. Daytime performance seems fine. But nighttime is when it gets blurry and dark. I compared it to my friends' other flagships and even a mid-range Samsung. The night mode does wonders but i expected more from the standard mode.
I love the phone so far, but the selfie camera sucks, quite frankly. It's probably partially due to Samsung's affinity to overdo everything, but it blows out almost every single picture, especially if there's a light somewhere behind you even if pointed away. It's possible to get some decent shots after turning off all of the stupid face smoothing and processing garbage, but lighting remains an issue for this camera. Hoping to test it more and turn up the warmness filter to see if that helps much. I hope to see a Gcam port for it.

I am not a teenage girl but I use the front camera fairly often because I use the app 1SecondEveryday to capture 1 second of my life each day and often the best way to do that is a 'selfie', especially if I'm on my own somewhere.
Previously I had a Z3 which was a great rear camera but the front one was pretty terrible. If I was taking a selfie with mates in the pub it was always too dark and grainy. The Z5 front camera is much improved. Not great but 'good enough' for my uses.

The stock camera app is great, it makes beautiful pictures.
The thing i noticed which is really really bad is using the camera of other apps like snapchat, instagram, facebook. The color calibration or correction does something weird. It makes my pictures look very odd and not detailed in any way.

I get great photos hands down every time, from the BACK CAMERA. The front camera is a disaster though, maybe future updates will fix this
I own a Oppo, and i confess that im not very impressed with the photos of Mi Note 3, specially at night, even with Google Camera installed...
The software needs to be polished....the potencial is there!
Compared with redmi 3 pro, the photo are very impressive on day light

One of the few phones with an 8mp camera on the front, most phones I've seen use only 2 - 5mp of front camera.
It has a focus feature, not autofocus but just focus you have to click the screen everytime.
It does give clear shots when you are in focus, lenovo did well on the face beautying feature. It really removes wrinkles and blemishes.
Certainly not the best but it is very usable.
PS. There are no stickers or modes on the Lenovo Camera software for selfies.
