Planning to buy a second battery for the HD2.
Certainly would be convenient to be able to charge the spare battery externally, and have it ready for use.
Anyone know of an external battery charger that is available? Anyone here actually tried one, and could tell us if it works well or not?
I see one on Ebay-
http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-AC-WALL...CH-HD2-T8585-/290466531133?pt=PDA_Accessories
Don't know if it is any good though.
Also, not sure if it is really for the HD2 battery. The ad says it is for the "HTC TOUCH HD2 T8585".
Is the HD2 ever called "Touch HD2"? Or do they have it confused with the Touch Pro? What is that number T8585?
Farther down I thought I recall it said something like "for Sprint HD2", although I don't see that now. Sprint doesn't have the HD2, does it?
Even at a cheap price like that, it would be kind of a drag to buy that, and it doesn't fit the HD2 battery at all, then you have to pay for return shipping. (At least it is shipped from the USA, unusual for that kind of thing.)
Anyone here tried one of these, or another one? It would certainly add to the convenience, if one has an extra battery, to be able to charge one externally? (This one says it can charge two, but I don't see how from the pic.)
I just bought a spare battery from this place.
http://www.obostore.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_45&products_id=189
I bought one and it cooks my batteries. We should start a thread dedicated to finding after market and OEM batteries online. I purchased several batteries from ebay vendors and IMMEDIATELY tested them using a Triton (RC Hobby Computer chargers) it is sophisticated and charges to max recommended voltage then MEASURES the wattage during a fixed drain cycle. I sent up the drain cycle assuming a 5 hour talk time. (MAH of batteries / 5). EBAY batteries consistently only gave 750-850 mah although they claimed over 1000. One seller (I tested 2 batteries) only had 450 and 465 mah.
I purchased cradle chargers, "OEM" Car chargers, as well as wall chargers. The bottom line is that Chinese produced items are prey to the lowest price regime that is the nature of the Chinese market. Quality is non existent, just the lowest price for an item that resembles a quality product.
Stick with verizon, sprint etc chargers that are proven and tested. That was the best solution for me. I tried to purchase an "OEM" HTC [email protected] charger ebay. It had a poor replica of an HTC logo and it also seems to overcharge and cook my batteries.
Anyone else have any experience or opinions?
Now you got me scared about buying one of the battery chargers.
By the way though, just about everything we buy here (certainly electronics) is made in China. But yes, if it is non brand name, or fake brand name, it might not (or might) have the same quality. (And if shipped from China, not worth returning if it is a dud.)
You say "stick with Verizon and Sprint chargers". Well, the HD2 is not sold by Sprint and Verizon. Are you saying they put out a charger for one of their phones, that uses the exact same batteries? Link to those chargers? Thanks.

Thank you, but just telling us where you bought your battery and charger don't tell us much, without a review of them.
I also posted a link to a charger in the OP, and asked if anyone has tried it, and knows if it is any good.
The previous poster wrote that the no-name chargers can damage the batteries. I don't know if he or she is correct or not, but it scared me about buying one. The battery and charger you linked to are no-name. Have you tested them, the way the previous poster did?
Also, the products you linked to seem very expensive, but I don't know the relationship of Hong Kong dollars to US dollars. Anyone know?
Well, I just bought the one I mentioned in the second post, from Ebay.
At $5.99, free shipping, ships from the USA, I figure not much to lose.
I guess I'll be nervous whether the poster is correct about generic chargers "cooking" batteries. I don't know how I would know, if the charger is damaging to batteries or not. Would they be too hot after charging?
By the way, for those interested in a "cradle" for the HD2, which also has a space for charging an extra battery, I saw one on Amazon, about $20. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1FZ013TFV210J7ZAEDS6
(I have no need for a cradle though, and prefer the small charger only design.

lol.. i am using the charger and battery as we speak... and its not some no-name charger and battery.. the brand is MOMAX.. they have a website momax.net which shows their items.. the battery is fit for use for HD2 original battery and the momax battery, which is why i bought it.. the charger has got 2 charging points, direct to hd2 like the normal charger, and external battery charging function, which is what i liked about it.. no need to switch between 2 chargers, 1 stop solution for the battery in my phone and the other spare battery, whether is it the original battery or their momax battery.
Well, having a name one never heard of like "Momax", doesn't mean the product is not "no name". By the latter I did not mean no name at all, but not a recognized brand name.
Not saying that all products without a recognized brand name are no good (I ended up ordering one, in fact), just that one is taking a chance. (And I think I would have taken just as much of a chance with "Momax" as with the one I ordered.) Besides, the one I ordered was shipped from the USA, much better for returns, quick shipping, etc., than something ordered from Hong Kong.
By the way, do you work for that company "Momax"?

Where did you get yours from? I ordered one off of Ebay for 5 bucks. Got it 3 weeks later and it worked for one charge, then died. I emailed them and they agreed to send me another one without question, but it's going to be another 3 weeks until I see it.
lol.. of course not rofl..
im from Singapore, not Hong Kong.. and besides, shipping from Hong Kong to where i live is cheaper than from europe and the states, not to mention currency conversion..
I really wish there was a cradle charger that worked with the Otterbox cases!

nope, not me..
I have the charger pictured in the 2nd post here, ive had it for over 2 months charging batteries in it daily and have had no problems with the charger or batteries.
The seller i bought it from was US based and they also shipped 2 additional batteries with it, so i now rotate my batteries. I have one in the phone, a spare that i carry in my wallet, and one in the charger at all times. When the phone battery dies it goes into the charger, the charged one goes to my wallet ,and the one in my wallet goes to the phone.
I started doing this ever since I had to return by HD2 due to a damaged USB port causing it to go into car kit mode. I think i have only used this new HD2's USB port twice for charging since i got it. I prefer to just swap the batteries.
This works out great because i never have to worry about carrying around a charger and finding a place to stop for awhile to charge up a bit
It does however seem the charger is incapable of charging a battery and phone via the usb port simultaneously. If i put a dead battery in it the charge light will light up red to indicate it is charging, as soon as i plug something into the usb port the light will go blue to indicate charging is done. Im guessing the internal power supply isnt beefy enough to simultaneously charge both
Just bought the same charger listed in the 2nd post. Seller informed me of delayed USPS pickup due to the snow storm in NY area
Oh well for $5 if it doesn't work as expected it won't hurt my wallet.
charger arrived last night, tested with the stock battery. Charged to full in 3 hours, so far so good.
Only complaint: the charger is slight narrower compared to the battery, so about 1/8 inch of the battery is sticking out during the charging process. It does look cheap but gets the job done. Besides, it's only $5.
Now I just swap batteries (I bought an extra battery elsewhere) and don't have to use the USB port to charge anymore, woohoo!
going to buy this charger from ebay..will review it later when it comes

Busted USB port here, about 6 months ago, bought the same charger and a spare battery, and it hasn't failed me yet. The battery does stick out the one side a bit, but it works. Only problem I ever had was the one time I let my gf switch my batteries in it and she bent one of the charger's contact pins. I bent it back, and it's worked well since.
I actually prefer battery swapping now over charging.
I have two spare batteries and was wondering if there is some sort of device that someone came across that can recommend for me to buy. charging each battery by putting it into the phone would be too much of a hassle. Any suggestions?

how about this one ?
http://www.streaksmart.com/2011/04/...y-charger-available-now-for-less-than-5.html:)
I use this charger:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2x-1600mAh-Batt...316345?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e62e6deb9
Works very well (e.g. charges the battery before the next battery runs out, unlike some of the other ones available)
For $12 plus you get some more batteries, good deal.
There are many other auctions with the charger, varying in price and the number of batteries you get.
But the charger is good.

Anyone bought this? I did and it works lovely but when the phone is on the dock you cannot really use it. Everytime u touch the screen it goes haywire. Anyone else or is mine faulty?
I was wondering when replacement batteries and battery chargers for the g4 will be available because I won't be able to get the phone until after the free promotion and want to have a spare battery always on hand.
If you have any idea that would help me a lot! Thank you in advanced
Update: I just search on Amazon, I find three sellers sell the LG G4 replacement battery except OEM : Trendon, iVoler, Hyperion, and I also notice iVoler has a promotion about the battery by accident, save $5.00 on Battery or Battery & Battery Charger , so I want to try it, I use the code " 2CK9NFN7" to order a battery and a charger, it takes me just $ 15.99, it's much cheaper than OEM and another sellers, it's a great deal,I share with someone guys want it.

There are actually several options on Amazon now. http://www.amazon.com/LG-G4-Battery...&qid=1436673751&sr=8-5&keywords=lg+g4+battery
Or you could just buy the OEM battery and cradle on eBay. Warning though, a lot of the sellers are selling them for $50+, so it all depends on how much you would want to spend.

Idea
I have been thinking about purchasing 2 extra batteries (bundled with an intelligent battery charger, on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111714300303?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT) in conjunction with the promo extra battery + battery cradle bundle I have on the way. I'd have a total of 4 batteries. I'd love to stop charging my phone itself altogether and save on wear and tear on my G4's microUSB port. What do you guys think? Good idea or not? The bundle off eBay would only run me $18.89.
UPDATE: It was a great idea! I never leave the house without a spare battery, and only plug my phone in when I'm in the car because I use it for music.
Invalid battery message
I bought the TrendON battery on Amazon but got an invalid battery message just after the phone booted. When I plugged the phone into the charger without the phone booted, I got another error message about an invalid battery.
Anyone else have problems with aftermarket batteries in the G4?
Update: I just tried the other battery (the package came with two spares and a wall charger) and it worked fine. So I guess the first battery is bad; the phone handles the other aftermarket battery fine.
I purchased Trendon on Amazon. Two batteries and a charger.
I tried 1 battery in the phone for a few charges. I left the other battery sealed.
I didn't feel like the Trendon battery lasted as long as the OEM battery. I wasn't going to spend hours investigating the issue or the other Trendon battery.
I found a Samsung OEM LG G4 battery on ebay and ordered it for $6 less than the Trendon package, although it was for one OEM battery only, which is all I needed. There were many sellers, but with experience, you can choose the seller you think has the best product. Not 100%, but you can reduce your risks. I only needed one spare, as I've carried for years with all my phones.
I returned the Trendon package, received the OEM battery which worked equal to the battery which came with the G4. After messaging with the seller, I was able to choose the date of manufacturer of the 2 dates available for the battery I wanted.
This is not to say that Trendon doesn't make a good product, but in my experience, I try to go with a spare OEM.
Don't buy Trendon!
I bought the Trendon two pack. Charged them both. Put one in the phone, closed the back and saw a puff of smoke roll out. Ripped the back off to find a hole melted at the corner of the battery and melted plastic on the back cover/SIM card. I think I'll be sending them back. (/sarcasm) Didn't bother to try the other one.

Well that's a little scary! I also bought the TrendOn 2 pack with charger. I've been using them for just over a week with several charges on each. So far haven't had any problems. One thing I noticed is that battery and BMS? temp are always locked at 23.5°C and 23°C when using the TrendOn batteries. Where the LG will fluctuate with usage. Right now BMS is showing 39°C and batt is showing 36°C (while plugged in/charging).
The benefit of that is my phone seems? to charge faster with the cable when using the TrendOn, but this could be a bad thing and potentially damaging to the phone/battery. I pay more attention to phone temp while charging if I'm using it, such as GPS in the car. With the OEM battery I'm not worried as much.
Overall I am satisfied with the TrendOn batteries. After a few charges I feel they last as long, if not longer, than the OEM battery that came with the phone. I bought my phone used so I'm unsure how much usage the original battery had.

There are dozens of different reasons why someone might not be getting the best experience from their phone's battery but here are six things that can be quickly done to help extend the G4's battery life. and before do this you can check this link kindly

I've been using the MPJ 3000mah battery and have done an extensive review. You can find the review here:

I don't know what you mean. Check here and select BM4E.
Fixed 4 phones with those so far.
One of those phones (OnePLus 8) crapped out after a year. Turns out nohon batteries are *not* taking fast charging well. For slow charging phones (15/22W), they seem ok so far.
Expect 5-10% worse capacity than original battery. Which is a pretty good number as far as aftermarket batteries go.

I got the battery sealed few months ago around April or May, but I installed it just recently at Friday to my device. I cannot give that info but they have 6months warranty and I am pretty sure will last more than 1 year.
At this point I think it's your best choice tbh.

November 2021 I think. The phones (iPhone 8, Samsung S9, Redmi 8 Note Pro) seem to run all fine, perhaps the batteries are aging slightly faster, but I expect em to last at least 1-2 years or so more.
That 1+8 which just crapped out fairly recently - battery swelled and started losing capacity rapidly and eventually refused to charge completely. All in span of a month after a year of running ok.
The owner of that phone was using its warp charging (0% to 50% under 30 minutes, daily) pretty heavily, which is what ruined the original battery in the first place (that one had around 70% after <2 years).
Okay thank you,,seems it's best option available now
Anyone know how i can get it from Germany ? AliExpress say it's not available to your country
I've been using a Nohon Battery in my Poco F1 since last April. Currently it is at about 80/81% capacity. I don't know if it's within the average wear range, but I thought it was a little fast, I don't know. Fast charge works great, battery life has been better, I've been changing ROMs lately, but I think it's standard. I bought it through Alliexpress and I received it here in Brazil in a month + or -
What I really wanted was to buy an original from Xiaomi, but here in Brazil they simply don't sell it. I've already read someone here saying that in India they sell the original, but unfortunately there's no way to import it here to my country. If anyone knows how I can get an original nateria, I'd appreciate it. But Nohon has served me very well.

The original battery in my case lost 10% capacity every 10 months, down to 80% by the 20 month mark (little over 600 battery cycles ) and further reduced to 65% in 30 months. Would have been higher but for bypass charging which I figured out how to enable just after 20 months. The new official battery is down to 92% after 8 months despite bypass charging being enabled from the very beginning (just 79 battery cycles ).

What would this bypass charging be? Something related to smart charging? What does not loading up to 100% consist of?

After reaching the desired battery charge level say 60% as long as the device is plugged it draws power from the AC Mains instead of the battery and the battery discharges even by 1%. This is actually the default behavior if the device is charged to 100%. Of course full charge and plugged in is not great from battery longterm health POV so root is necessary to tweak permissions of a couple of files to reduce the max. battery charging voltage which effectively caps the maximum battery charge level. No micro-cycles in contrast to Smart Charging which is anyway incompatible with bypass charging.
P.S. According to some this isn't true bypass charging whatever that means. However after replacing the battery I had used the device plugged in for most of 10 days and the battery cycle count increased by 1. Baikal OS since A12 at least included this feature OOTB. Root wasn't necessary but SELinux was Permissive. I don't know which is a greater vulnerability from security POV.

That’s our possibility…
I didn’t try it yet
One F1 user had good things to say about a third-part battery bought from eBAY UK.... I kinda regret not buying a 2nd replacement battery when they were being sold dirt cheap by Xiaomi India mid-last year. Some months later spare parts incl. the battery have been permanently discontinued.
Hello,
i replaced the battery of my Mi 11 with a original replacement battery and measured the capacity of the new one with a USB meter but the phone doesnt charge even close to the 4600mah. It charges up to 3800mah like the old battery. Does the system limit the charge because it "doesnt know" that there is a new battery? I already hard reseted the phone and also tried different custom roms but it didnt help, I am on xiaomi.eu rom currently.
If you have any idea, ill be glad to hear it.
Thank you!
Prolly the replacement battery isn't original at all. I replaced mine bought from dragon-tt and capacity is 4450mAh. That's how it looks like:

I need a new battery too, does this one charge at the same speed as the original?
I bought one which turned out to be fake but not only was the battery capacity only about 3800mAh, it also charged really slow.

Yes. As you can see it's original new battery. Charging and capacity is works as the factory battery which came with the phone originally. Bought from dragon-tt.com around 20$. Definitely worth the money!

I see. You are probably right, I bought the battery from aliexpress and I just checked the reviews again and there a few people complaining about the same issue.
Thank you for the reply!
