Personally, Android 10 feels like just another phone with 5000mah battery or something! But on android 9, that 6000mah feels like a real 6000mah battery!
In short, battery is good on android 10, just not as good as android 9! The ui is a bit smooth in android 10 though!
Honestly I didn't notice the difference lasts me the same maybe we use different apps or something but smooth and perfect

If you're really worried about how much Screen On Time (SOT) you will get with Android 10, just keep checking around the forum. Consider using a custom ROM that will maximize battery: https://forum.xda-developers.com/rog-phone-2/how-to/extreme-battery-saving-tweaks-30-hours-t4114833
To the other end of it, how much do you *really* use your phone? If it only lasts 1.5 days vs 2 days, will it really impact your usage of your phone? Do you use many of the high-end gaming functions?

Hi there,
The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro has been out for a year now. Has anyone any info on an upgraded or new version?
I'm looking for a 5.7 device and really like this, but (knowing my luck), I'll order and the next week Xiaomi will release info on a new model !
Thanks
do you want my opinion wait and see for one plus 3
I think asus zenfone 3 deluxe must be the mobile what you want, im waiting for it and some revew of zf 3 deluxe, sd820, 5.7" FHD 6RAM... sound so great
I would personally go with nexus 6p over the current mi note pro. As a previous amoled user, I find it the screen to be pretty dim on my MNP.
Unless you are happy with running miui, I would stay clear from this. Another thing, I should add, phone definitely heats up when running asop and early miui roms. I do not care what other user say but having the phone on charge and trying to talk to someone whilst putting the phone next to your years gets extremely hot and uncomfortable.
I would wait for one plus or even the nexus 6
PS: I'm running mokee rom.

There is a rumor that Mi Note 2 will be released mid-July, together with the Xiaomi laptop. The latest news on it: http://mobile.it168.com/a2016/0530/2672/000002672797.shtml
The specs are supposedly: SD823 (MSM8996 Pro), 4/6 GB RAM, 32-256 GB ROM, Sony IMX378 sensor, 12 Mpx camera with laser autofocus, screen resolution and size same as the predecessor, iris recognition. Pricing is supposed to start at 3299 CNY for the cheapest version.
Mi Note Pro still a very good phone except perhaps for camera

I also have both, Mi Note Pro and Nexus 6p. Nexus 6p is a little bit faster (probably because of stock android) and has a better camera, but overall i still prefer the Mi Note pro. The 6p is thicker, heavier and bulkier and the sound quality on it (which is very important to me) is complete ****, while on the Note pro the sound is absolutely brilliant (over headphones of course, speakers are better on 6p). Screen is a little brighter on the 6p, but they`re both too dark in sunny weather for me. I also love MIUI, did even install a MIUI launcher on my 6p . I think it comes down to preferences. Both are great devices, but there`s one major downside to the Note Pro, which is the battery life.

An event is planned this month... there are rumors of a new flagship.
mipro is a good phone except the software sucks (both miui and unoficial roms). for exemple semi-official (i believe he is a miui developper) ivan aosp rom 6.0.1 is using april security patchs lol and no updates... and others roms are worst and bugged. yea i would take the 6p only because of the software part, i have bought 3 phones from xiaomi and it's the LAST TIME.
Have had note 4 for 22 months - have had to change the note 4 twice - One was cracked lcd (with a trivial fall) and second was NAND failure. Working out the math - the phone and its replacements (including the insurance excess) has cost me £650.
Its a brilliant phone, and worked flawlessly till android 6.0.1 came along and have had a note 2 - which needed replacing aswell.
Since its time for upgrade, id love to have Note 7 but at a price premium of £750 - I dont think so.
Will take a punt with OnePlus3 - Its half the price and has pretty much the same internals. For what i have been using the OnePlus3 easily trumps
So why this topic? Just to let us know you have a OnePlus 3 now?
Well congrats and bye then.

i'd suggest you getting ZTE Axon 7 for 450 EUR,
it has QHD resolution (like note 4, vs FHD @ OP3), with dolby stereo speakers (that users are raving about).
also it has QC3 charging and you'll be able to use your QC2 charger from note 4 for quickcharge.
OP3 has incompatible proprietary charging.
i'm personally still holding to Note 4, waiting for the Android 7 ROM.

nah, many users love version 5...
i decided to wait for 7.
2 months ago i had hopes that Note 7 could be a viable upgrade, but with it's insane price, list of problems, and curved screen, i'm somewhat forced to stay on Note 4, or look for other optons
(like ZTE Axon 7).
let's wait for Android 7 ROM and see how it goes.
guys ! MI5 or OnePlus 3 ?

Why not the Snapdragon S7 shown here? Price still to high?
I can get the lg g6 for 400 euro, the oneplus 5 for 462 euro and the nokia 8 for 492 euro.
Which is better value for money ?
Hello,
LG G6 I didn't have it and tested but I can tell you about OnePlus5, I ordered and used for 2 weeks and I sent back because of poor wifi and mobile signal and also I wasn't sadisfy with picture quality.
Nokia is.... Nokia. I'm happy with my choice. Nokia 8 is great, moving faster as OnePlus5 ( 2GB RAM less is almost unvisible), battery keep the same as OnePlus5, signal on mobile and wifi on Nokia is much better.
Personal I suggest you Nokia 8. I don't know why OnePlus 5 is so promoted because is not better than Lenovo, Xiaomi and other pure China company's.

And in Oneplus 5 there's jelly effect on scrolling websites. The reason why I bought Nokia 8 finally when I saw that on a friend's phone.
I pre-ordered Oneplus 5, used it about a week... Got so sick of the famous jelly effect on screen that I sent it back. Bought Nokia 8 instead, I have been pleased!
For those who already bought it, how much SoT are you getting?
Is there a BIG performance difference between SD820 and SD835?
I'm on LG V20 and planning to move.

Hi guys
I was a samsung user since s1-s8+ including note lineup too, but it bugged me down the lag & stuttering that I have seen through every one of them including S8+ so, I decided to try mate 10 pro & it delivered wt it promised great camera , battery & fantastic performance but the software is a little disappointing so, I want to ask u guys about the note9 did they figure out to make the phone non stuttery or is it just another stuttrry samsung phone ?
Last point [note 9 (8gb version)=813$ in my country/mate 20 pro 880$(6gbversion) ]
So, what would you pick & why ?
Sorry to make it such long thread.
Thx in advance
Been using the Note 9 since it's August launch. The phone doesn't really stutter and is pretty smooth overall. The camera is absolutely fantastic although the Mate 20 Pro does have a few tricks up it's sleeve that might make it a better overall shooter than the Note 9.

Thx , but what about the battery performance is consistent? & Which version of the note 9 did you use exynos or snapdragon?6 or 8 gb of ram.
Had the 20 pro and didn't like it due to the software. Now have the note 9 512gb and 5 stars so far fast never had a closed app. Battery is OK depends what you do but watching filmes for 3 hrs phone texts mail browsing and social network get about 6 to 7 SOT.

I have the Exynos with 8GB RAM/ 512 GB storage. It's not as fast as the Snapdragon but more than good enough for everything I use it for on a daily basis. I don't game much on the phone but am a heavy duty user of phone calls, emails, office applications, YouTube and WhatsApp. The phone works perfectly well. I often find myself needing to charge the phone after about 10 hours off the charger but that's probably due to my heavy screen on usage and range anxiety.

It was... A lot of people and reviewers say that the Samsung experience a clunky and laggy a to be fair was the thing I really missed. And when the new one UI comes in January one hand operation will be the best... Kudos for Samsung to try make it better... Only fast updates will be the one thing to be sorted.

Which one of them u feel more snappy & smooth performance? What about battery performance of note 9?
Hi,
I hopw my review would help someone.
I had Mate 20 Pro and I can say the pictures are awesome and that's it. Battery helds 7hrs+ SoT and that would be all the pro points.
Against would be the unconfortable design which is slimer and longer than S9+ or Note 9 (I have S9, S9+ and Note 9 and previous i had S8 and S7, S6 and S6 Edge).
Against also the EMUI software on top of Android Pie which os uncnfortable to use.
Beside this, the software update is horrible, worst than Samsung. Top device but latest update from October 1st and we are already in December?!
Customer support from Huawei is unexistent. They don't know nothing never.
I bought something from Huawei AppStore (like GalaxyApps) but i wasn't able to use due to an issue..neither support knew..speachless.
Also the Huawei firnware finder doesn't compare to Samfirm or Odin. Huawei firmware softwate is terrible than everythink you can imagine.
And i got back Mate 20 Pro and got a Note 9 512GB with 8GB RAM and works perfectly.
I get good pictures, fiability, 6hrs+ SoT, infinit themes and stability. I am pleased.

I agree with this. EMUI is horrible. Terrible experience. I was using P10 and P20. On P10 is nougat 7.0 out of the box. Huawei updated it to Oreo 8.0. They just skip 7.1.1 and 7.1.2. Plus Huawei close the door to any development after they make bootloader unlock code unavailable. The most annoying part was EMUI keep killing the background process. Sometimes notification will arrive late or u need to open back the app to receive notification. I think this is why huawei devices have good battery by killing all the background process. Well just a thought.

i can safely tell you that all the lag is FINALLY gone. the s9/note9 era fixed that issue. it always bothered me on the note8 to have that lag/stutter. between that and the tiny battery i couldn't bear it.

Now u make me want to buy it right now I just will wait for 2 weeks to finish my exams .
Thanks man .
TL;DR Samsung rocks, EMUI makes it hard to like the Huawei
I currently have the Note 9 8gb version 9601U and I have the Mate 20 Pro 8gb version. I like the Samsung better.
Both show no lag whatsoever but the Huawei has some quirks that I just can't deal with. For 8gb it shuts down apps I have running in the background that it should not. The Huawei also doesn't play well with my Android auto. I often have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work.
EMUI is just too different for me. This is the first phone in the hundreds I've owned that I installed Nova launcher. Battery life on both phones was comparable. Charging too as I didn't have the adapter for my super fast charger to plug the Mate into a US outlet.
Reverse charging was kinda cool but did not use it as often as I thought. My kids have gotten more responsible with charging their own devices. The fingerprint sensor wasn't as accurate as I'd hoped either. The slowness I expected but often times I'd have to reposition or wipe off my finger to get it to work.
The camera on the Huawei was about as awesome as you would expect. The best feature on this phone by far. I also felt it was a better looking device but that is it's only real advantage to me.
The final straw came when I noticed it would shut off my VPN in the background a couple times a day. That was absolutely unacceptable. Even with the Killswitch on, it completely shut down the VPN app so it bypassed the apps Killswitch function. No way I can deal with that.
The Samsung does everything great. If it's not the best at something, it's really close. It has very few bugs that I've noticed which is very refreshing. And all the features on the phone and in its Experience software have been great. I just wish it didn't try to force it's Samsung apps on me but that is easily disabled and ignored. Also no lag whatsoever. And its RAM is incredible. Apps that a used days ago are waiting fir me in the state I left it. It shocks me sometimes, lol.
Sorry for the long post.
Hey all, It's been a while since I was active on XDA, but I'd like some advice from Note 8 owners.
I used to buy Samsung Notes back in the day when they dropped in price a bit, but I haven't had one since the Note 4. I currently have an Umidigi F1 and I'm not super happy with it, but it was all I could afford at the time. I've been looking at mid-range phones because of my budget. So far I was looking at the Redmi Note 8 Pro and the Galaxy A50. Both have a price range around $250 on Ebay. But Amazon is selling the Note 8 renewed for the same price, and I do miss the Note (I still use my Note 3 as my bedside device). The only issue I've heard about the Note 8 is that the battery life could be better.
So what do you guys think about getting the Note 8 at this time? And how bad (or not) is the battery life? Thanks in advance.
Definitely. SD835 beats any current mid range processor. I just got one SGN8 for myself by looking for a good quality/performance in mid range phones.
Note 8 still a great device. I had the A20. For the price it was ok at $160, but trust me you will notice a difference. I would go with Note8 maybe even S9 if price is what your concerned about.

Battery will depend on your usage, I am a pretty power user, i get about 10 hrs, the good point though, is that the fast charging capability on this phone is amazing, so you can have a fast charger with you for any long travel and in less than 1 hour, you are at 100% again, with 10 more hours of battery juice.
I believe this could be a Com, If we talk about pro/con, but the Pros would overpass this Con.
No one mid-range phone can`t match Note8 build quality, screen, camera setup and pen. I have euro Exynos version and battery is worst compared to SD version but i am happy with it. Another plus is fantastic One UI.
I ordered a manufacturer refurbished Note 8 on EBay yesterday. It's already been shipped. Should have it in the next couple of days. I ordered a Spigen Tough Armor case and an Anker wireless charger. But I like to add one of those stick-on elastic wallets to my phone and have about 5 cards in there, so I'm not sure wireless charging will work. I'll try it and return it (the wireless charger) if it doesn't work.
Thanks for the advice guys.
I would honestly recommend note 4 over note 8, personally.
That depends on the device itself. If you purchase a Honor device then it maybe better than the Note 8. As the Honor View 10 is a very powerfull device.
