Can't install apps with the app. If I find an app I bought in the past it says purchased but there is no install button.
I have tried reinstalling the gear Vr Oculus app. Tried downloading it. No joy. No install button
Guys please help.
Hi
Something similar happened to me recently when I debloated my phone. I had to get back to stock.
I guess some of the needed apps are tied to Facebook, like Facebook apps installer.
Installing apps is really buggy since months. I have to go to the "Not installed" tab in the Oculus app on my phone (not in VR) and press the vertical three dots menu to start the download. Usually it will fail at 100%. Then I restart the phone and try it again. Download starts again. Wait for it to get to 100% and give it some minutes, then restart the phone again. Finally the app is installed and ready to use.

Took some effort to root but finally managed it but all is not well.
Apps keep crashing, constantly I get xxxxxx has stop only option I have is to restart as the popup keeps appearing every 5 seconds or so, Google play store works fine when you install and open it, but come out of it and it attempts to open and I get Google Play Store has stopped. Anyone else had these issues?
Right I factory reset and rooted again and same issue, Problems start once I run vending.apk it can't find a signal, I reboot and it runs fine, I enter google details all fine, then sticks on loading followed by "Facebook has stopped" a reboot "facebook has stopped" but vending this time runs fine and I get access to the market, I install Playstore it runs fine I download apps but go back into Playstore "Play store has stopped"
I notice when rooting a couple of the steps fail but in the end it says you have root, is this normal?
It is solved by installing those apps that crash again. Has happened to me before and that was my solution

Ok so this is weird as hell, and i've already called HTC about this and they provided a little bit of help.
First, this is my first official Android handset (Why the hell did I wait so long omg?) after kicking Apple to the curb, so I am still learning all the tricks and shortcuts, but I have a fairly good knowledge as to how the OS works now.
My Issue is I am unable to install 3rd party apps. I have the APK downloaded, I have the option in settings to allow 3rd party apps to install, and when I try to install it takes me to the install screen showing me what the app will have access to, and has cancel and install at the bottom. Cancel works, as well as show info, but the install button does nothing. I've tried from the download section, as well as ASTRO File Manager.
HTC Mention double checking to make sure third party app install is enabled (I can't even get to the install screen otherwise so it obviously is) and they mentioned to do a soft-restart by holding down the power button until it completely reboots.
Here is the kicker, after doing the soft-restart for the first time, I was able to install the Humble Indie Bundle Beta App. Worked perfectly fine. But now that I have downloaded the games from that App, I am back to the same issue before where I can't install the APK's and the soft-restart isn't fixing the issue.
I've goggled the crap out of this and haven't come across really anything like this, except some mention that AT&T Blocks third party apps, but it looks like that was on older HTC phones, and since I was able to install 1 third party app, I don't think that's the case. Any help would be appreciated!

If you can't install 3rd party apps, after having checked the option in settings, remove the "Google Settings" app, and then run your installs. If you are using a new install for the first time, pick Android Installer and not Verify and Install to avoid issues. Scumbag Google.
Re-install Google Settings at your own risk afterwards.

Google recently installed a new "installer" package from the store. I think it was called "verify and install". Anyway, the first time I tried to install from the Amazon store, it asked me which installer to use - Android or the new google installer. I chose the second program (always). After that my programs would not install. I had to remove that program and then the next time I made sure that I selected the default Android installer.
I don't know where the new installer came from. I didn't ask for it to be installed.
Anyway, check your apps list and see if that is installed.

Just searched all apps installed for both install and verify. There is nothing under verify, and install comes up with Certificate Installer DemoFloPackage Installer and Package Installer, all with android icon's, so they appear to be default stuff. I'll definitely keep looking though, thank you for the tip!
Edit: Your suggestion game me the idea to see if there was another installer application on the appstore that might work. I tried Easy Installer and it still just installs using the regular (or I suppose default) installer, which leads me back to the same problem =(
Do you have any apps like Lux Autobrightness or screen filter running or similar? If you do, that is your culprit. Those apps act as an overlay to your screen (that's how they adjust brightness) and as a security feature the install button is disabled when an overlay app is being used to prevent an overlay app from being able to hit the install button. It works after a reboot because the app has not yet started running.

I do have twilight installed (Like F.Lux) but it looks like stevedebi's original assessment was correct. The app is "Google Settings" attached is a screen cap of the culprit.
I unlocked my bootloader to install cynogenmod (decided against it) and when I went to re-install all the apps, the "Android Installer" and "Verify and Install" option came up, and once I saw the icon was the same as google settings, I opened it up and there was the verify options down at the bottom.

Thank you for this info! Completely forgot about this and was getting frustrated when the install button wasn't working..
I tried the whole "deleting the screen filter" app thing. It works momentarily after I "soft" reset my phone, but only for one install.
Every time, I have to reset my phone, so something else is in the way.
My phone is not rooted, if that helps at all. And it's an AT&T galaxy s2.
Anyone received this message? I can't seem to install temple run, and a whole buck of other games. I keep on getting this error message of the game not being able to install.

After trying to use my Gear VR this morning it told me to take it out again and install aps. So I did and the "Gear VR setup wizard" came up and downloaded the VR Installer and App Manager. Headset was working fine last night
After d/l it tries to install but errors out, it only says "install error".
No idea why or how to fix it, tried to reinstall it 5 times so far. It d/l each time and tells me install error every time. getting ready to reinstall all of it.
I tried to reinstall as well and I can't seem to install any other games...

OK, something is wrong. I uninstalled everything, deleted all related folders. When i put the phone into the headset it tells me to take out the phone just like it should. I take out the phone and start the install process. It gives me a list of apps its going to d/l and then starts the download. Here is when it does the same thing as before, finished d/l and tried to install for a second and comes back with an "install error". So now I'm stuck with no way to install any VR apps on my phone.
Could this be a fault on Samsung's side? Everything was working great last night.
I must ask. Are you using factory rom and snapdragon device. Maybe latest updated apps have compability problem. All my apps are up to date and no problem on my side. Using stock rom.

No, Stock phone. But I found out what happened. I froze some ATT apps on my phone. Once I unfroze all apps everything worked again. Not sure what one was the cause, I had only picked the obvious ATT bloatware apps and things like Facebook and some Google apps.
I'll have to go back and freeze one by one to see what one was the cause of preventing Oculus apps from running.
I'm using downloading games from the store option on the left of the home screen on the gear vr and I have the AT&T version of the note 4 model SM-N910A.

I had this exact same error when I was initializing gear vr on my S6. I also debloated the rom a little bit before this. It seems it's these two facebook apps that should not be debloated, thus reinstalled under the name of vr installer and appp manager. Now I'm reminded that fb required Oculus.
vr installer: com.facebook.system 1.0, /data/app/com.facebook.system~1/base.apk
app manager: com.facebook.appmanager 8.0, /data/app/com.facebook.appmanager-2/base.apk
I use my Gear VR every couple of months , but I can never update it. I have tried uninstalling all related apps and reinstalling. I have the related Facebook app manager etc in my app list and they appear to be enabled. Using s8+. Everything just spins on install or update.
Same with my problem, please help.
Unfortunately the only fix that worked for me was a factory reset.
Hi all.
My son has a Fire 7, 9th gen and we installed the Google Play store so he could get all of the apps. Months later, he went into parental controls and turned it on and when we turned them off again all of his apps now have disappeared and we cannot get them onto the home screen again.
If I go into Apps and Games in setting I can see that all of the old apps are still on the tablet but there is no way for me to launch directly from there or get them back. I have tried the force stop and deleting the cache to no avail. I have tried other launchers and nothing will work.
In fact, if I go back into the Google Store and try to download any of the apps again it will download but then say it cannot install. I know that a hard reset will help but he has one particular app that he needs the data for which is why I am trying everything I can to get access back to that one particular application.
Is there any way to do this? Or even to download the data for the app and reset the tablet then put the data file back on when it is working again?
Any ideas are appreciated. Thank you.
