I'm looking to buy used and I want to make sure the one I get is the google edition, so I can unlock the bootloader and for other reasons. They seem to all have the same model number (G020J).
Is there an easy way to tell them apart without asking every seller to enable developer settings and see if the OEM Unlocking toggle is grayed out?
GA00677-US 128gb just black
GA01180-US 64gb just black
GA01181-US 64gb white
GA01184-US 128gb white
Those are the Google versions

Any idea where to find that in the settings?
Don't think so. Only thing is settings about phone then regulatory labels but mine shows G020J

Also what carrier doesnt force you into signing up to buy a phone?
No carriers in the US will carry gold or silver colors, at least for the launch.
As far as I know the only way to get silver or gold is to order an unlocked international variant from asia @ full price.
That works for me, what site?
Since it's still before the official launch i'm not really sure. Ebay had a few when I looked the last night.
I was in an AT&T store yesterday and they said they'll have the silver one at launch.

Pretty sure you were lied to, it launches in 3 days and no one has seen a silver one that wasn't at the launch event (international version) or in asia.
It would be awesome if true, but seeing as every carrier website only lists white and black and they are available to order right now, I really doubt it is suddenly gonna be released in 3 days in silver/gold color.
Not an ebay fan but ill check it out
Does anyone know where i can purchase a unlocked deep sea blue exynos version and have it shipped to the us? This will be my first time trying to purchase a international version so im not familiar with where to look. Just really want the blue one and sucks it's not available in the us. Not reality i was doing a lot of searching for the blue one and couldn't find it anywhere so technically this it's a different question. A more specific question. I had found international versions in black and gold but not blue. But i finally found it. Pricy but i found it on ebay the 256gb Korean version in Blue on eBay. I'm going to get that one.
Whoa there fella! Check the freqs on that one, I think you may find you're going to want to skip it.

My korean note FE works fine on rogers
sent from my Note FE, S8 plus, or S6
Different animal, he needs to check freqs before ordering, some SK phones don't work well in North America. If it's good to go great, if not he isn't stuck with a spendy problem having skipped it.
This site has a list of model numbers and their supported frequencies.
Not sure how accurate it is, but it looks right.

I cant pass up the $425 off for previous note 7 owners. I will getting a US unlocked in black and will do a poor man blue for now(slick wrap or dbrand). then if they release a blue variant, I will sell my unlocked note 8 for more then what I paid for it to get the deep sea blue.

Freqs have tmobiles 2,4 and 12 bands so i shoud be good right?
In my area you'd be good.
Typical Sammy
I just don't understand why all color variants are not available in every country. It's obvious most people crave the blue, but if you live in the USA u can pick only boring black and orchrid.
Early jumpers get screwed. But he'll most throw a case on to protect the investment anyway.

You're question sounds kinda mixed up. Unlocked? Exynos? Sounds almost like a double negative. The US model is 'unlocked' or more technically specific it is only carrier unlocked. But it's still a snapdragon so thats bootloader locked by Qualcomm. But any carrier sim should work in any 'unlocked' phone. T-Mobile might put their version of Samsung's current release like their bloat and the lock it to their Network.
The exynos to my knowledge is always carrier unlocked and it's a bootloader unlockable device. Which is where the real party is.
So to answer your question.... All of the blue exynos versions are normally unlocked. They aren't 'locked' to a specific carrier really unless you buy from a specific Asian phone carrier maybe. I think they only do that crap in the North American and UK. That thread I pointed you to is where you will find a blue exynos phone when they are available. That's where people will post when they find them
My plan is to not get the Exynos, but the unlocked Canadian model (which is a Snapdragon like the US, with CDMA radios the stock firmware doesn't talk to) and flash 950U1 firmware.
I don't care about having an unlocked bootloader as much as I do a blue Note8...
Hey all, never-msrp had the black note 8 950fd for 849.99 64gb on ebay for like 1 hour before he sold out.
I'm itching for a unlocked bootloader and pixel 2 xl 128gb after taxes is over 1k! no sense in justifying that.
So i'm returning my t-mo note 8 when i buy the unlocked exynos ones, but i don't know who are trusted sources on ebay or elsewhere for this. Since never msrp is sold out and he has no idea when he's getting more can y'all source me to where to go?

with clove, conversion and shipping it's 1190 and change...
Amazon has it for 909$
BH photo has it for 979
So my ultimate question would be, any benefit from purchasing it from bh photo video vs amazon?
All other ebay sellers don't come close to amazon or never-msrp pricing as of right now..
wait it's 947 on clove , (exclusion of VAT) , so here's the thing this popped up when i began filling out order
"Samsung’s region lock stops use of this handset within your chosen country unless activated with a European SIM. I agree for Clove Technology to break the seal on the box, activate the phone and remove the region lock by completing a 5 minute call on the handset."
found that interesting-
Does clove offer warranty of some sort?

Yeah the UK phones have regional lock. They'll activate it by the method listed. If you decline, you won't be able to make calls outside the countries listed for the phone.
I got mine from Clove and couldn't be happier. They break the seal & unlock it but I couldn't tell except for seeing the broken seal. They reset it so setup is exactly like with a new phone, I couldn't even fine a single fingerprint or smudge on it. I upgraded to DHL shipping, was shipped on a Friday, I received it on Monday.
With all the crap going on with OEM unlock missing/disappear, lowest price was not a concern for me. And really I didn't pay very much more than if I were to get a SD version from my carrier or Samsung.
@force70

He has a N950N on Tmobile. He's still working on the mod for the N firmware. The second link is his TMO mod for F variants. You can however flash the F firmware on your N & install the mod if you don't want to wait. He's been working hard at it & I'm sure he'll figure it out soon. I flashed his mod on my N950F & it's working great.

Hey guys,
I noticed the Samsung website doesn't show the silver note 9 as an option for AT&T, and chat support says it's only available in the unlocked version. But....Best Buy apparently carries it in silver, for AT&T. What gives?
I'm waiting to order the black one, I have the blue version still unopened in a box, it arrived finally after being on backorder.

I'm thinking abut upgrading my wife's G5 plus and found this item:
https://m.aliexpress.com/item/4000114833594.html?spm=a2g0n.shopcart-amp.item.4000114833594&
I'm tyring to understand if this a real moto.
1) The price of this item looks too good to be true.
2) In GGMarena I only see 64Gb for the G7 plus ansld this one listed as 128Gb.
The seller told me that this is CN model with global ROM.
Will I be able to unlock the bootloader and flash custom roms?
Any ideas about this?
Looks fake to me tbh

Check on motorola website if it exists.
I did found some info on the issue:
The 128Gb is a real version in china:
https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/04/...us-with-4-6gb-ram-and-128gb-storage-in-china/
I had a strange talk with a chine representative over WeChat and he told me that not google apps run in that phone.
and also gave me a site from Motorola that should allow to unlock it's bootloader:
https://www.zui.com/iunlock
But I have no idea if the hardware is the same as the normal G7 plus so not sure if a custom ROM will not brick it...
If it is running the international ruu then it would have Google play store preinstalled.......
