How do I set my Google Camera as my default one on my Pixel 4XL via this app? Even after doing so (at least I thought I did) I still get the pop-up asking me whether I want to launch Snapchat or the Google Camera.
You need to set g cam as your default camera

Sorry I apologise, I thought it would open the default camera but I just tried and it always makes you choose from the installed camera apps you have. You could just use the open app option instead of the camera and choose the app(camera app) you want to open.

The free "focal" app in the play store has photosphere feature
in the play store, download the free app "focal" by "team BBQ." it was the camera app that was going to be in CyanogenMod. still in beta but it does do photosphere. here is the link to google play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.xplod.focal
Did you guys have any problems with any "failed to connect to camera" errors after using/install the photosphere camera?
How well does this work? I mean, the stitching improved a lot in 4.4 on my nexus 4 but I was planning on buying the moto x to replace, I really like it but I don't want to lose photosphere.

anotherdroid from previous page provides a free download of the android camera/gallery. it works flawlessly...of course it also means you have two camera apps. i normally "twist" to open the moto x camera and the android camera on homescreen.

Anyone know if this version also does the Geotagging required to submit the photo sphere to create your own street view as Google has started allowing:

Looks like it. I did a test photosphere with the nexus gallery camera posted on the first page and uploaded it to G+. It is viewable there and if I click the details it looks to have all of the normal geolocation tags.
I'll try to do a real test this weekend.

Hrm so oddly, the images I upload to G+ with Nexus app are not viable on G+ in chrome on my PC. The Android G+ app views them OK. I wonder what is happening there.
Working like a champ on my KK Moto X. It does drop the resolution to 5MP but the shutter lag is significantly lower with this camera - which is why I wanted it. Thanks for the APK!
works great, but one issue
the app works great on my at&t moto x, however, i cannot upload the photosphere to google maps. when i click share to maps, it takes me to the app maps, instead of uploading. anyone experienced that too? (share to g+ or g+ photos works fine)
Does anybody know if it's possible to add manual exposure to the stock camera like iPhones and the new Google Camera app?

I don't believe manual exposure works for us in the Google Camera because we don't have it in the stock app. If that is the reason, we'd likely have to have root to enable that feature as camera tweaks are located in /system/etc/media_profiles.xml
*edit - those were resolution tweaks from my recollection. Actual camera options my be restricted to another location, still within the /system directory.
Hi all,
Proud owner of OPO here and I am trying to find a camera app that supports this. Any help?
Thanks guys!
Does that take several pictures then combine them into one picture, like a multi-exposure shot from a film camera? If so, that would be neat. Unfortunately I have not heard of a camera app that will do it, but I would be interested in finding one too.

Well, if you burstshoot a sequence like the one above, and then have autobackup and AutoAwesome turned on in Google+, then it'll be done for you by G+

This one has the sequence mode you are looking for. It's called A Better Camera and it is in the play store.

Thank you! I've tried it already but the sequence mode is really, really slow.
You know you can adjust that in the settings so that it takes about 8 frames in less than a second right?

I think the camera need direct access to the hardware for this to work fast enough. Android camera api isn't really fast enough. This will come with L were all third party will have the access that the oem has created for them self today.

Not a fan of the MotoX camera, would prefer to use Google Camera. But love love love the quick capture setting.
Any way to change the camera app AND keep quick capture?

There's an xposed module but I don't believe it works with the latest moto camera update and isn't being updated any longer.

I've been using the stock camera app, but have wondered if I'm missing something better.. I'm not a serious or good photographer by any means. Mainly looking for something simple, that allows save to SD that will take good pictures

I use the Moto camera app that was stock on the phone. 2 reasons, first, if I want to take great pictures I use my dslr not a phone. Second, I love the twist of the wrist to start it. Usually if I am using my phone to photograph it is because a quick something is happening or about to happen and I can twist my wrist as I bring it up to my face level and the camera app is open and ready to use. Just my 2 cents.

Exactly, I have the same feelings about moto camera. Also you can record video very quickly (no need to change mode like in other apps). Slow motion video is quite fun too. The only thing that I hate is that it doesn't have built in gallery like for example google cam which leads to delays and bugs.
I'm using HTC Camera and it works well.
Snapdragon camera, which I'm really liking.
I'm using Moto camera but the newer version (camera1) ported from Moto G which adds in a better UI and some manual controls
For pics I use the Google Camera with the HDR+ enabled, it takes great shots when there's a lot of light, Moto camera it's ok, but I rather use Google's. I'm also using Footej (haven't used it that much but so far so good!).
Since I'm rooted I have Xposed, whith the Twisty module I can enable the wrist twist to open any of the cameras I want as default.
For my use of a camera and I have tried many, I really like Open Camera from the Play Store. It offers some of the best options and features without getting all gimmicky.
Using two camera apps, Camera1 from the play store (Motorola's New Camera) for taking pictures and Open Camera for video recording
I have been using "DSLR Camera" from the store for about the last two years. Does everything I want with no fuss.

But don't think it would suit as a system app because there are way to many features
I prefer SnapDragon Camera. I believe you must have a caf kernel in order for it to work correctly.
