Hello!
I'm using my Redmi 4X with a motorcycle BT intercom. It has a button for Google Assistant which works for a few times and then the phone stops listening through the microphone. I push the button, Google Assistant pops up, but it looks like it doesn't hear anything I'm trying to say. Is there anything in the options I should change? I already turned off "BT recording". Maybe it's my ROM? I'm on LOS16 (official).

Hi there,
I have a problem with my headset. I can only end a call with it. I am not able to answer the call nor play/pause function.
running *#*#6484#*#* the phone failed to correctly recognize pressing of the buttons with my headset. I correctly play music after pressing it once, but there is no way to pause the music, playing the music works only in this test menu, outside of that there is no action after pressing the button.
I am using Galaxy S with default one-button headset provided by Samsung.
All apps to control headset like droid headset cant recognize that my headset is connected.
Can it be fixed some how?
best

bump, same issue, also described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16802117#post16802117
I've got a minor voice search issue. I'm using speaktoit's assitant app, which is very helpful at times. Before I updated my ROM (insertcoin for HTC One) everything worked perfectly, but since the update, the behavior of two things are not how I like and I cant figure out how to fix them.
1. Pressing the home button and dragging up launches my assistant app. I want to disable that entirely. it already launches on home button long-press
2. When I speak, the voice search box shows that its listening to my voice, but when I stop talking, it keeps listening for a good 10 seconds before it actually passes off to the assistant. It used to be near instant, but now its as if it can no longer detect when i've stopped talking. Now I have to hit the mic button to stop it.
of course, these aren't critical, just minor, slightly annoying behaviors I'd like to iron out, and I can't find the info on google, so I'm asking the experts.
Sorry if I posted in the wrong area, I don't see a Q&A section for AA.
I purchased a Satechi bluetooth "Home" button on amazon, and I downloaded a bluetooth mapping app, so when Im just holding my phone normally, i can tap this bluetooth button twice, and it would activate "Ok Google" for me. I want to be able to do this while the phone is plugged into my headunit and AA is running. but when AA is running and I double tap the button, nothing happens. Anyone have any ideas on how to make this work? I'd rather have a small bluetooth button easily accessible, then taking my eyes off the road to look to tap the small microphone on the headunit screen to activate Google Now.
Thanks!
Did anyone find a solution to this issue? I'm looking for the same thing.
Hi there,
Not sure if my phone is a dud - has anyone experienced the V40's boombox speaker suddenly not working or else very quiet? I've tried to adjust the volume controls, but it either seems normal, or else it even seems like it's in a call (it says "call volume" when adjusting the volume rocker switches sometimes, even though I'm not in a call). The volume sliders are all full. The only cure is a reboot. But you can still hear screen taps and things too. It's sort of like a media playback issue, and it happens in other apps as well - like Youtube, WhatsApp, etc. It's not going to Bluetooth either...
I have done a factory reset and the problem crept back right away.
Thanks for any help.
Thx

I am facing a similar issue with "call volume" showing up when headset is connected (even though am not on a call); This specifically happens if my V40 has been previously connected to a Bluetooth device which has a mic, and then has been disconnected from it. I have to restart my V40 everytime this happens as otherwise the audio is really inconsistent (it sounds cracked at lower volume, and tinny at higher volume).
When you say "the problem crept back right away", is it after some particular action (for instance connecting to some BT speaker or something?);
Also, did you try running it in safe mode (hold power button, press the "power off" icon in the screen, it should show an option to re-boot to safe mode), for me, it works on safe mode but the problem comes back even after a factory reset when i am in the normal screen.

Hi there, yeah, I can't exactly pinpoint when the problem crept back after the reset. I had been using Google Maps but I can't imagine how that would affect audio. The next time I used Google Maps, I couldn't here the navigation cues, and then I checked Youtube and "behold!"...the sound had got cut out again. Had to reboot. Would the phone be routing audio to some bluetooth channel or something, like my Samsung Gear S3? Why it would, I don't know. I do remember seeing the "in call" display once when this was happening which clearly is a different bug and not bluetooth related. I did try to connect to a bluetooth device, and then disconnect, and the problem has not resurfaced yet but I feel that I don't have much confidence in it at the moment.
I'll look into Safe mode; thx for the tip.

I know this has happened to me as well but I know what is causing it on my phone. Whenever taking a video call in Facebook messenger then my phone stays locked in the call volume also. Only way I have found is to restart the phone also. I am not using Bluetooth at all for the call either just the phone speaker so it's not a Bluetooth issue on my end. Having to restart the phone definitely sucks.

Well i found one more case - when doing a FTP through WiFi from PC (to transfer files); once FTP connection is closed (after transferring), and then if the earphones are plugged-in, phone says "call volume". Had to again restart. I was trying to find any app that can just refresh the UI/settings/system without doing a restart every time but haven't been successful. LG definitely need to fix it.
Thx for the replies, I have no clue as to why this problem is happening, but I've traded my phone for a new one in the 10-day purchase period and so far it is working correctly. Fingers crossed.
So here's a wierd one. Have a SM-N960U1 on Android 9. Everything's been fine but as of last Friday every time it pairs with a Bluetooth device (headphones, car, etc.) it starts calling itself? I re-paired all devices, turned BT off and back on, restarted phone, etc., but this behavior persists. Music is also terrible during this time, but realized by accident when I press Device Care widget to optimize phone the BT device announces 'Call Ending', and music again sounds great. However there's no record of any outgoing call in Phone App. I didn't realize what # was being called until I got in my car and saw it was dialing itself, but again, this phantom call does not show up in Recent Calls history? Any ideas?
I have had the same issue for the last week. Have tried everything to fix it, but nothing has worked. I am hoping someone out there can come up with a solution.
