Does factory reset delete all photos? - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Factory Reset from settings.
That says when doing it but I'm not sure if it is, could someone who has done it answer me?

It erases everything. Not only your photos.

The devil is in the details - factory reset, like as in fresh out of the factory...
If you have an sd card transfer everything you want on to that and it won't erase the sd card, unless you then format the sd card...

Only if they are stored in internal storage if they are all on sd card Factory reset doesn't affect them. Transfer all photos to SD and download smartswitch app and make a backup store it on sd as well then do your reset and voila!

Completely wiping internal SD and starting afresh?

I searched but couldn't find an answer.
When I did "wipe data/cache" through Recovery, I thought that it would format the internal SD, but it doesn't.
Rather than me just deleting everything in the SD from Windows, is there any other automated way?
Thanks.
I think you could just unmount the internal sd and format it from the phone settings before flashing...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Remember this will remove everything from the phone, all aps, data, system settings etc.
I would format the internal SD memory through the Settings > SD card and phone storage > Unmount Internal SD Card and then format SD Card.
Turn off the phone.
Remove the SIM and External SD card then flash with a new firmware. Ensure you click repartition.
After flash, format again the internal memory if you wish.
Switch off and insert your SIM then start again. Enter your google account details to enable the Market again then download the aps.
Wish you luck with it.

So this will work right?
Your last sentence has made me a bit uneasy.
Yes it will work.
If you don't wish to flash the firmware just do the format of the internal SD memory as previously described.

So just to expand on this a little...
my phone has been ****ty lately, loading programs slowly, even when there's only one program running, music playback freezes, etc.
i'm thinking of formatting it and starting over, is this a good thing? How can i back up my contacts before formatting?
****
this is not a good thing
if you choose to copy your contacts, the phone only ****ing copies some google contacts bull****. so it copied all the email addresses i already have, but didn't copy a single ****ing phone #.
now i have to fiddle with the stupid thing to get all my settings ideal, manually enter all my contacts by emailing people and asking for their # then figure out why my screen dims and undims every few seconds. plus it won't even let me change the wallpaper

[Q] Going to bone stock.

How does one wipe out the internal SD card? Odin 1 click does not do it.. Going into privacy/factory rest does not do it either.
Last night I did a 1 click and factory reset and when I attached the phone to my pc and mounted the internal SD, there were still lots of directories with data in them from past application installs.
Thanks
Go to settings, then the SD card and phone storage menu. Find the internal SD card section, select unmount SD card, then format SD card. Once its done it auto mounts back to the phone again.

Can not format

Have my own S1
Can not format the unit I tried to reboot a computer
I tried through code
I always stay 4GB and re-emerge applications and some of them collapsing
What to do
Thank you
you must first unmount the external SD and next confirm the format SD
If you do it this way and it does not work, try factory reset your phone.
If its the external sd card you can put it in your pc and wipe clean. if internal sd card thats another story.
I tried unmount and factory reset It does not help
yes I meant internal sd card
Has any one of you an idea
Help please

[Q] Apps moved 2 external SD not accessible

Hi,
I'm unable to access some apps moved to my external SD. I think the card is corrupt, what will happen if i format it? will i loose my app data that i moved? will i loose my saved game states? please note that i'm unable to write files to external SD even via a USB - PC connection! but i can read data ( watch videos ) on external SD, no write protect in the card. Tried reboot, dust the card and put back in.
Also uninstalling apps installed on phone memory doesn't clear space, i'm running out of space on my phone memory too :|
And if i do factory reset, does the firmware also get reset to stock ROM? Please help!
No root, stock room.

before you format the sd card make sure you have ticked the keep backup of this device option in backup settings. This is save all your app data on google servers and when you reinstall the same app the data will be retained.
factory reset will delete all the apps that you have installed and will make your phone as fresh as new. you will not loose any ota firmware updates of rom.

Wiko UFeel won't restart after logo

Hello,
Recently my Wiko UFeel (using Marshmallow Android) restarted automatically and won't pass from the UFeel logo image. I know I problaby have to do a factory reset, however I need to backup some files to my computer, both from the phone and the SD Card which, unfortunately, is mounted as internal storage, meaning I can't plug it to a card reader or any other Wiko device to copy the files. What I'd like to know, please, is:
1) If I execute the factory reset with the SD card in my device, will the data also be erased or just the data from the internal storage (or both) ?
2) If I execute the factory reset without the SD card in my device, will I be able to use it as is after the phone is reset or will I need to format it ?
3) Is there any way for me to plug the phone to a computer so I can backup the files ?
4) Is there any way I can backup the SD card through some other means ? I tried ADB but it doesn't recognize my device.
Thank you very much

Factory reset will not wipe the external sdcard.
Yes, you should be able to use the sdcard with no issues after the factory reset.
No, there's probably no way to backup the data that is on internal.
