Hi Everyone, I just want to share this easy steps to root Android L.
Note: Android L is a Developer preview, it is not stable as the KitKat version and it is using ART runtime only, so not all apps are compatible.
Update: The v2.01 release fixes some incompatibility issues with the Android "L" Preview. There is no binary update over v2.00.

I recommend backup all your data/files in a PC, to avoid data loss. And don't blame me if you have a bootloop or stuck at boot logo.
TRY IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Boot into bootloader
For TWRP format cache first
Code:
fastboot format cache
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Boot into recovery
Flash the SuperSU-v2.01.zip
Reboot
You now have root access.

At first I had a problem with wiping the caches via TWRP, but I had to flash supersu first then wipe the caches and now everything is up and running. Great job!
Confirmed. This is working! Nice job!

Try using Root Explorer. I have no issues with the read/write on the system

Everytime I try it says that the TWRP recovery image is too large. Any ideas?
I'm guessing this is the same as the other root method, where it roots your device, but some apps still don't work as root apps?
Titanium Backup is my main concern.

I agree. I saw your post in the preview thread. I haven't used your process and boot.img yet, but will soon.
Give this man the recognition man, the least you could do.
Can anyone explain what this means?
Are those commands I put into cmd?
This is the latest CWM available for our bootloader.
CWM 6.0.5.1
-Swipeable menu/volume+power button navigation
I take no credit in the actual CWM build. As we all are aware, PT has reached EOL until further notice (whenever someone picks up the project). Instead sitting around on an older revision of CWM, I decided to go track down an update that is compatible with our BL.
Fastboot and CWM zip available. Usual warnings about flashing non Moto updates/software applies.
30 Sep 14
-Original release
1 Nov 14
- Resync with CM

Thanks for pointing that out. I just changed the 1st post. Both are 6.0.5.1, but the 1 Nov release contains all commits added since the 30 Sep release (I've been watching the nightlies changelog for all changes and I figured an update was needed)
Thanks! Flashed!
How'd it go Kris? Stable....point touches on point?

It is stable, as my 1st post says it is straight from the nightlies, just in its own flashable zip and its own *.img. Screen touches are acrually swipes on this, swipes up/down/left/right still work.

EDIT: misread your question: sorry:
yes - by downloading it and using something like flashify or going to recovery and flashing the zip.
(I flashed the zip just yesterday.)
or you could change that setting in CM developer and reboot a few times.
So I can ho into dev settings and click update cm recovery and it'll work that way?that's pretty cool. What about validus? I noticed same thing there as well.

I want to switch my data (and /sdcard/sd-ext) to f2fs. I don't see a mkfs.f2fs binary in here, or options in the GUI. How do I do it?
Also:
~ # mke2fs -T f2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p38
Warning: the fs_type f2fs is not defined in mke2fs.conf

The error brought there blames the bootloader it not be supported , so it caused the error . even if you install another TWRP , the error will be repeated :good:

Yes.But you can also flash the new recovery directly through TWRP.
Put the recovery on your sd card and for install just choose the ending .img instead of .zip .

Make This tutorial and then try to install the ROM AGAIN With the modified bootloader , you have a bootloader that will not be accepted by any Custom Rom .

Yes, you're absolutely right, he needs at least bootloader 4882 and he has the older version 4807.I should have read the screenshot better.
But a newer TWRP is a good idea nevertheless.
I wanted to upgrade my phone to Android 7. But I did not know that Huawei does not update for rooted devices.
That's why I downloaded this ROM
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5c/help/stock-rom-nmo-l31-model-t3455519
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1165/g104/v72555/f1/full/update.zip
. Then the Android 7 update came to me and updated the phone directly. But sometimes phone gives error system ui has stopped working and phone is slow(on home screen) . There's no way fix it?
