Hi,
can you please look in the Mobile Network option and see if you have WiFI Calling option unlock and VoLTE option unlocked?
That will help me much.
Thank you
CN converted to WW supports VoLTE, as of today. Don't know about stock CN. May change, though.

Thanks for replay, What about WiFi calling?
Not sure about the wifi calling. Don't want to assume an answer. There's no setting for it in the menus, but that doesn't mean that wifi calling is on/off.

Can you take a look if you have the phone?
Take a look at what? I just replied that I took a look for a toggle. There's no toggle, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't support it.
VOLTE will be region dependent too.

Can you post screenshot while making a phone call if it shows LTE or drops to H+??
Does wifi calling work?
An update on this matter...
As far as I can tell Huawei has been fixing one of their shortcomings and allowing VoLTE support on many more carriers despite the phone being the wrong reason.
I've heard from a reliable source that, although I didn't think it was true, indeed VoLTE works on T-Mobile US.
Note that this may or may not depend on the version/branding of the P20 Pro.
Wifi calling does not and has never worked on T-Mobile US with Huawei phones unfortunately.
This guy gets VOLTE on tmobile:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIqKuE1Dx40
as best I can tell it works.. I make a call and band 12 stays connected throughout the call when VOLTE is enabled in settings.
Does 4G symbol remain while on call

Can you try this please?
1. Turn WiFi off.
2. Make sure 4G symbol is showing on your cellular bars at the top of the screen.
3. Make a phone call. You can even call 611 for T-MO customer service, and make sure that 4G symbol still remains while on the call and that it does not change to 3G or anything else? And if you can post a screenshot, it would be much appreciated.
Are you using the CLT-L29 and what region? European or Latin American version?

Correct it's the dual sim CLT-L29 Build Number is clt l29 8.1.0.106(c636)
That method of testing would be a step backward. I have already confirmed I am calling over Band 12. VOLTE is working, atleast for me on T-Mobile. I wasn't expecting it to from reviews but it was a nice surprise.
Thanks

A workaround to get WiFi calling is to download T-Mobile Digits from play store and you can use the app to make wifi calls. You may need to sign up for T-MOBILE Digits. I'm not sure. I was a beta tester for Digits and they since let me keep the service for free on 3 devices.

I've been using google voice / hangouts dialer (or whatever they want to call it this month) for a few years now. I hardly ever use T-mobile for calls, works out well when you want an international phone. Less reliance on the network features.
Out of curiosity do you remember if T-Mobile digits worked for incoming calls as well?

Yes it does work. And the fact that you can mimic one number or multiple numbers as many times as you'd like on multiple devices is pretty cool.
brother phone NEO-L29 Mate RS dual sim with sim t-mobile.pl i have options to VoLTE and WIFI calling
VoLTE definitely works and Wificalling menu is hidden. Don't think it works, yet but that might change at some point. Use a program like quickshortcutmaker and search for calling. The last option seems to be for att and the second from bottom is TMobile.

I believe that's because you are using an international phone in an international country on an international version of T-MO.
Hey guys,
yesterday I got my new Mi 8 <3 It's really nice...
I wanted to check if I can use wifi calling, but there is no option for it in settings. I can search for it but there is only text as you can see in the screenshot.
I checked the "hidden menu" under *#*#4636#*#* but the option is greyed out, too.
I'm living in Germany with Vodafone and wifi calling is included in my plan.
Any hints? Is wifi calling working for you?
Thanks
I think the Mi8 is not supported by Vodafone.
I don't get it :/ Other Xiaomi phones are working, too. I thought Xiaomi have to implement the profiles? I don't know why this is always so hard, Android does support VoWifi since some major versions natively
It was one point, why I bought the Mi8 instead of the OP6. I hope it will get it fast

No, "HD" usually means VoLTE which is a completely different thing. Could you please try to enable flight mode and after that ONLY enable WiFi? If you are still able to make / receive calls, than WiFi Calling is working.
Tried build.prop change, Wifi-Calls enabled and preferred *#*#4636#*#* shows the switch enabled, but (three dots - IMS status) shows VoWifi "not available". VoLTE works same as before (without build.prop tweak). I checked both O2 and Vodafone Germany.
Seems there is no solution for VoWifi at the moment.
Come on, don't destroy my hopes Too bad...

My friend I don't think that the Wi-Fi calling works like that. The phone must recognize that you have sim card in your phone. I think that If you enable the aeroplane mode the phone doesn't recognize the SIM card. I am not 100% sure thought.
Yesterday I tried it with latest Xiaomi.eu rom and Magisk Module (to write build.prop entries).
I can enable VoWIFI in settings but if I try to call someone from wifi I only get an error message.
Very sad that it not work
Did anyone get this working?
I'm using Mi8 in UK on "Three" & "EE" - neither support the handset.
Can it be forced to work? Point me in the right direction if possible. Thanks
On MIUI ROMs it's not possible to get it to work. I installed Pixel3ROM some minutes ago and try to enable it there
Please keep us updated!
I didn't know it is possible to use different types of ROM on the phone.
Of course it's possible, but at the moment it still doesn't work Maybe I have to try another ROM
I'm on eu rom. when i install volte enabler magisk module (in repo), i got wifi calling feature in sim settings which actually works
On Xiaomi.eu ROM? I get Wifi-Calling switch, but phone does not register with IMS (Vodafone Germany).
Can you provide screenshot of ims status?

Has anyone figured out how to get wifi calling working? I've been looking for a third party app that will help, but I'm wondering if I just need to flash the 405UA fw on there. Can anyone tell me if that will work?
I have the same problem/question.
I did end up flashing the Verizon UA version, and at least for that carrier and where I live, wifi calling was lower quality than the carrier's. I know that doesn't really help, but I thought I'd update for you.

Thanks. I think I'd avoid all that as it is not that important to me. Cheers
BTW - for others, I am on ATT (via Red Pocket). R.P. says they support wifi calling and Volte on their GSMA (ATT) network. See here <https://help.redpocket.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022031312-What-is-WiFi-calling-and-can-I-use-it-with-my-Red-Pocket-service->. I had to call them to get wifi calling "enabled". But that still did nothing and in the phone's tech page (using USSD *#*#4636#*#*) it has never shown Volte or wifi calling provisioned.
I found this blog <https://gstylemag.com/2018/10/29/an-unlocked-lg-v40-is-both-amazing-and-not-on-atts-network/> and from the author says it just doesn't work. He also implies that the settings page for wifi calling is dynamically configured and that this item "disappears" when on ATT. So FYI.
I still can't get wifi calling and volte to work here for me in the UK, do I need to do something? no options show up

Call your network provider and ask for the settings to be pushed to your phone.
They can't for some odd reason. maybe they're clueless

ok i just quickly checked several utube videos and i see “global” device have VoLtE icon.
So I guess with global rom it will be fix bro
I have the Chinese variant of the Mi 11 Ultra and by default, I was unable to see the options to enable VoLTE and VoWifi.
If you enter the following codes into the dialer, it should work:
VoLTE *#*#86583#*#*
VoWiFi/WLAN *#*#869434#*#*
These codes disable/enable carrier compatibility check. Then go into Sim Card and enable VoLTE or VoWifi.
Since VoLTE is required for RCS in Google Messages to work, enabling this also allowed for 'Chat Features' to be ready on my phone.
Quick note: I am in Canada on the Virgin Mobile Canada network.
I did this but the icons never came up.
I'm in australia using telstra and got the china version

Even I face same problem I'm using boost sim ,I've enquares the Carrier but they said they support vote , I'm not able to get volte working in my device
Same issue. Got the Chinese variant of the Mi 11 Ultra, running 12.5.12 EU ROM and I'm on Boost (Australia). I've done all the dialler codes and still no VoLTE icon. Calls drop to 3G.
i've done a deep search regarding VOLTE on Telstra in Australia as I am facing this issue too, and I found out the following result:
This issue happened because Telstra did not share its network settings with a few companies, Xiaomi, Oneplus, and others.
On a different thread on Oneplus section, there is a way to fix it that requires root, so we add Telstra settings manually, but whenever a tiny update shows up, then we'll need to repeat it. a restart won't affect it, just an update because it replaces modified network settings file with original one.
so to summarise it, unless a software update with the new settings come up, then it won't work.
And btw, the VOLTE is working on MIUI first version of 12, and MIUI 11. but after the update, settings lost. and this is not an issue with MI 11 ultra, it is with all xiaomi and oneplus devices and a few others.
Do not waste your time on it, and just cope with what we got and be patient.

Thanks for this information, sincerely appreciated. My only concern is Telstra turning off their 3G network by June 2024. Let's hope the issue is solved before then. Fortunately my call quality is completely fine without VoLTE at the moment as reception is good. I'm sure other providers will start turning off 3G too. A very odd issue and I'm really surprised it hasn't been fixed.
Did any one manage to find a solution ?
Any solution yet to make volte and vowifi work on Telstra and boost Australia? Thanks
