Hi,
I've a strange issue on my pixel, i cant activate the dual sim dual standby with 1 ESIM and 1Physical sim. The problem is that the pixel force me to choose between the two sim and the other one is off. No dual signal etc.
Ive try to force activation of dsds with *#*#4636#*#* but the option is invisible. the option is only visible after a factory reset but when i restart for the first time it desappear.
Any idea or similar problem ?
Thanks a lot

Couple of questions. Is this a Verizon version Pixel 4 or Google version? Which security patch level are you on? Which two providers are you trying to enable?
It's a Google version on qq3a

Ok the version is right the only thing I can think of is that if you're on the same provider it might cause an issue, i.e. a conflict on the same network. I have basically the same setup but one network is Verizon and the other Google Fi and there are zero issues enabling DSDS. What exactly happens when you have the physical sim enabled and you go to add an eSim? I'm sorry, it's been so long that I kind of forgot the exact screens and steps.
I've try this morning with another carrier, same issue, i put the sim in and then " you can only have one sim active ..." frustrating x9999

Ok then, settings - about - sim status slot 1 and slot 2? Also, meid Sim slot 1 and IMEI sim slot 2 should show 2 similar but slightly different numbers. The meid should be only one number short of the IMEI. Do you have 2 there? Is your bootloader unlockable under system - advanced - dev options? (OEM unlocking not grayed out and able to be toggled)
I've only one Imei
and my bootloader is unlockable

Which build number, not only qq3a. Month also. You might need to update it.
edit: no that doesn't make sense. Something you are missing not sure what yet. I believe there was a thread some time ago with the same issue but I forgot how they fixed it. I'll root around see what I can find. But you do need to show 2 different IMEI for it to work properly.

Here's the thread I was talking about. https://forum.xda-developers.com/pi...im-support-t3984555/post81462767#post81462767 As it turns out they had to replace the device in order to get it to work. Not sure why.
That's exactly the same problem i've. i've try also to reflash but same issue, i'll ask for an exchange. Thanks a lot btw ?
Ok Guys I finally succeed to get my dual sim working in france and i think in works for all
so i've two IMEI's and DSDS Option show up now
The solution is a factory reset, and then after reboot let the phone in america do not add any wifi or cellular connection skip all configuration etc skip everything that is not required.
then dial *#*#4636#*#* and activate the DSDS fonction and then the phone reboot by itself ( mine when i was with a french configuration won't reboot);
After reboot it's a miracle two Imeis and succesfully activated Esim and sim.
If any questions feel free to ask

Hello,
I have purchased the dual sim variant of the P10, and have some battery drain issues. After alot of Googling and searching I have found that I own the VTR-L09 version of the phone, which is supposed to be a single sim variant, but my phone is dual sim out of the box. How is this possible? Did my carrier do something to the device to enable dual sim? Can this be the cause of high battery consumption?
Regards
Are you sure both sims actually work? The L09 has a tray for two sims, but only the first functions. I had to rebrand my L09 to L29 to make both of them work.
I doubt your battery issue is related. It could be a rogue app or Google Play Services. Did you install a battery monitoring app to see what the cause is of your battery drain? I like GSam Battery Monitor, but there are more.
Yes, I am 100% sure.

I have not yet tried an app like that, but will now. Thank you.
Can you please make a screen shot of "about this phone" at the bottom of the settings app? VTR-L09 should be single sim only, but you may have a carrier branded phone.
The real VTR-L29 has two sim modems, so it has also two IMEIs. VTR-L09 has only one modem with one IMEI but can read two sims. If you use dual sim on a (rebranded) VTR-L09, you have standby dual sim only.

Sure, here you go:
It is VTR-L09 and it has two IMEIs. What is the standby dual sim? I can receive and make calls/messages etc on both numbers at all times, but ahve to switch the primary card for data network i.e.
But even if it is "standby dual sim" is this the cause of the battery drain? My phone drains about 3-5% in ~30minutes give or take. I went to sleep yestarday with 100% battery, woke up 6 hours later with 60% left.
I tried that GSam Battery Manager, here is what I found (sorry, it wont let me paste in links, <10 posts and all):
As you can see in the last screenshot it reports the device is always awake, even though I lock it all the time, and have to re-enter pin/scan my finger each time I turn it on, and it says Wi-Fi is always on, even though I very rarely use Wi-Fi on my phone, since I have 20GB of free data on a 4G network, and keep my Wi-Fi turned off all the time.
The high phone power consumption is very unusual, unless you have been calling all the time. So you may be right that the battery drain is caused by the L09 rom while a L29 rom should have been flashed. I would recommend you to take the device back to the shop. Alternatively you can rebrand, but that involves unlocking your bootloader and may void warranty.
I did a factory reset on the phone, and re-setup everything as I've done before, except I can't remember if I did enable Wi-Fi+ before or not, but this time I didn't and consumption is normalized. Will see after a few hours to be sure.
But regarding the model/firmware, something is fishy. My wife owns a true VTR-L09 phone, and its firmware is far newer, although, when I try to update the software on my phone it says it's at its newest. And on the back of my phone it reads, model: VTR-L29. I will return the phone shortly to the shop, and have them sort this mess.

Please I am interested in this post and I need a guide line.
Someone should help
I just received an X527 (via Geekbuying) last week, everything is going well with the phone, apart from the dual sim function!
Both of my sim slots work fine - I have two sims one from Three Mobile and the other from Lebara.
I can put either sim into the phone using either tray and the phone works perfectly.
If I put both sims into the phone the sims will work initially then the Three Mobile sim will lose signal/connection.
It doesn't appear to make any difference which trays are used the Three Mobile sim will always lose connection.
If I put the Three Mobile sim into another phone it works perfectly, only seems to be a problem when I use the two sims on the X527.
Something seems to be stopping the Three Mobile sim working in the dual mode.
I can turn off the Lebara sim and the Three Mobile sim will work fine.
My set up is to use Lebara for data and outgoing calls and the Three sim for incoming calls, generally speaking.
Any ideas?
This is what is happening with my X527 when using 2 x SIM cards.
Put the SIM card in – both are detected:

Wait a few minutes and this is what I get, no matter which way I put the SIM's in:
SIM cards swapped around - same thing 3UK signal drops after a few minutes:

Looking at my phone information I'm running Mpss ta c 2.0.c18
What's the best course of action to change to mpss ta 2.1 c7?
I use 4g + 3g on x527 with MPSS.TA.2.1.c700008-8976...
I found a "Le 2-X526-5.9.021S-Bootloader+ Modem.zip" file in my Le2-folder so I must have flashed that (in twtp). There should be a thread about it somewhere here where I downloaded the file from. There's a "setDevice-x527.zip" file too, if the bootloader changes the name on the phone to X526 and you want to change it back to X527.
OK so I've updated to 19S now and still has the same "Mpss ta c 2.0.c18"
I've found this link to mpss ta 2.1 c7
Do I just copy the file to the phone then install via TWRP?

WOW THANK YOU.
I live in Australia and the 2G network is shut down, which made this phone useless as I use one sim for calls and one for data and need them simultaneously. But I'm using Small EUI on an X526 and I installed this over the top using TWRP and BAM, I can use both sims again in Australia, totally bought this phone back to life for me thank you!!!!!

Hard to tell because my phone is a bit ****ed up right now (the screen is smashed to **** and I'm forced to use an onscreen navbar because the capacitive buttons at the bottom of the screen are broken) but it seems okay... I'm thinking about moving to a more AOSP rom however because Im not really that fond of the leeco android stuff and it doesn't seem to send notifications to my smartwatch at all
Is the same for the X526? I put the small eui rom in , and cant receive calls on sim2. Im in Australia.
So i need to install mpss ta 2.1 c7 via TWRP? Install zip? Anyway to get 4G support on both sims?

Not been on here for a while!
I'm getting the same feeling with regards to battery life, it's needing charged up way more than previously.
No other issues thankfully but time for a change soon I suspect!
I have a Jio 4g sim in slot one. I can access internet just fine but when I try to make a call it says " call failed, try another method"
I have an idea 3g sim in slot 2. After searching online I found solutions like swap Sims (already done that), try sim in another phone (volte calling works fine on other phone) and wiping cache ( done, no luck)
Is it true that the December update broke the volte functionality? I just bought the phone so I don't know much about that but there are a lot of people facing the same problem it seems, going by all the complaints on forums
How do I fix this?
Ps: calling via the jio4g voice app works fine

Any solutions to volte problem?
I'm not able to use VoLTE but my brother can, both on Moto G5S Plus. Only difference is that he's on stock rom and I've tried all sorts of custom roms including AEX, Cosmis, RR, PE etc. But I couldn't get VoLTE working on any of them.
I haven't tried VoLTE when I had stock rom, so can't say if its due to OS or some other problem.
What's wrong with my moto G5s+ ? I also experienced an incident like this after flash stock rom 61-2.

What do you mean, activate?! This device requires no activation.
What do you mean by activate?
You can activate the phone on the whole world, you do not need to be located in China. Just create a Xiaomi account and enter that data in the initial phone setup.
Oh... My bad, I forgot to add I want to activate my k20 pro so that I could unlock the bootloader and possibly install a custom recovery and install an updated english/custom rom.
Put simcard in, register the phone with Xiaomi in the settings, follow the unlock procedure, use the phone while you are waiting for the unlock permission.

Yes, I've done that procedure until the register the phone with Xiaomi in the settings, there's a popup prompt that says can't activate sim card or locate sim card... I will try to activate it again when I reach home today and I will post a screenshot of the prompt.
I think the phone needs to have a valid SIM card inside.

Yes... About that, I have two working sim cards. There are only two telcoms here in Qatar, and both my sim cards are from both of those two telcoms. Not sure why I'm still getting that prompt, hence, the ruse to make this thread of mine asking for phone activation help. I tried again yesterday, with both sim cards on the phone - not working, still same prompt. With a single sim card, either of each - not working. At this point, I'm willing to just shell out cash to avail of the new OP7pro McLaren edition if I had extra cash :silly:

If you don't have a Mi account create one online on the Mi website.
If you already have you log in to it.
Go to the security settings and manage your email and telephone details.
Make sure you have added the phone number of one of your sims and that you have verified it. They will send an OTP text.
On your phone make sure the SIM now linked to the Mi account is in the phone in slot one, leave slot 2 empty, just to keep things simple, go to the settings and to Mi account settings. Make sure the Mi account connected to the phone is the one from above.
Now make sure you've enabled developer settings then go to the developer options and unlock status. Then start the unlock process. Just hit the button on that page.

You need an active data connection without Wi-Fi active. Then the activation should work.
you need to register xiaomi account to bound it to your device to use miflash to unloack the bootloader after 3 days i guess to be able to flash twrp and magisk and the custom roms world
all xiaomi phones like that
have fun a little reading will solve ur problem

I bought the Global ROM version off AliExpress since the Chinese ROM one is in shortage recently. And when it comes I want to link it to my Mi Account - is that possible?
I thought of relocking it and then unlocking it afterward so that I might be asked to enter my Mi Account.
Hello to all specialists, . I have the following problem with my S21 Ultra 5G (I do not know the provider before) the problem refers to mobile data that I simply do not get activated. I installed a new Rome from Samfw.com via Odin. I tried all providers here in Germany, but nothing was reached except recently at Telekom (T-Mobile). The smartphone does not require a simlock. Is it in the settings?. The card is recognized and WLAN telephony is also possible. At first I thought that it might be blocked, but I bought a unlock code from Handy-Entsperren24.de, I am now sitting on this problem all the time and does not depend on what it could be, I had another ROM before on it, which was compatible with Vodafone and Telekom and Euro. I hope you have a suggestion that this problem is finally helped. I looked on YouTube and in Google I looked for the problem forever, but I found nothing in this regard. Many greetings your Ingo.
Here are some data:

Model code: SM-G998BZKDDBBT

Turn off wifi and watch the "data" tab when connecting to the network.
Are you using one sim or two at the same time?
Are the settings in apn on your phone consistent with those of your sim card provider?
Yes, I use my provider's settings. A SIM card no matter 1 or two, the same everywhere. The provider of mine is normal here.
looks like you dont have any signal. im guessing calling is only working on wifi?
have you tried your sim in another phone?
maybe worth just reflashing the firmware, possibly a bad update?

I suspect RIL failure or worse, hardware failure of the radio.
Still try to make a call to the emergency number 112 and immediately disconnect if a call is made.
So I switched off the WLAN telephony, tried emergency call 112 and I didn't get through. It was only "called", but as already mentioned, nothing happened. I really don't know what to do, I also tried 3 different stocks. (Vodafone, Telecom and of course euros). Does anyone have a tip because I think a new Rome may not do anything? Before that, I had already converted the SIM card to an ESIM, but nothing happened, it is always just the mobile data that does not show any function. The card works in my old cell phone Xioami.
Have you just brought the device?
couple of possibilities and resolution
1- Software issue - use odin to reflash the firmware (make sure you use the official or trusted cable)
2 - network blocked device - you'll need to call your operator to check whether this is the case
3 - Hardware issue - get it repaired by samsung

We are not talking about SIM. Calling the emergency number should also work without any SIM in the phone. Since it does not work and you tried to upload other original firmware, the diagnosis is clear: a damaged radio module. Only replacing the motherboard will help, which in fact may be unprofitable.
I now get a call from Samsung for repair. Let's see what that costs. Thanks for the information, if you can think of something else that can still be remembered, I would be happy to receive any answer.
I did so installed trwp I did full wipe. Then I uploaded the system again through Odin and everything works
Before android install 13, imei (null) (imei is empty) no signal.

First, how do you know that the case of the author of the thread is identical to your problem?
Second, don't force the thread author to remove the knox security irrevocably after flashing custom recovery.
So I didn't install any new firmware. And with stack 1, as you can see, there are only bugs.
Do you have any suggestions or do you really think hardware failures are occurring? With the motherboard of the S21 Ultra, costs almost as much as a new one?

There can be many causes and locations of damage.
Without physical access to the phone and knowledge of operation and diagnostics, it is impossible to know if repair is possible and what the cost will be.

So can I do nothing more from here?
You just have to be careful, as already explained on the website (Teardown), the back cover is difficult to solve. And do you also have to expand a chip? A question on the side? Can you just expand the memory chip? From 128GB to 256GB? Or even higher? Only purely out of interest.
