No, you cant. bootloader can only be locked in official version.

Hi. I have a Mi5 and I'm using MIUI 9 Global Beta 8.3.29 . Is it possible to change the ROM to MIUI 9 Global Stable without unlocking the bootloader? If yes, how?
I'm asking because I only found conflicting info while searching the web. Some say it's possible other say it's not.
I also tried to install a MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM using XiaomiTool but it gave me an error. (even though in XiaomiTool it said that I don't need the bootloader to be unlocked to be able to install it)
I'd appreciate it if someone could give me an answer. Thanks.
Ya data will be wiped update to latest developer edition then to stable latest
Hello
i've a Mi 8 global version (locked bootloader, waiting the time to unlock) with the last Global Stable rom 10.0.2.0 (Oreo). I'd like to switch to the developer rom version (Pie) but i get an error and i can't do it. So the question is: can i come back to miui 9 latest stable rom and then swith to developer one? If yes, how? Thank you for the answers

My CC9 is currently on Stock MIUI 12.0.2.0 stable (QFCCNXM)
Android version: 10
I checked ARB via fastboot commant and got "anti:1"
My question is .... "is there any way to flash Android 10 based EU custom rom running MIUI 11.0.3.0 ?"
That means I want to downgrade from stock miui 12 (Android 10) to custom miui 11 (based on Android 10) or custom miui 11 (based on Android 9)
via TWRP.
Is this will cause hard brick?
Please, someone clear this confusion...
Hi.
Read this article: https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/
You can safely downgrade the firmware version on this device.

Thanks for the response. I know how ARB works in switching official miui.
We can check the antiroll back index from fastboot rom image (from bat file) but since I want to move from an official miui12 to a custom xiaomi.eu miui11 so how can I check that xiaomi.eu rom's ARB index? because custom roms are recovery rom to to be flashed from within twrp. Is there a way to check ARB index of an recovery rom?
This is where I got confused that switching from official miui to a custom miui will still get affected by ARB or not...
My Note 10 Pro (6/128+64MP) has MIUI version MIUI Global 12.5.8.0 (RKFINXM). The battery performance is not satisfactory. I saw a post saying the global 12.5.6.0 version is good on battery backup. So I want to try that out. Don't want to void my warranty now by flashing any custom ROM or unlocking bootloader too. So my question is can I go from RKFINXM to RKFMIXM?? Can I flash MIUI Global 12.5.6.0 (RKFMIXM)?? If yes, then how??
Yes, With MI official flash tool
You need to have unlocked bootloader.
For HOW TO, check google or youtube there is tons of guides for that it all the same just use the fastboot rom file of your device.
