Good evening everyone at xda, i really respect and am in awe at you all.
I know that was a bit much but i have used your guides and tutorials for years now and would like to say thanks!
but anyways, heres my problem.
I have after working for computer repair companies, mobile phone repair companies, tech businesses and everything else besides, finally started my own repair business.
this is my second business as my first biz is a recycling company for electronics but i hope you can see the 2 naturally go hand in hand.
What i am asking you clever people, is what tools i should be buying.
I am going through tri wing screwdrivers at an alarming rate.
is there a good brand that will take more than 5 repairs before becoming blunt???
was looking at the gtopol pendriver but seems difficult to get.
Any help would be great and thanks for all your work guys, especially twrp team,
thanks in advance

I just hung up with htc. I sent my 2 Kaisers in for repair since I just recieved my touch pro.(yes i spend too much money on phones) I was talked down to like a 4 yr old by the first guy, then after DEMANDING that I speak with a supervisor, he transfered me to Britney (1-888-617-1113) She told me that one of my phones, the one that I sent back for the z key and h key hard to press...Told me I need a new motherboard and lcd! for the low low price of $438.15! I said, how do you get to a motherboard and an lcd when I had problems with 2 keys being hard to press? She replied that the technition said he couldnt get the lcd to start up (being an eet, I asked if they test upon arrival or after initial tear down (we are a pioneer service center and people are human) was my reply to her after I learned they tear down for initial testing. Am I just up in the night or is this the most ridiculous load of B.S. I have heard for sending in a phone with 2 bad keys! does anyone know if the keyboard is part of the motherboard? Its not like you couldnt just go and buy a new phone at att and do a "gutswap" and return it! (I dont like to be that guy but Britney is making me!) I just need someone elses opinion...
thanks for listening to my RANT!

Did you pay for it yet.
Companies like HTC is why places like this exist. I deal with the HTC technicians on a daily basis. I swear i think I would be better off dealing with a french fry cook at McDonalds.
you know the only us port in the kaiser where you charge and where you connect it to the pc. when you first buy the kaiser it would be wonderful then couple months later ..it becomeshappy and doesn't work as good. it starts either rocking or the "teeth" inside start to move that will cause problems with connections and charging.
same thing happened to me with my universal so I threw it away ..but I love this kaiser I have what would be another alternate solution ? please I would appreciate your help.
Yes this is fairly common with this phone. Normally service is suggested.
Warranty FTW!
Just be careful when your plugging and unplugging the device. i.e. take it out and put it in straight, not at any angles.
If you search broken miniusb you'll find several threads. One is of mine when it broke. It was charging in the car and dropped and the "male" part of the extusb on the phone cracked.
I went to an At&t service center, the guy looked at it, told me its frequent and handed me a new device.
that's the problem ...I bought it over ebay
Here ya go...

oh wow..thanks man!
I was looking all over the place and not near me..
I never thought that at&t might have a technical support department..
but that's wonderful.
I know it's a little expensive but i't worth it when you can't live without your ppc.

PPC-Techs is not AT&T technical support, but I highly recommend them. I have used their screen protectors on my devices since my Ipaq 1900. Their customer serices is excellent.
I just had the mini usb replaced on my Tilt by PPCTechs. HTC wanted over $350 to repair. PPCTech was about $75. Excellent service and high speed.

thank you sooo much guys ...I'm probably going to look for the HTC Universal and send it to those guys too!
Hello xda members! The touchscreen from my XPERIA X1 won't respond to my touches anymore since I let it fall on the ground by accident >_<
And I don't have any receipt so that I can bring it back to the store because I didn't buy it (I found it on a parking lot when me, my dad, my mother and my sister entered the car after we ate at a pizzeria). So no receipt, no warranty.
Therefore I was thinking that maybe I could replace the screen (just the screen, found one on Marktplaats)
So could you guys give me some instructions on how to replace it?
Thanks!
Raymond
Sorry, you want help from us when you are not willing to help others? What you find in public is not yours. It belongs to someone else and with a bit of an effort can be returned to the rightful owner. Especially if its a smartphone that is very likely to contain some information about the owner. So it's up to you to decide what's right and what's wrong.
And by the way: Your story how you came into posession of the phone is generally weird. I don't want to accuse you of anything but you know those stories sound always the same Like it fell from a truck
Why am I not willing to help others? The police was notified of it and after 1.5 year nobody picked it up. After 1 year, you can keep it said the police.. And the story is real. It was my moms birthday, we ate at this pizzeria.. Walked back to the parking lot and as i walked to the door of the car my foot hit an object and when I looked i saw this leather case lying on the ground and I picked it up and found the mobile. But anyways can't you just even try to help me? You won't even help someone jeez weird ass forum >_<
OK. To to avoid beeing prejudiced against you I will try to help you. But keep in mind that I still find your story a bit weird

Take a look at this tutorial. It's not about replacing the screen but at least it shows how to disassemble your Xperia. I hope it Helps.
Ah that's what I need! Thanks! I will have a look at this
Hi there,
First post so first up let me just say hey been lurking on here for awhile but never needed to post before! I seem to have had the worst luck ever, purchased two samsung phones first off a galaxy s2 off ebay which I was really looking forward to using and then an s8000 from cex which I wasn't looking forward to using so much. I've spent a lot of time unlocking and sim unlocking them only to find out they are both IMEI blocked, I've spent a lot of money on them and even when i've taken them into the operators they have been no help even going so far as suggesting I have stolen both of them. I don't really want to give up on either phone but spending £100 on a z3x box just for two phones is a bit much, so I wanted to know if there's anyone in london with a z3x box who would be willing to help me. I understand that it probably looks a bit dodgy asking on a new account like this but I can only assure you of my sincerity. I'll understand if no one is willing to help but if anyone is could they please get in touch with me.
Thanks for your time.
You need to get your money back from ebay and cex, shouldn't be a problem, always get imei no before buying, if they don't provide it, they are hiding something

My nexus 7 fell from the bed while charging. It has a crack on the screen and the touch partially works, so I think both the screen and the digitizer is damaged. Here is an image.

I asked up asus service center and the cost of repairing is almost the same as I had purchased it for. I am still a student and yet to start earning. I got this nexus 7 as a gift from my mother, and I took it mostly for using it as an ebook reader. I can get a digitizer and screen from ebay and repair it, but taking credit from friends is something I have kept as a last resort.
So if someone here who got his nexus 7 bricked or fried up its processor and is possessing a dead device, please consider donating it to me as I can use the digitizer and the screen. I don't have the money now, but yes I am learning programming and in my final semester with a job offer letter in hand, so yes we can surely work out something. I can lend my huge collection of programming ebooks and videos, or can do other stuff like coding a website or something like this.
Please PM me if you feel you can help me.
Number one rule, never let the OEM fix the device when out of warranty, because they charge way too much. Here you go for a cheap screen: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Display...ablet_eReader_Accessories&hash=item337f76337a
Offtopic: I can't believe anyone being able to use the N7 as an ereader. It's way too heavy and battery won't last long. I'm very happy with the Kobo Glo.
My tablet is still in warranty but they won't cover physical damages. Anyways, thanks a lot for replying!
