Hi.
I had the same problem on ROG 2 and now I have it on ROG 3: Gmail stops syncing every 1-3 days. No updating app, no sync changes (by me), even no phone restarting. Just stops. I'm opening Gmail app, see notification sync/hide, pressing on Sync and it working for another 1-3 days.
Any explanation? Any solution?

since this morning every time my nexus one try to sync my gmail acount (just the e-mails) it stops responding forcing me to stop it. that doesn't happen with the contacts and the callendar. last night i installed doctogo, my backcup and a audio widget. this mornig i was trying to associate my YouTube account into my buz at gmail. does any of you guys experienced this problem?
is it possible no one had seen my post? 4 days and no tip!!!
Has anyone had this happen? I have been running Eugene's Hybrid R3 for a week or so now with no issues. Yesterday afternoon, I noticed that my LauncherPro Gmail Icon said I had 5 new emails. So, when I open Gmail at the top it says Inbox (5), but there are no new emails to open or read. When checking on the PC yes I do have 5 emails. So I tried refreshing, reconnecting, removing syncing for gmail, rebooting, and a few other things and still nothing.
Even today, I got on the pc and emptied my inbox, but my phone still says 5 new emails and when I open gmail it still showing the 2 read messages that were there yestrerday. It's really just frozen, not updating read, unread, new, etc.
I've also tried on 3g and Wifi, no difference.
Any ideas?
I'll be reflashing in a day or two when Eugene releases his new one, but it's a bit annoying right now.
Forget it. Got bored and reflashed Hybrid R3. I had too much crap installed and changed anyway. Working great again.

I've been searching all over the forums, am I alone with this issue? It seems that my new Xperia Z faces sync delay issues after being "connected" for a few minutes or hours. What I mean is if I have just gotten off of Airplane mode, or switched from 2G to 3G or other way around, I get my Gmails instantly. But after a while, Gmails are sometimes delayed by up to 30 minutes!
Battery Stamina mode is off, syn is on, and I have notifications on for all emails.
I've wiped my device clean multiple times and I'm on the latest (.253) OS. This is getting quite annoying. My iPhone receives Gmails before my Android?!!!!
Could it be a hardware issue? If so I will take my phone in. Are there other settings I have missed perhaps?

A few weeks ago I noticed my battery wouldn't last more than 6 hours. After a lot of troubleshooting, I found that gmail was the cause because it wouldn't stop syncing. Confirmed of course after deleting gmail for a couple of days.
But I really would like to keep the account on my phone. I set up that account again and for a few days it seemed fine, but my phone is constantly warm to the touch again and the battery just died... this time it hadn't even been 6 hours.
Has anyone else experienced this recently?
I'm on a lumia 1020 with black update.

What are your sync settings for your Gmail account? Since WP8, we couldn't set Gmail to sync "As Items Arrive", or push status. Could set as often as 15 minute only. Are there large files and/or attachments coming through?

I know, and I have it set to 15 minutes. I get a few photos every now and then but nothing out of the ordinary that should cause this. And as far as volume goes.... maybe 50 emails a day including the typical spam/promos that don't get filtered properly.

That's strange, on my ATIV S i don't occur that kind of problem, but i am not having my data turned on all the time. I turn it on just when i need to check something on internet or where there is no wi-fi spot around. And in email and accounts for Gmail i have the options "As They Arrived" to "Manualy", and ofcorse i chose "Manualy", I think we have to address this issue at Microsoft and Gmail together.
Push it to 30min for a day or two. See if that helps.
Didnt' make any changes. But it stopped doing it. So not gonnna keep digging, it was a hassle in the first place trying to figure out the cause over a couple of weeks. All I can say was deleting the account and adding it helped the first time. the 2nd time not sure. Oh well.

I have a note 9 which isn't always syncing probperly. It's as if I have power saving mode on, which I do not.
Example: I get an email in my Gmail-inbox without a notification. So when I randomly open the app some time and update, the poof I get emails sent to me 20 minutes ago. At night I get zero notifications of emails.
Messenger: I write som messages with my friends on my PC, pick up mi phone 20 minutes later and the "older" messages are still there and poof, the list starts to rattle through all messages to get up to speed.
What could the issues be? I've checked all apps and they have full access to the phone in terms of rights. Power saving mode is disabled and the phone has been rebooted several times.
